About Royal Gifts & Motivation

Georgena is many things a survivor to some, victim to others. She wears many crowns of being a mother, life coach, woman, sister, aunt and more. But growing up she would always say “ I am a Princess” and as time went by she realized she was not a princess but in fact a Queen which made her Royal!

Now you are probably thinking, doesn't every young woman think this? Well to be honest I don’t know! For her Royal took a deeper meaning. (R)ealizing (O)ur (Y) (A)nd (L)iving Daily this is her mantra, she will look in the mirror and ask herself why? Along with using motivational quotes to keep her spirits high.

 She wants to help teach others to do the same and this is where the motivation comes in. She focuses on younger women as her story started out at thirteen when she found herself sleeping in an abandoned building. Or stumbling into bed beyond intoxicated. Yet that’s her story I am sure she will share in her blog posts. Let’s look into gifts-Royal gifts began forming in 1999 when Georgena was sitting at the local post office selling pencils. She wanted a better way to earn money without people looking at her differently. Then an older woman approached her one day, asking “What are you making”? She replied with a keychain (a gecko) the nice lady told her she would take two and would it be ready by the time her errand was done? Georgena rushed but made her first sale with something she created. The feelings she experienced of joy and gratitude could never compare in the future days!As time went on she continued setting up a table and selling her little beaded items. She made flags for the car, ones you could wear and keychains. A short time later she had her son. So the beading jewelry got pushed on the back burner. Motherhood was now her first priority! However she never lost the passion to create new things.About five years later she wanted to learn to crochet. As a child she remembered seeing her mother make baby blankets. Then as an adult her friend was also making a blanket. She didn’t realize how long a crochet blanket would make. But a short time later she was so focused on learning that she taught herself to knit and crochet. Everything she made was sitting in a box just waiting for anyone who wanted it. She was wearing an ear warmer while grocery shopping and again someone asked her a magical question! Where did you get that it's so pretty? After explaining she makes them and how she was self taught. The lady proceeding telling her she would like to order a few. Georgena was no longer selling her creations! She didn’t know how to reply to what to charge or even if selling them was an option. So looking into different ways to begin selling her stuff she sat outside again with a table and waited. Not many sales that day but someone had told her about Etsy. After looking into it a bit more she opened her first etsy shop ever!Two years later she was doing great. In reality she wasn’t looking to get rich quick. It was exciting for her to know someone in the world was using something she put her time into. She perfected every craft from cross stitching, crochet, knitting, beaded jewelry, paper crafts and even resin art.However life happened and she took her store down after her house fire. Being in a domestic violent relationship was taking its toll on her creativity. As well as her mental state it brought up childhood traumas she never focused on. So she learned how to accept the fact she was a homeless pregnant teenager, a drug addict and alcoholic at a very young age. Obese and socially akward - a mom that had no idea on what parenting really meant. Yet despite it all she realized she survived mental, physical, and emotional abuse! She fights her mental dragons daily. Just because everyone else gave up on her! She took a stand and decided to be the light in her own cloudy day.Finally she realized she was a royal and the sky isn’t the limit. She is writing her own destiny and creating gifts people can give with pride or keep for themselves. It brings her joy sitting in her studio and making something someone new will take home and enjoy!
