okay…. honestly when did it become cool to hate demi lovato. you know, demi lovato who has publicly spoken about her experience with disordered eating, self-harm, addiction, depression, and bipolar disorder. demi lovato who has been body positive for years, who has been talking candidly with the media in an attempt to connect with any young girl who feels the same way she did. demi lovato who refused to be shamed for her decision to leave tv during her recovery even though many people were pressuring her to see her show through. demi lovato who speaks often about her experience growing up as a mexican american, and has for years. y’all need to evaluate exactly why ur hating on demi lovato for a few tweets that come across as “annoying” or “haughty” when this is what’s stacked against it. i mean, to each their own, but no other artist i’ve seen live has spoken to her audience for upwards of ten minutes about removing the stigma around mental illness and quieted her audience for a moment of silence for people around the world fighting for their rights, so. by all means call her out if/when she does anything problematic/on things she did in the past but i really don’t understand why y’all are going after her when she really hasn’t done anything recently and when y’all would so easily forgive these same exact things/worse things in male celebs. pls ask urself why ur holding demi to a higher standard, and why exactly it’s so easy for you to hate on her.
