loved the summary!!!!!
Rainy days: Chapter 1
Relationship: Kageyama Tobio / Hinata Shoyo
Summary: "There's justâ something about rainy days. Something that makes him feel like his ribs are just a tiny bit more open for anything to flow inside his chest, like his lungs will swallow down anyone's words and shoot them straight to his heart, like his head is just a tad easier to get into. He feels open, almost vulnerable. It's not necessarily badâ not when people tend to know better than to mess with him, anyways." (Or: Sharing warm breakfast, and Kageyama's complicated feelings about rainy days)
Tags: SO MUCH hurt/comfort, fluff and angst, cuddling, touch-starved kageyama, mentions of parental abuse/neglect, sharing clothes & beds, cuddling, getting together. Pre-timeskip, set in their first year.

âUse your hand.â
Kageyamaâs voice was low, strained, his dark eyes fixed on you as he sat back against the headboard, his legs spread, cock heavy and flushed in your grip.
You swallowed, fingers wrapping a little tighter around his length as you stroked up, then down, watching the way his breath hitched.
âNot like that,â he muttered, his hand twitching against the sheets. âTighterâyeah, just like that.â
You followed his instructions, your palm gliding over him with more pressure, your thumb teasing over the leaking tip.
Kageyama groaned, head tilting back slightly before he forced himself to watch. âFuckâgo slower. Wanna feel all of it.â
You bit your lip, dragging your hand down his shaft with agonizing slowness, then back up, your thumb circling over his slit just to tease him.
His breath stuttered, his thighs tensing. âDonât get cocky,â he muttered, his voice rough, but there was a flicker of desperation beneath it. âYou donât get to tease meâmove your hand faster.â
You obeyed, your strokes turning slick and rhythmic, the wet sound of it filling the room.
âFuck,â Kageyama groaned, his fingers digging into the sheets. âYouâre so good at thisâfeels so fucking good.â
His hips twitched up into your hand, chasing the friction, and you smirked. âYouâre so desperate, Tobio.â
His jaw clenched, his breath ragged. âShut up,â he muttered, but his cock throbbed in your grip, betraying just how much he loved this.
âYou close?â you asked, tightening your fingers slightly, watching the way his abs tensed.
âYeah,â he rasped, his hands flying up to grip your wrist. âFuckâdonât stop, donât fucking stopââ
You didnât. You kept stroking, faster, tighter, watching him fall apart under your touch, his groans turning desperate as he came, thick ropes of cum spilling over your hand, his body shuddering as he gasped your name.
For a moment, all he could do was pant, his dark eyes locked onto you as you lifted your hand to your lipsâyour tongue flicking out to taste him.
His breath caught.
âFuck,â he muttered, his voice thick. âDo that again.â

Nasty Dog! | Kuroo Tetsurou x f!reader

7.- Part seven
masterlist here<3
cw. MDNI. fem! reader. delinquent! reader. use of yn. smut. p in v. brat reader, brat tamer kuroo (we love that around these parts). power struggle. cowgirl. kuroo being a whiny fuck. lemme know if i missed anything ;3 wc. 5.8k an. a little break from the shitshow y'all but be ready lol. comments and reblogs are always appreciated<3
Kuroo's house smelled like clean laundry and the faintest trace of his cologne. The air was cooler inside, still holding the chill from when he'd opened the window that morning.Â
You kicked off your boots in the genkan, too tired to hide the slight hitch in your breath as the adrenaline drained from your body, letting out a sigh and flexing once more your bruised hand.
"That fucker has a strong face, I'll give him that."
Kuroo was already rummaging in the bathroom. You heard the click of a cabinet, the rattle of a first-aid box.
By the time you went upstairs and stepped into his room, he was sitting on the edge of his bed, kit open beside him, sleeves rolled up to his elbows.
"Sit," he said quietly, nodding to the spot beside him.
The springs of his bed creaked slightly when you sat down.
He took your hand in his like it was breakable. Turned it over in his palm, inspecting the busted knuckles. When the antiseptic hit, it burned deep. You hissed and looked away, jaw locked.
"Sorry," he muttered, frowning.
His fingers moved with careâmore than you were used to. The guys would've just slapped a band-aid on it and called it character-building. Kuroo was deliberate and meticulous. Like if he wrapped it right, maybe it wouldn't hurt so badly underneath.
"You twisted into the punch?" he asked, almost to himself.
"Yeah," you mumbled. "Didn't mean to split it, though."
"You've got good form."
You snorted. "Thanks. My old man taught me."
When he finally finished wrapping your hand, he didn't let go. Just held it, thumb brushing the edge of the gauze, like he didn't want to stop touching you.
"Who was it?" he asked.
Your stomach coiled.
You should've told him. The whole storyâhow you'd had a one-time thing with Junpei, how he wasn't over it, how he started talking shit about you and Emi. How the word slut made your blood boil.
If you were smarterâor learned more from your past communication fuckups with Kurooâyou would've said everything right then and there. Spilled it out and fixed it before it could actually become a problem.
But you didn't answer.
His jaw ticked, but he didn't push.
Instead, his gaze lifted to yoursâsteady, unreadable. "You hit him for Emi, didn't you?"
You nodded. And he nodded back.
No judgment. No questions. Just a quiet understanding that made something behind your ribs tighten.
He let go of your hand with a defeated sigh, then slid two knuckles under your chin, tilting your face toward his. The action sent a shiver of anticipation down your spine.
"You're such a pain in the ass," he murmured, serious. But you didn't miss the way his eyes jumped down to your lips when he spoke.
You tilted your head and cocked a brow in a quiet challenge, watching his pupils dilate at the sight of your smirk.
"Be honest. You love that I'm a little rough around the edges."
His mouth twitched into a crooked half-smile.
"Yeah? You think I get hard over you being a walking red flag?"
You leaned in, voice low and lips inches away from his. "I think you do. You literally are right now."
"TouchĂŠ."
For a second, the weight of the day hovered between youâsore knuckles, rumors you couldn't outrun, the silence you were too scared to fill. Kuroo didn't pull away, but he didn't lean in either. Not like he usually did. Not like he wanted to be the one to start.
So you asked.
"Will you kiss me?" Voice lower. Honest.
