I feel like some people need to relearn Genre Expectations... "Man, this tragedy sucks!!! Why didn't they just do XYZ, then everything could have ended happily!!" well, then it wouldn't be a tragedy, would it. "Man, this lighthearted teen romcom is terrible, it's so sappy and unrealistic!!" Well, yeah. If it had been gritty and dark, it wouldn't have been a lighthearted romcom, would it. Is the writing actually bad or are you just trying to order a milkshake from a Home Depot

In Catching Fire, Peeta and Katniss both make Haymitch promise that he will prioritize saving the other in the Quarter Quell. Both are angry with him afterward for breaking that promise and prioritizing the rebel plot. But the promise Haymitch chose to keep in the quell was the one he made to Lenore Dove, to not let the sun rise on another reaping.

i think it should be illegal to not have paper menus. and it should be illegal to only accept digital payments and not accept cash
generally making anything accessible only with a phone sould be illegal. like genuinely regulated by the govt and forbidden. IMO

I was listening to Taste by Sabrina Carpenter, and a Romitri au fic idea popped into my head.
Dimitri accepts Tasha's offer, and Rose deals with as best she can because she wants him to be happy. A few years go by, Rose is now at court as Lissa's guardian, and while out at a club/bar one night, she sees Tasha and Dimitri there, too.
Lissa and Christian invite them to join their group and catch up, and Rose realizes that she's very much not okay with seeing Dimitri sit so close to Tasha while Tasha has her hand resting familiarly on Dimitri's thigh.
Dimitri and Rose have a long moment of intense eye contact where something in her snaps and she begins desperately willing Dimitri to feel how much she loves him, how much she's missed him and how much she's hurting right now. It gets worse when Lissa brings up when they might start having children, and Rose decides she can't be there for that part of the conversation. So, she gets up and decides to go on stage where there's karaoke, because Rose-logic, and ends up singing Taste while making a lot of eye contact with Tasha.
What Rose doesn't know, what no one really knows, is that Dimitri and Tasha aren't really together. They tried when he first left with her, but it soon became obvious that he wasn't over Rose yet, so Tasha agreed to give him more time and they ended up settling into a semi awkward dynamic where they are Moroi/Guardian but Tasha will also be more casual/familiar in her physical closeness/contact and every now and then she'll try and to convince Dimitri that they should try again.
After Rose's performance, Tasha decides it's time for her to seduce Dimitri. So she waits until he goes to the bathroom and follows him in where she begins touching and kissing him. To her delight, Dimitri is responsive and surprisingly enthusiastic.
He ends up lifting her up on the counter. She has her legs around him and is moaning as he kisses her neck and presses their bodies together. Then Dimitri whispers, "Roza," and Tasha freezes as all her hopes and dreams come crashing down around her.
She had been close to Dimitri for years. They had a deep bond, and she loved him. She could give him everything, absolutely everything he could ever want. So why? Why couldn't he let go of Rose Marie Hathaway? Why could he never once say her name like that? As if it was the most beautiful thing in the world, overflowing with so much love and devotion that it was immeasurable, incomprehensible, and indestructible.
Tasha pushes Dimitri away from her, her tear filled eyes meeting guilty ones. "Tasha, I-" but Tasha doesn't let him finish. She can’t bear to hear an apology from him now, so she simply shakes her head and pushes past him.
Tasha makes up a half-hearted excuse to leave early but encourages Dimitri to stay as long as he wants. They're all safe within the wards of court, after all. And as she's leaving, she looks back and sees Dimitri and Rose having another intense moment of eye contact, speaking to each other in a way no one else can understand and her eyes go from teary to hard.
It's not long after that night that Rose is arrested for the murder of Queen Tatiana.
Consider this prompt up for grabs.

katniss really is the world's best pov character. she is: obtuse, cynical, unobservant, delusional, hostile, paranoid, and flat out not interested in what is going on around her. I'm not being sarcastic I sincerely love reading a narrator who is lying to herself and the reader constantly. it just brings me joy

i have always been vaguely aware that my completely un-fandom-involved older brother uses ao3 but when i eventually dared ask him what he was reading on it today i could not have predicted that this whole time he has apparently been reading fics for shows & movies he hasn’t even seen. he just finds random fics and goes “that sounds cool” and reads them
