When purchasing produce, it’s best to buy what’s in season. This ensures that you are getting the freshest, locally grown produce. Produce that is in season is typically cheaper too!
If you’d like to see what’s in season near you, look into the Seasonal Food Guide. (:

Healthy AND delicious?
Eating a healthier, balanced diet can be challenging, especially when you don’t know where to start. Do you have to give up the foods you know and love? What if your family doesn’t like the healthier options? Will food be the same?
These are all great questions to have when striving for a healthier diet. Here are some ways to eat healthier WITHOUT giving up tasty traditional meals!
Lightening Tips
Reduce fat content in meat and poultry
Cook chicken and turkey with the skin on to keep it more moister and flavorful. Remove the skin after cooking.
Replace stuffings and breaded toppings or coatings with herbs and spices.
Broil, roast or bake meat or meat loaf on a rack inside a broiling pan to catch the fat
Baste meats with juice, wine, or broth instead of butter.
Cook stews and soups ahead, then refrigerate and skim the fat off the top before reheating.
Replace a portion of the meat in a recipe with beans, grains, or vegetables.

fitness doesn’t always have to be about losing weight, gaining muscle or lifting more weight. it’s supposed to be fun, don’t be so hard on yourself. you are doing better than you think you are.

I don’t want my body back to where it’s been. I want to push it farther than I’ve ever pushed it before, to yield different, better, and lasting results, and to be stronger than ever.