His brows lifted just slightly, caught off guard. "You asking nicely?"
"I need it," you admitted. "Need you. Right now."
Then his mouth was on yoursâhot, hungry. The tension snapped like a live wire.
He kissed you like he was rewarding you for asking so sweetly. Like he'd been holding it in all day. Hot hands slid up your back, dragging your body tight against his, his tongue sliding over yours in a kiss that was filthy and wet and so full of want it left you gasping. You bit his bottom lip. Tugged his hair.
And thenâhe slowed.
Broke the kiss, forehead pressed to yours, panting.
"You okay?" he murmured, brushing his nose against yours.
"Yeah." You swallowed, breath shaky. "Better now."
His hand slid under your shirt, slow and deliberate, fingers dragging over your ribs. But you knew that look in his eyesâthat careful hesitation. That maddening tenderness he defaulted to when he thought you were on edge.
You grabbed his collar and tugged him in.
"Tetsurou. Don't treat me like I'm gonna break."
That made something flicker behind his eyesâsomething darker. Familiar.
"Then don't act like you want to."
You shoved him back onto his bed.
He landed with a surprised huff, propping himself up on his elbows, shirt tugged halfway up from the scuffle.Â
The sight of himâflushed, hair mussed, lips swollenâset your pulse thrumming.
"Is that how we're doing this?" he asked, eyes sparking with challenge.
You crawled over him, straddling his waist, your busted hand braced carefully beside his head while the other slid under his shirt. He was already half-hard beneath you, starting to strain against the fabric of his pants.
"Unless you're too tired, captain."
His grin was wicked, eyes darkened.
"Oh, you're really asking for it tonight. I'm gonna fuck the attitude right out of your mouth."
You gave your hips a slow, teasing roll. His brows furrowed and a low moan slipped from his lips.
"Then shut me up already."
With a groan, he flipped you under him like it was nothingâhands pinning your wrists, mouth dragging down your neck, kissing every inch like he needed to taste the proof you were here, alive, his.Â
It was rough in the way you likedâhis grip a little possessive, teeth grazing your collarboneâbut always with that frustrating tenderness underneath. Like no matter how wild it got, he was still holding something back. Still keeping you safe.
He pulled away from you to take off his shirt and grab a condom from his nightstand. You stared at his naked torso with your lip between your teeth all lean, lazy muscle, and half-tamed chaos. Impossibly hot.
He climbed on top of you, mouth crashing into yours againâfilthy and deepâone hand back to pinning your wrists while the other dragged down your body. Shirt shoved up. Your thighs already falling open for him.
When his fingers slid into your underwear, you whimpered into the kiss.
"Fuck," he hissed, rubbing slow circles against your clit. "You're dripping. You like fighting that much?"
You bit his lip and tugged at your pinned wrists.
"Shut up. You're just that hot, alright?"
That earned you a sweet smile and two fingersâdeep and slow, curling just right. Your back arched, thighs shaking as he kept grinding the heel of his palm against your clit with every thrust.
"God, listen to you," he muttered. "You act so tough and you're melting for me. You wanna cum on my fingers like a good girl?"
"Not enough," you breathed. "I want your cock."
"Oh, now you're polite."
You laughedâbreathless, shakingâan aggressive warning slipping past your lips. "Tetsurou..."
He groaned at the rough sound of his name on your throat. Then he tugged your underwear off, kissing down your stomach, over your knees, and into your inner thighs. Nipping and biting as your fingers laced through his hair.Â
He licked a filthy stripe through your folds, slow and hot, then gave your clit a single, hard suckâjust to tease. Just to watch you squirm.
"I should make you beg since you wanna be a brat," he said against your core. The vibration made a shiver run up your spine.
"You should just shut up and fuck me."
He growledâlow, dangerousâand fumbled out of his shorts. You barely caught a glimpse of him slipping a condom on before he was lined up, head brushing your entrance.
You moaned into his mouth, legs wrapping tight around his waist as he filled you, tip snuggling right into your cervix, stretching you open inch by inch. You clawed at his back, gasping, struggling to pull the air he fucked out of you back into your lungs.Â
He didn't move right awayâjust stayed there, deep inside you, forehead pressed to yours again.
"You feel so fucking good," he groaned. "Like you were made for me."
You squeezed around him, egging him on. Begging him to move.
He started thrustingâhard, deep, just rough enough to steal the breath from your lungs. His hand found yours againâyour bruised oneâand laced your fingers together like he needed to anchor you to him. Every thrust hit perfectly, your moans got louder, more desperate, each wet slap pushing you closer to the edge.
He read your body like it was his favorite book. When your hips stopped meeting his halfway, your eyes rolled back, and your nails clawed at his back like you were trying to stay groundedâhe knew you were about to break.
"You close?" he panted, his thrusts getting rougher, deeper. Dying to feel you come undone around him.
You nodded frantically, tears pricking at the corners of your eyes.
"Don't stopâah! Tetsurou~"
He grunted, fucking you harder, messier. You gasped, legs trembling, until white-hot pleasure snapped in your core all at once. You cried out, body tensing, pulsing through your orgasm as his name fell from your mouth like prayer.
Kuroo nearly lost it right then.
"F-fuck. That's itâthat's so hot."
He slowed just enough to kiss youâhard and breathlessâfucking you through the aftershocks, still clinging to the edge of his own climax.
You pushed gently on his chest and he stopped instantly, eyes searching yours to see if something was wrong.
The look you gave himâhair messy, lips swollen, sprawled across his pillowâcould have ended him right there.
"Let me get on top."
Your voice was hoarse, still trembling with release. But you needed to see him. Needed to watch him fall apart.
His eyes flared with surprise, but he didn't argue. He eased out with a groan and rolled onto his back. You climbed over him and guided him back in, and he gripped your hips hard as you sank down with a hiss, letting out a strangled moan.
"Oh my godâfuckâ" The noises slipping out of his throat made a satisfied smile tug at your lips.
You set a rhythm. Slow. Torturous. Rocking your hips slowly every time you sank back down. Watching him unravel.
"Look at you now," you purred, leaning close. "Thought you liked being in control."
His head tipped back with a helpless moan, hands digging into your hips like he was holding on for dear life.
