Is it just me, or are people making less fan art of their favorite shows and favorite people these days? 🥲 Or, maybe my algorithm is just fucked? But…Are we creatively bankrupt right now? I miss seeing fan art.

Thinking about Psycho-Pass again (my all-times favorite anime) and about how Makishima, as genius as he is, fundamentally misunderstands Akane and dismissed her far too early. Akane is perhaps his greatest blind spot.
He mistakes her hesitancy to kill for weakness. For falling in-line with those he views as sheep, willing to give up free-will and ultimately humanity for the ease of letting a greater being (the Sybil system) make those hard decisions for them.
But Akane doesn’t hesitate to kill because she’s weak. She refuses to kill, even when her baser emotions and anger would drive a weaker person to do so, and that’s a big distance. Her refusal to kill is not weakness—it is conviction. From the very first episode we see this. Akane constantly takes free will into her own hands and plays these unfair games by her own rules—by her own morals.
But Makishima is a psychopath and lacks basic empathy. He fundamentally cannot understand a person like Akane and how she views and values human life. He has to rationalize the value of a human life, putting arbitrary metrics he decided are meaningful such as willpower and self actualization (which are not negative things to be fair! These are admirable traits!). But he is incapable of understanding Akane who sees intrinsic value in all human life. Akane does not fit into his worldview.
So he categorizes her and her actions in the only way he knows how—as the actions of sheep and chattel.
It used to bother me a lot how Makishima was so dismissive of Akane while obsessed with Kougami despite both officers being equally willful and strongly convicted people, willing to do whatever it takes, no matter how difficult, to realize their ideals.
But I realize now that this is just how it is. Makishima is so self-aggrandizing and charismatic that it’s easy to, even as an omnipotent audience looking in, fall for his bullshit. But he has blind spots. He’s a genius but he’s also not as knowledgeable and knowing as he believes himself to be and wants the world and audience to believe him to be.
And his relationship (or lack of thereof) with Tsunemori Akane is proof of this.
And it’s this blindness that ultimately makes him lose. And I think the most ironic part of it all is that Akane, whom he viewed to be sheep, was ultimately the first person to ever successfully begin to tear down the Sybil system just as Makishima has always wanted.
If he hadn’t been so blind of incapable of empathy, he and Tsunemori might’ve made for a very powerful team. He might’ve lived to see his plans succeed. But he didn’t.
This extends to the audience too. I think a lot of people get caught up in Makishima and Kougami’s convictions. The audience constantly underestimated and overlooks Akane as well. And that is very very interesting to me from a meta perspective of the story and characters.

I'd love a Psycho Pass OVA where it's just the couples being domestic. I want to see Irie and Mao go on a lil enforcer date. Karanamori and Yayoi enjoying life. Ignatov being a simp for Maiko. Akane and Kogami figuring what the hell they got going on.
Maybe a little something for the singles too. Ginoza possibly going on a date. Sugo going out with me. Shimotsuki suffering alone in her office. Tenma and Hinakawa playing scrabble.
Maybe a crack episode with the antagonists too. I'd kill for more Azusawa and Obata moments too. Togane repelling women for an episode. Makishima going on a mildly insufferable rant.
Arata just does parkour for 25 minutes.

Psycho Pass Translation in this day and age? Yup 👍
Psycho Pass Zero (0) (🔗) (Complete | English | Prequel)
Content Warning: ‼️ Makishima comes with his own warning. It has gore and graphic elements. You know normal Psycho Pass stuff.
Summary: The year is 2109. At that time, Inspector Kogami meets Sasayama, an Enforcer, and a strange schoolgirl, Kirino Touko. What is the truth behind the incident dubbed as the Specimen Case which becomes the catalyst for Kougami's downfall as an Enforcer?
❌Please don’t copy and repost it elsewhere. The link will be live till the end of the internet until a solar flare probably takes us all out. ❌
Let's say it is Sasayama's bday gift (March 26). That's the least I can do for the man who died for the plot! Sasayama, the man, the legend.
Please REBLOG!

Well my loves, it appears as though the answer to "Can the Big Pattern Company (Simplicity/Burda/McCalls/ect.) survive the death of JoAnn?" has come.
The answer is no. No it cannot. It has been sold to a liquidator just like JoAnns was.
So if there is ANYTHING you want I suggest you get it now. simplicity.com is currently having a pattern sale and I snatched up some that might be useful for cosplay purposes.
I am very glad these last couple of years I have built up my collection.

Hypersensitivity is not the experience of being sensitive; it’s the demand that circumstances must be rearranged around us to avoid triggering our own discomfort.
Discomfort, in small and tolerable doses, is a natural part of how we grow. Muscles tear so they can rebuild stronger. Our psycho-emotional landscape expands through challenges.
However, when discomfort is prolonged and relentless, it overwhelms our capacity to manage and it turns into trauma.

The difference between loneliness and aloneness is simple.
Loneliness is the emotion that arises with the perception of separation or distance between ourselves and something else.
Aloneness is the sense of solitude when there is no perception of separation or distance, nor is there a perception of unity or closeness.
With loneliness, the problem isn’t at all related to you being alone. It’s all about the sense of separation.
If we stay with our solitude and allow it to mature into aloneness, it becomes the doorway to a kind of perfect fullness.
