Severine used to have a safehouse.
It was an apartment that she kept in Ul'dah. A warehouse that had been completely outfitted to be a comfortable, quiet, private and safe place to stay or for other people to stay.
She let someone stay there. Someone she thought was a friend. And they made it an unsafe place.
She abandoned the safehouse after deliberation - there were a lot of good memories in that weird little space. But it didn't serve its intended purpose anymore. And that purpose was safe.
Now she has another place that she can call safe. She's collected them now. Any number of little hideaways and homes.
But this one? This one's just for her.
Flowers have a long history of symbolism that you can incorporate into your writing to give subtext.
Symbolism varies between cultures and customs, and these particular examples come from Victorian Era Britain. You'll find examples of this symbolism in many well-known novels of the era!