You rolled again, deeper. He cried outâloud, desperate.
"Ahhâahhh f-fuckfuckfuckâ"
You picked up the pace, watching his jaw slacken, brows knit together. Sweat dripped from his jaw, down his neck. His Adam's apple bobbed as he tried to hold himself together.
His hands slid down to your ass, squeezing hard.
"Shit, babyâplease..." he moaned. "Just like thatâdon't stop."
His voice cracked.
"Tetsurou~" you teased, teeth grazing his ear. "You gonna come for me like this? So easy?"
You shifted just slightly and he lost itâstarted thrusting up into you with abandon. His tip kissed your cervix and his pelvis rubbed your clit and he was so vocal. You were spiraling again.
"Mmhffâ IâI can'tâfuck, I'mâ"
He slammed your hips down one more time and came with a shoutâloud, high, wrecked. His whole body bucked, hot pulses spilling deep as he whimpered through his orgasm.
You came right afterâshaking, fluttering around him so tight it dragged the last of his climax out with a helpless gasp. He didn't think it was possible to feel this good while still coming.
You slowed, rolling through the aftershocks. He twitched inside you, arms wrapping around your waist like he needed to keep you still or he'd unravel again.
You collapsed on his chest, lips brushing sweat from the curve of his neck.
Kuroo looked wreckedâkiss-bruised, hair sweat-slicked, eyes glassy. His hands shook faintly as they gripped your hips.
"You okay?" you murmured against his skin, nuzzling the dip between his collarbones.
He huffed a broken laugh.
"Define okay."
You grinned, smug and satisfied as you kissed along his throat, the edge of his jaw. He was bonelessâsoft, pliant, letting you mouth at him like he had nothing left to give. All that volume now a sad, sweaty flop, and you couldn't stop grinning as you dragged your nails lazily down his sides and he made a pathetic little sound.
"You get all whiny when I ride you," you murmured, nipping his throat. "It's cute."
"I do notâ" he started, voice ruined.
"You do," you cut him off. "All needy and desperate and sweet. Gonna cry next time?"
He smacked your ass, more affectionate than punishing.
"Shut up."
You laughed, curling into him as he pulled the blanket over both of you. His hand dragged up your back, the other cradling your head as he held you tight against his chest, still catching his breath.
He was quiet for a beat, his thumb caressed the gauze over your knuckles. Then, softly:
"I've seen you fight before, you know."
You lifted your head slightly to glance at him.
"What, like... really fight?"
He nodded. Sitting up to tie the condom and throw it away.
"Out behind that sketchy little karaoke two stations over. You cracked some dude's nose with a mean left hook and then two jabs to his stomach. It was gnarly. He landed a punch on you but you just kept going until he was out cold."
You blinked.
"That was like years ago."
"I remember," he said, putting on his boxers and slipping into bed again. "You had blood on your knuckles and this look in your eye like you'd do it again."
You raised a brow, looking at him with a teasing smirk.
"Was I cool? Did that make you wanna fuck me?"
"That made me wanna know you," he said, voice soft but sure. "I remember the way you smiled when you wiped the blood off your lips. Like it wasn't a big deal. Like you'd done it a hundred times. Like you enjoyed it."
You rolled your eyes and buried your face in his neck.
"Don't get all poetic about it. I just fucked up a guy that grabbed Emi's ass."
"I'm not judging," he murmured. "I just think you're better than throwing hands in alleyways."
You narrowed your eyes at him playfully. "Are you trying to get me to join a boxing gym or something?"
He shrugged, eyes flicking to the ceiling. "I dunno. Maybe. Just think you're wasting your punches on high school trash. You're strong. Smart too, when you give a shit."
You smiled faintly, letting his words settle before nudging his cheek with your nose.
"What, you want me to play volleyball?" You purred.
That made him snort, eyes crinkling. "You'd spike like a monster, I bet."
"Oh yeah?" you teased. "Gonna train me, coach?"
He looked at you for a second too long, the wheels in his head visibly turning. Then he sat up suddenly, startling you.
"Wait. Actually. I got the key to the volleyball gym. We should go."
You blinked. "What, like... now?"
"No, not nowâJesus, I can't even feel my legs," he groaned dramatically, flopping back into the pillows. "But tomorrow morning, before class, before morning practice. I'll teach you how to serve. Maybe a little footwork. You'll suck at first but I'll make you decent."
You laughedâgenuine and full-belliedâand something about the way his face lit up made your chest ache a little.
He looked stupidly excitedâlike he was already planning drills in his head, imagining your form, your footwork. And beneath all of it, you felt the quiet thrum of what he wasn't saying:
I want you in my world. Stay a while.
You softened and kissed his cheek, then melted into the warmth of his chest again.
"Alright, captain," you said quietly. "You're on."
His arms tightened around you instantly. "You're serious?"
"Yeah," you murmured. "You matter to me. So... maybe volleyball will too."
He didn't say anything at firstâjust held you closer, burying his face in your hair like he wasn't sure how to respond without giving too much away.
"You should stay over," he said after a moment. "My grandparents won't even know you were here. They come back tomorrow night."
You hesitated, not wanting him to get in troubleâbut the thought of falling asleep in his arms and waking up to him too was way too tempting to pass up.
"My, um..." you cleared your throat. "My underwear is ruined tho. Didn't bring another pair."
"We could... Wash it in the sink?"
You snorted.
"Sure? Why not."
You reached over the side of the bed, grabbed your phone and fired off a quick text to Emi:
:Â If my dad calls, I'm at your place.
It took her exactly ten seconds to reply.
Emi <3: ഌŕľŕ´Śŕ´ż ËÍĚęłËÍĚ )⧠Emi <3: tell Kuroo I say hi~ Emi <3: tell him to use deodorant (¡â˘áˇâŕĄâ˘áˇ
)
Kuroo peeked over your shoulder, grinning. "She say yes?"
"She said you stink."
He dragged you down into the pillows again, groaning. "Tell her I'm a fucking athlete."
You laughed into his shoulder. "She knows. That's why she's judging harder."
