Extra help - February update

We’re back on for February!

This is largely because @courtneygearsolid (a longtime member) is helping run things!

Because this blog is now a group blog I have lost all access to DMs (thank you tumblr) this means you’ll receive letter club information from either my @callisteios or @courtneygearsolid accounts.

Apologies for the confusion and delays.

Update

Sorry for the complete lack of communication.

To be brief, I started this group because no one else was doing it and I’m very glad to have done so BUT I have since discovered that I am exceptionally ill equipped to run a group of any kind.

This puts me in a difficult spot, it’s not even the frequency of the thing im just trash at dates and deadlines.

If anyone would like to hop on board to help me keep the group going that would be excellent. If not then I will endeavour to keep it running, you will just have to forgive missed months here and there

Either way, see you in January (I hope) and thank you everyone for being a part of this group!

Would you like to join a queer letter writing club?

I've had enough interest that I'd like to start this.

If you would join please dm this blog or @callisteios (my main blog) to let me know. I will require a name and an address for your partner to send your letter to

How it will work:

you will sign up with your details, once a month you will be matched with another person. Both of you will be expected to send a letter in that month to each other.

Once that's done that's all the club requires, if you want to continue your conversation you're free to, if not then don't. Next month you'll be given a new partner to send a letter to, and repeat.

Content:

Whatever the hell you want, transcribe your hinge profile, write a poem, talk about your job, draw a picture, send a pressed flower, describe your first experience being queer. go wild

Why?

Because it's nice to receive a letter in the post. because it's exciting to connect with new queer people. to connect with people you might otherwise never meet. because it's fun!

How does it work for every month? Like, if you got a partner in May do you just send them a letter and then get a new partner the next month. Or do you get a partner one month and that's it? Or is it like, if you didn't get a letter from your partner you can sign up for a new one the next month?

You get a new partner every month. Whether you continue your correspondence with other partners is entirely up for you.

If you don’t get a letter from your partner by the end of the month, do let me know.

How do/did you decide who to pair up with who?

Do you just randomly throw people together or is there some aspect that makes you match 2 people?

For this first month I’ve paired people completely at random (except where a country request has been made). I think that’s the best way to do this but it’s also the most practical

I toyed at one point with making a personality quiz or something and matching people like that. I think in the end it’s probably best to just let people find each other naturally

However, if anyone has any suggestions for ways to improve the group, I’m all ears
