Boring answer, I’m afraid I simply stole the look because I like it. I’ve got a men at arms book on my shelf with one of them on the cover, and I was set on using that buff coat and cuirass look sooner or later!

My guardsmen are light mechanized shock troops, acting like cavalry but with sentinels and armored cars. So, kind of a similar role to your dragoon or cuirassier. Close enough to earn the look!

Captain Maris LaValette of the 52nd "Oystercatchers" mechanized division, Delta company. Disappeared along with the entirety of Delta and Gamma Companies on return from campaign some time after 026.M42. Presumed dead.

Realized I didn’t have any colored drawings of Maris, so let’s fix that. I took the opportunity to work out a color scheme for her regiment as well