Kuroo just hummed, content, his hand tracing lazy circles over your bare back. One arm was thrown lazily over your waist, fingers twitching now and then like he couldn't not be touching you.Â
You were curled into his side, cheek resting against his chest, the steady rhythm of his heartbeat grounding you. Your legs tangled loosely under the thin comforter, your bodies still radiating that heat that didn't quite want to fade yet.
Your thumb idly dragged over your screen, rereading Emi's last text.
Your brows knit, barely noticeableâbut Kuroo caught it anyway.
"You okay?" he murmured, his voice low and a little hoarse.
You didn't answer right away.
Instead, you dropped the phone onto the mattress and rolled half onto your stomach, face turned into his chest like you could hide in the warmth of him.
"I'm worried about her." you finally said.
Kuroo's hand stilled on your back.
"Emi?"
You nodded, lips brushing his skin. You lifted your eyes to his face. He was watching youâgaze sharp but soft around the edges, like he was already trying to figure out how to help, even before he knew the full story.
"She said Hebinuma's spreading rumors about her again. Like what she's doing to us. I asked if she could hold on and she said she was fine."
"But you don't believe her."
"I want to." Your voice cracked a little.
Kuroo didn't interrupt. His hand moved againâwarm, steadyâtracing circles on your skin like he could smooth the edges of your thoughts.
"She's my girl," you said quietly. "My ride or die. I want to believe her. But..."
You didn't say the rest. You couldn't.
Not your secret to tell.
Hebinuma has her pictures.
Kuroo shifted under you and gently tugged the comforter higher over your hips, like covering you could offer comfort. Protection. Something.
"You think she's scared to tell you?"
"I think she's trying to protect me," you murmured bitterly. "Even if it means letting herself suffer for it."
Kuroo exhaled slowly. His thumb brushed your shoulder blade, and he dipped his head so his mouth was closer to your hair.
"Sound familiar?"
You curled your fingers into the soft fabric of the pillowcase. "I hate that she's going through it alone. I hate that I didn't notice sooner. And I hate that bitch Hebinuma."
Kuroo didn't laugh. Didn't make a smartass comment.
He just pressed a kiss to your temple. Quiet. Firm.
"You're not a mind reader," he murmured. "You're doing what you can. Emi knows you love her."
"But what if it's not enough?"
"It is," he said, with more certainty than you could summon. "Because you see her. You protect her. That matters."
You let out a breath you didn't know you were holding and closed your eyes, letting yourself sink into his warmth.
Another kissâthis time to the crown of your head. His hand slid up to cradle your neck.
"I've got your back," he whispered. "Always. Hers too, if she'll let me."
You bit the inside of your cheek, trying not to cry. "God, you're so fucking good."
He smirked into your hair. "I know right? I'm an angel."
Just as the quiet started to settle again, the sound of a key turning in the front door echoed faintly through the apartment.
Kuroo froze. You both did.
He blinked like he was trying to process it in slow motion, then cursed under his breath and rolled out of bed so fast the blanket tangled around your legs.
"Shit. My grandparentsâ"
You sat up, clutching the blanket to your chest. "They're back?"
"I thought they weren't coming home 'til tomorrow night," he hissed.
He crossed to his dresser in nothing but his boxers, abs taut, one hand running through his disaster of bedhead.
He opened a drawer and rifled through it until he pulled out a worn black shirt with a faded band logo.
He tossed it to you without looking back. "That one's the softest. I wore it out, but I couldn't bring myself to get rid of it."
He flinched when a voice called his name. He cursed again, dragging open a second drawer and yanking out the first pair of sweatpants he touched. "Crap, crap, crapâokay, just stay here. Don't move. Don't even breathe."
You raised a brow. "They gonna hear me breathing?"
"I'm just panicking, let me have this," he muttered, tugging on a hoodie over his head. He was halfway to the door before spinning back to kiss your foreheadâfast, a little frantic. "I'll keep them downstairs. Don't come out unless it's to jump out the window."
"Kurooâ"
He turned, flashed you a grin that was half-charm, half-fear-of-god. "Y/N, I'm begging you. Just give me ten minutes before you start breaking house rules and parental trust... Grandparental trust?" he shook his head. "Anyway, I'll be right back."
Then he slipped out the door, gently easing it shut behind him.
You were left in his bed, tangled in the warmth he'd left behind, the scent of him still clinging to your skin and his shirt. You heard his voice downstairs a second laterâbright, casual, like he'd totally not just been naked in bed with his secret girlfriend.
His grandfather's deeper voice responded, muffled by the floorboards, followed by the lighter chime of his grandmother's laugh. You could just barely make out the exchange:
"Back already?" "The roads were clear." "You eat yet?" "Was gonna heat something up."
You imagined him moving around the kitchen, acting natural, trying to block any conversation about "heading upstairs." Probably throwing himself in front of the microwave like it owed him rent.
You took the time to properly look at his space. His room was dim, scattered in the quiet aftermath of everything you'd done. A few textbooks were stacked haphazardly on his desk. His bookshelf was tidyârows of science journals, a few cracked-spined novels, and manga hidden like guilty pleasures. The whole room smelled faintly like him: warm skin, cedar soap, the ghost of cologne, and something sharperâlike ozone and summer air and sex.
You sank into the pillow, heart finally slowing, and reached for your phone. A new notification buzzed the screen.
Emi <3: u alive??? /á . .á\ âł Emi <3: also pls tell me Kuroo has deodorant. now i'm worried ( ˜óáŻ
ò) Emi <3: also also i kno ur probably naked so i'll keep this short: hebinuma posted smth. i think it's about me
Your stomach dipped. You sat up slowly, blanket sliding down your thighs as you unlocked the screen.
:Â What did she say? You okay babes?
Emi <3:Â it's not super obvious. just a photo. hospital slippers. caption like "some people always end up back where they belong" Emi <3:Â she didn't tag me or anything. it's vague
:Â That's not vague. That's fucking intentional.
Emi <3:Â right.
Three dots. Then nothing.
You stared at the screen, jaw clenched, the muscles in your arms coiling up tight. Your first instinct was violence. The kind that came without thinking. You wanted to find Hebinuma and plant her face into the nearest wall until she got the message.
But.
You'd promised Kuroo you wouldn't. Promised him you'd handle it differently this time.
Your fists curled in the blanket. Your pulse was thudding in your ears.
:Â If she posts anything else you tell me right away.
Emi <3:Â i will. promise.
Another pause. A longer one.
:Â Don't do anything dumb. :Â I mean it.
Emi <3: ഌŕľŕ´Śŕ´ż Emi <3: u don't loose your cool n beat her up, she might go coo coo and spread the pics around Emi <3: now go fuck ur nerd or smt. ur stressin me out (ÂŹ'â¸'ÂŹ)(ÂŹ'â¸'ÂŹ)
:Â Fuck you.
Emi <3: u love me (ăĽďżŁÂłďżŁ)ăĽ
You exhaled, slow and shaky, pressing the heel of your hand to your eyes.
Because the truth wasâthis wasn't just petty rumors or high school cruelty anymore. It was calculated. It was cruel. It was Hebinuma digging up things that should've stayed buried just to prove she could still make someone hurt.
And Emi?
Emi had already lived through more than most people knew.
You didn't care what Kuroo said. If Hebinuma pushed her againâif she so much as hinted at taking this furtherâ
You weren't gonna stand back.
You'd try to find a way to burn her without breaking your promise.
But if you couldn't. Then something was better than nothing.
Because you weren't just gonna watch someone you love fall apart again.
Not this time.
You pulled Kuroo's shirt over your head, the cotton clinging to your still-warm skin like it had always belonged there. It hit mid-thigh and smelled unmistakably like him. Worn-in, washed a hundred times, soft as a sigh.
The collar slipped off your shoulder just enough to be criminal.
You padded to the window, phone still clutched in hand, watching the dusk creeping across the rooftops outside. The voices downstairs had faded into the hum of television and casual conversation. Laughter. The clink of plates. Safe, ordinary sounds that felt too far away from the cold twist still knotted under your ribs.
You turned, unsure whether to message Emi again or notâand froze when you saw him.
Kuroo stood in the doorway like he'd forgotten how to move.
His eyes dragged and locked on you. The oversized shirt. Your bare legs. The faint pink on your cheeks.
His own hoodie slung crookedly off one shoulder.
He didn't blink.
"...What?" you asked, glancing down at yourself.
His mouth parted like he was going to answer, but nothing came out. Then he closed his door and dropped to his knees, head low, ears pink, hand scrubbing down his face.
"That's actually not fair," he muttered.
You blinked. "You okay?"
He lifted his head, face flushed and a little wild. "No. No, I am not. Youâwearing my shirtâlooking at me like that? I'm actively malfunctioning." "This was your idea, genius."
"Yeah, and now I wanna drag you back under me and commit sins the pope couldn't forgive."
You laughedâquiet, full of relief you didn't know you needed. He crossed the room and flopped on his bed, you joined him under the sheets, your limbs brushing his immediately, heat passing between your bodies even through the fabric. You leaned in until your lips were just at his ear.
"Later."
He groaned like you'd stabbed him. "You're the devil."
You kissed the side of his throat, and he tilted his head like he was seconds away from changing his mind about "later."
But then you pulled back, eyes catching his, and your smile faded.
"Emi texted," you said softly.
Kuroo's posture shifted immediatelyâhe propped up on one elbow, brow furrowing. "Yeah? Everything okay?"
You hesitated. That same weight came backâlike gravity had doubled under your skin.
"She's not saying much. But Hebinuma posted something." You paused.
Kuroo's eyes darkened. "What did she post?"
You shook your head. "Doesn't matter. Not really. Emi knew it was aimed at her. And it rattled her."
His jaw ticked, and he sat up straighter. "Shit. You think she's okay?"
"I don't know." You looked down at your hands. "She's trying not to make it a big deal, but it is. It's Hebinuma poking old wounds. Ones I don't think ever really healed."
Kuroo was quiet for a second. Then he reached out and touched your thigh, grounding. "You scared?"
You nodded, barely.
He leaned in, resting his forehead against yours.
"I know I promised you I'd leave Hebinuma alone," you whispered. "But if she keeps going... if she keeps coming for Emi like thisâ"
"I know," he murmured.
Your eyes flicked up to meet his.
"I'll keep my promise," you said. "But I'm not just gonna stand back and watch her hurt someone I love."
Kuroo's breath caught a little at thatâmaybe the phrasing, maybe the fire in your voice.
Then he kissed your temple. His thumb traced idle circles into your skin.
"Hopefully it won't come to that," he said.
Eventually, the lights went out, and the room dimmed into quiet shadow. He slid into bed beside you, arm wrapping around your waist like it belonged there. Your fingers fidgeted with the hem of his shirt as your legs found each other again beneath the sheets.
The silence stretched, thick with everything neither of you wanted to say out loud.
You leaned into him, pressing your forehead to his shoulder. He wrapped his arm around you, steady and sure, and for a long moment, you just stayed there, wrapped in warmth and quiet.
Then his hand slipped under the hem of his shirtâfingertips brushing the back of your thigh like an idle thought.
"You are still wearing my shirt, you know," he said, voice low.
You smiled against his shoulder. "And?"
"I'm only human."
When you tilted your head to look at him, the air changed. His gaze caught yoursâdarker now, slow-burning, but softer than before. Less hungry. Fuller. Like you were something to be held, not consumed.
Maybe both.
He brushed a piece of hair behind your ear, his knuckles trailing down your cheek after.
"You've got no idea what you do to me when you wear my stuff."
You leaned in slowly, nose brushing his. "I think I'm starting to realize."
His mouth met yours with a tenderness that made your breath catch.
His hand slid up your spine, fingers threading into your hair as he deepened the kissâgentle, unhurried. His other hand rested on your bare thigh where the shirt had ridden up, thumb tracing lazy circles into your skin.
You shifted, swinging a leg over his hips, and he groaned softly against your mouth, head falling back just slightly like he was trying not to lose it.
"You're killing me," he murmured.
"You started it," you breathed, brushing your lips over his again, slower this time.
His hands settled at your waist beneath the fabric, pulling you flush against him. "I was being good," he whispered into your neck, lips trailing just under your jaw. "Trying to give you space."
"I don't want space," you said, barely audible.
He pulled back just enough to look at youâreally look.
"Just... stay with me," you whispered. "Like this. Don't let go yet."
That broke something in him. His hands tightened at your waist, and he kissed you like he'd never get the chance again. Deeper now. Needier. Still not rushing, but desperate in the way only someone trying to feel everything could be.
Your fingers tangled in his hair. His name slipped from your lips in between kisses, a breathless sound that made him shiver.
Shirt tangled between you, legs twined beneath the covers, he didn't press for more. Just kissed you slow, again and again, like he was reminding himself that you were here. Real. His.
And that you wanted him just as much.
Your fingers brushed the nape of his neck, playing with the edge of his hair, and he hummed against your mouth like he could melt into you if he tried hard enough. He shifted a little, careful not to make the bed creak too loudly.
"They'll hear us," you whispered, half-laughing into his jaw.
"Let them," he muttered, then sighed. "No, you're right. I'm being good. I'm so good right now."
You snorted. "This is you being good?"
"This is me being a goddamn saint."
But still, he didn't stop kissing you. Softer now. Slower. One hand curved against your back, the other resting at your waist beneath the shirt, like he couldn't stand to let go just yet.
Outside the bedroom door, the muffled clink of dishes and the low hum of his grandparents' voices filtered in through the old house walls.
But inside this roomâthis hush between two heartbeatsâyou were safe. Sheltered. Tangled up in Kuroo's shirt and his arms and the feeling that, maybe for now, this was enough.
He kissed your temple one last time and pulled you close, breath warm against your skin.
"You're trouble," he whispered.
You smiled against his collarbone. "And you like it."
Kuroo shifted just enough to tuck you both beneath the covers, curling one arm around your waist. His lips pressed to your shoulder in a lazy goodnight.
For a while, neither of you said anything.
Just the sound of your breathing. The warmth of the sheets. The way your heartbeat gradually steadied in time with his.
Then, in the dark:
"...Tetsurou?" you whispered into the stillness.
"Hm?"
"You ever shared a bed like this before?"
He didn't answer right away. You could feel him thinking, the way his fingers slowly traced the curve of your back beneath the fabric.
"No." he said at last, voice quiet and honest. "Not like this."
You shifted closer, cheek against his chest, breaths syncing up.
"You?"
"Never," you murmured.
A pause.
"I like it," he said softly.
You smiled against his skin. "Yeah. Me too."
His hand slid into your hair, fingers combing slow and sweet.
"You feel good?" he said after a while.
You hummed, eyelids fluttering. "You're warm. And way better than my lumpy mattress."
"I knew it," he whispered dramatically. "You only came over to upgrade your bed."
You grinned. "That and this shirt. It's mine now, by the way."
"Figures. Everything else of mine is already in your hands."
That one hit deeper than either of you expected.
He tightened his grip around your waist.
"...We're really doing this now, huh? You're mine now," he murmured, a little vulnerable, a little awed.
You looked up at him, eyes still sleepy, but certain. "We are."
He smiled into the dark, a slow curve of lips against your forehead, and didn't let go.
The room softened around you, shadows gentling into corners, the fan humming above in quiet rhythm. He shifted closer until your foreheads touched, his hand curling around your waist like instinct. You nuzzled your nose into the curve of his neck.
You could feel how warm he was, how relaxed. The kind of comfort that only came when your guard was down. When you knew someone had you.
You didn't even realise when you drifted to a comfortable sleep.

i definitely want to remember these <333
may fanfic recs!
some of these fics are rated e!
sakuatsu
The Hard Stuff e. 6.5k. the premise is sakusa wants to give atsumu a bj but it's more than that - it's a relationship study about boundaries and reciprocating for one another. a really wonderful read!
a star in the face of the sky (or, PROJECT: HOW TO GET ATSUMU A BOYFRIEND) t. 7.7k. atsumu admits to osamu that he's finally going to chase after his long-time crush and osamu, the one in an actual relationship, gives him a list of steps on how to do it. very cute read!
i got you (all figured out) t. 10.1k. bokuto is the team's big brother and when said big brother gets sick, who has to care for him? sakuatsu (and hinata). fun dynamics and dialogue, and of course, the confession is absolutely worth it.
the rhyming of the rain e. 25.8k. sakusa has been pining for atsumu since high school but never did anything about it, especially after atsumu gets a boyfriend. the pining is so, so strong in here. sakusa is so whipped for him, it makes you feel like you're not good enough for atsumu. (there's only one nsfw scene if that isn't your cup of tea but interested in the pining!)
over the edge of my bones m. 47.9k. 5/5. single dad atsumu with softy omi is an agenda you need to experience at least twice in your life, and the prose is absolutely immaculate. hikaru is a treasure that deserves to be protected.
iwaoi
Red, red, red t. 4.2k. at a sleepover, a survey is conducted on which seijoh player everyone would date. everyone chooses iwaizumi, and only one person chooses oikawa. i wonder who did đ
Circle of life t. 6.8k. iwa vs. buying pads for his daughter. i love girldads, especially girldads who'll do anything for their girl, like buying pads. made me nostalgic about my own experience when it happened to me.
tooru and hajime (and ushiwaka) go on vacation t. 8.6k. oikawa and iwa go on vacation and somehow, ushijima is there as well. very funny, and very fluffy.
tejano blue g. 12.4k. you have not read godly setting description until you've read this fic. it's iwaoi at the beach and iwa being utterly in love with oikawa. what's not to love? (this fic is part of a series but i believe you can read them separate, as i've only read tattoo your name across my heart so far and you should, too!)
the courtship ritual of the hercules beetle t. 66.3k. 3/3. it took me a long time to start this fic because of the word count-chapter ratio (i have a lot to say about word count-chapter ratios) but i went for it and i. do not. regret it. this focuses on oikawa as an entomologist reconnecting with iwa, pro volleyball player, after his marriage is called off. lots of bug imagery and symbolism, depictions of parental expectations, and top-class pining. highly recommended.
bokuaka
Behind Bricks e. 60.4k. 14/14. au where akaashi works as an escort and falls head over heels with bokuto. akaashi is so self-sacrificing in this fic, and his gradual acceptance that he can be loved is so, so satisfying. also, it's deathbelle. you cannot go wrong with deathbelle, ever.
sun, duck, and silence t. 61.6k. 5/5. THE PROSE IS IMMACULATE. lots of loving side characters, amazing akaashi character development, with a touch of magical realism. the result is this beautiful fic.
kagehina
promises to keep t. 4.5k. for kageyama's birthday, hinata makes a bunch of coupons for him to use. incredibly cute premise and increasingly fluffy prose. be prepared for your teeth to rot.
canât help (helping you) t. 7.7k. college au where hinata and kageyama compete to see who'll score higher on their final exam, except they help each other out and discover something else about their affections along the way.
waking up with you m. 8k. hinata wakes up naked next to kageyama and they didn't actually sleep together and he forgot, right...? kageyama agrees. until their teammates tell them otherwise. absolutely hilarious with top-notch dialogue.
plain as day t. 9.3k. in which kageyama notices hinata and continues to notice him over the years. i just loved the flow of this fic, all the different ways affection are explored, and kagehina getting together. very cute (can you see the trend where i like cute kagehina fics)
The Subtle Art of Getting Caught t. 83.7k. 11/11. thank you to @sorainhere for the rec! this was so damn cute to read - following kagehina's journey from high school through adulthood and retirement was so, so satisfying and fluffy. one of my favorites <3
other
denial t. 4.8k. 4 times tsukishima denies he cares about his teammates and 1 time he's called out for it. i just enjoy reading about the salty dinosaur showing he cares, even if he doesn't think he does.
Administer Mouth to Mouth m. 10.5k. sunaosa. au where osamu falls head over heels for suna, the sleepy receptionist at atsumu's gym. as someone who goes to the gym, i find these fics fun to read, and the dynamics are also hilarious.
a captain, a corner, and a parisian chocolate shop not rated. 10.8k. ushiten. ushijima (and nearly all of the jnt) visit a particular chocolate shop in paris during the olympics to help ushijima make a move on the redheaded chocolatier. very funny and cute!
Song of the Fireflies g. 17.7k. this is written by the same writer as Below Destiny, an ennoshita character study i very much enjoyed, and this is (not related) a tsukishima character study. it explores his arc during the tokyo training camp very well, and it reminded me a lot of my own mindset when i played sports (very brief but memorable). give this a read if you're a tsukki fan!

too much, too loud, too bright. not many people can handle you and thatâs fine! you know that, but still, it gets lonely sometimes, doesnât it? Atsumu knows what itâs like to be unabashedly oneself and wouldnât want anything else in a partner. youâre being a little mean to him? god, that only turns him on more. youâre his whole world and he loves seeing you blossom and bloom into the person that you are with him. âââ who set up your blind date: Sakusa // what does he bring: a signed photocard of himself // where are you going: fancy restaurant and drinks afterwards // do you kiss: he fumbles // do you meet again: yes because he really wants another chance to kiss you
i mean, not ideal and not a huge fan of him but whatever. i'm seriously jelly however of whoever got ukai. can we share?? :] <3
â¡ÍÍÍÍâłâĽ i made an uquiz where i sent you on a blind date with a haikyuu character and if you're reading this you're obliged to take it and share your result!! also rate my matchmaking service 5/5 â and tell your grandma about it please thank you

Tsukishima Kei Head Canons (Crushing, Confessing, and Dating <3)
Tsukishima Crushing on You is him fighting himself, his heart against logic. He tells himself that he's not into you, just likes having you around, or he'll tell himself that his crush is just a phase and it'll pass eventually. Spoiler alert, it doesn't.
Tsukishima Crushing on You is subtle, almost nonexistent from an outsiders pov. He doesn't flirt but he'll tease you, correct things on homework, and act annoyed when you thank him for things he usually wouldn't do for others.
Tsukishima Crushing on You is him making playlists that remind him of you. One filled with your favorite songs; another filled with the songs he can't listen to without thinking of you. Music is the best way for him to put the feelings he's conflicted with out into the world. ______________________________________________________________
Tsukishima Confessing to You is awkward, stiff, and way more vulnerable than he would have liked but he couldn't help the way you make him feel. There's no music, no dramatic rain, just honest words falling from his lips before he has the chance to think twice.
Tsukishima Confessing to You is his heartfelt confession mixed with insults and uncomfortable shuffling. "This is so stupid... I like you, okay? I hate saying it, but I do, I really. Really do." His eyes look anywhere but yours as he speaks, his ears and cheeks burning red as he tries to stay composed best he can.
Accepting Tsukishima's Confession is his eyes finally meeting yours, wide and unsure. It's the only time he hasn't had a snarky comeback to any of your words. He blinks a few times before smirking slightly, nerves still running through him, but he keeps cool. "Good." He says simply before waving goodbye and walking away after dropping you off at your own house in a mix of awkward yet oddly comforting silence. That night he can't keep the smile off his face in him room, his brother asked questions, but he brushes them off. ______________________________________________________________
Dating Tsukishima is quiet affection and small moments. It's him walking you to school, your hands brushing multiple times before he finally holds it in his hands, his ears tinged pink as he looks away from you and a comfortable silence follows.
Dating Tsukishima is the walls he's meticulously built up coming down more and more as he spends time with you. It's whispers about his family, his childhood, his insecurities, it's all the things he's never been able to talk to anyone about (apart from those who lived it with him.)
Dating Tsukishima is his forehead resting against yours when he's too shy to kiss you. It's sharing earbuds on train rides and him pushing his glasses up when he tried to hide his blush. It's him looking at you like you hung the stars in the sky when you're not looking.
Dating Tsukishima is his pinky finding yours under the table at lunch. It's the kind of love that takes time and patience, the kind where you both have so much to learn, and you do it together. It's where he shows his affection through actions more than words, but when he does say them? It's in the quiet moments, when his voice is soft and his hand moved to cradle your cheek. Dating Tsukishima is every moment alone he has with you is when you see his true self, the front he puts up in public is still him, but you get to see all of him. You see his flaws, his highs, and his lows. You see everything he has to give, and he's grateful to have you as his person.

yeah, this definitely feels true đ
đ <333
It's my personal headcanon that Kageyama and Iwaizumi simply cannot sync up as setter and spiker. Like in middle school it wasn't super noticeable because Kageyama was only a first year, but then much later when Iwa's working with him as the national team trainer, they (+ a few others, whoever is around) start goofing off and toss a few sets and they simply cannot make it work. Like Iwa's hitting it, but it's really not powerful and not at all what they'd hope, everything slightly off. At first they think maybe Iwa's just out of practice? So he warms up a bit and then Atsumu does a set for him and BAM nope okay that's not it. Iwa's definitely still got it. What the hell is going on? Kageyama tries to set for him again and Iwa hits it out of bounds and they're so frustrated because really what the hell is this??? This is not the magic they're used to feeling from the game.

NEW PHYSICS IDEA : Neutron negative charge - Positron in orbitals with Electron ? Any Ideas?
Hello Physics People of Tumblr!! These are some new ideas about molecular physics it seems to make so much more sense? What do you think! It has almost identical outcomes to the current math but big implications for gravity, time and radiation. It is a lot to read, check it out if you like or want to help! No schools of offices are responding about it via email, maybe you know?! The proposed ideas here are written as sentences, not questions but it has not been proven yet! Would you like to help or send this info to someone who can and is interested, feel free! :)
Proposals:
Neutron is negative charge
Positron is part of the orbitals with the Electron
NEUTRON AND POSITRON CANCEL OUT IN THE MATH
The Proton and Neutron are net positive, (nucleus)
The Electron and Positron are net negative (orbitals).
PHOTON is an Electron and Positron 'orbiting'. "Color" is the radius of the 'orbit'.
All periodic table of elements always have all 4 particles in equal quantity or are radioactive (a few notes on this below)
Radiation is Electron, Positron or both, aka PHOTON. (see below for more about photons & this idea as well)
The Earth has mass, aka more shared electrons/positron pairs, aka more positive charge. This positive charge is what we call GRAVITY.
As far as TIME: Positive charge = time is faster, negative charge = time is slower, so time dilation still applies.
It may be that we are close to the positive charge 'nucleus' of the Earth (more shared valence electrons via more "mass" means less negative net charge) and the electromagnetic field above acts like 'orbitals' w/ net negative charge (positron and electron slightly negative net charge, as ). The orbitals of our molecules are negative and are pulled toward the Earth and we call it 'gravity'. It is still time dilation as positive charge makes time go faster and negative slower. Time would be at absolute zero at the electromagnetic field at the perimeter of the universe, or close to it. Here, there is still the positive charge of the Sun pulling within the negative charge of the electromagnetic field, so time is not zero, but slow. The slowing of time is like a prism, but since it is not parallel (it is a torus shape?) no one could pass through because their molecules would be splayed out in time. Meteors would break up and congeal like magma on the other side, no problem for gas. Just a few thoughts on that!
Time is non-flat and space is infinite-flat and varies in overall 'size' based on the complexity of the system at the time.
For instance, quantum world and classical world have many possible outcomes, but only one thing happens. The other uncollapsed possibilities radiate away as SPACE. This may have a similar coefficient to the relationship between energy and matter; "the square of a large number" multiplied by "uncollapsed timelines" = "space".
Imagine slow motion lighting; it forks and 'tests' many areas and eventually one trajectory "happens" but the energy from the others was real and radiates away as HEAT in the surrounding atmosphere. That would be mechanical motion/momentum as heat. So, this is similar to the hypothesis here related to time, and expansion. Eventually, everything radiates away as photons or individual particles and each is far enough from each other so as to never interact again, and the timelines are identical again and there is only 1 unit of space again. Infinite bosons in 1 unit of space until they move apart and/or 2 things could happen but it doesn't immediately cancel back to a "stable" singular timeline etc. Maybe not be "infinite bosons in 1 unit of space" as much as many bosons in a significant minimum of space. That 'starting condition' may determine a lot for our world?
This would explain the bubble around the galaxy as well. For instance life on Earth has so many possible outcomes and only one thing happens. The other possibilities radiate away as SPACE. So expansion at a hot cloud is faster than a cold cloud of gas, and where there is life the expansion is huge. Does that explain polar orientation of satellite galaxies, if expansion is roughly emitted from a torus shape? A lot to think about! Are large voids a sign of life on a cosmic scale? Is our galaxy a rare example of a galaxy interacting with many galaxies on the periphery of the local bubble as it is a rare example of a galaxy with life?!
Superclusters (Great Attractor, Shapley Cluster) are the nucleus of a molecule that expanded during a "big bang" type event.
At that moment, did something like hydrogen or helium expand so much that the orbitals slowed down to the point that the positron and electrons were going slow enough to become classical and annihilate (more about photons below)? That would leave the neutron and proton or pair of them alone and that 'gravity' of the Great Attractor may be the positive/negative net charge of the nucleus?
Strong force and weak force are electrodynamics between Electron, Positron, Proton and Neutron.
Energy is stored between the orbitals and the nucleus.
Photons can remain exclusive in their interaction (not impact the molecule) while orbiting the nucleus, and can those photons be 'digested' (similar to the way plants may) when the water needs more particles for the orbitals? If the energy storage capacity is met "black body radiation" takes place and photons spill out, (in the case of water they have a diameter/frequency in the ultraviolet range). Red is not darker than black if you are not colorblind (if you get an infection in the 'cavernous sinus' cleared out) so the brightness of steel turning red for instance is energy spilling out that was added in with heat.
Strong force is clearly the proton and neutron having magnetic interaction, pretty straightforward.
Weak Interaction is this the electrodynamics of lets say a neutron (negative charge) trying to get through the orbitals and being repelled by the electron (negative), attracted to the positron (positive), repelled by photons between the core and orbitals (negative) and possibly pulling positrons close enough to the nucleus that protons repel it (not an "antineutrino" ... a positron)
4th & 5th Phase of Matter
Do molecules have more to do with the locations of nucleus, when on Earth, but can have more to do with orbitals further from Earth or any significant charge? In an area with a lot of charge (aka gravity) and/or a lot of turbulence (aka temperature and density etc) the arrangement of the nucleus shapes complex compound orbitals we could model with this new electrodynamics idea. Further out, do the racetrack-like inertias of the orbitals have less resistance to become larger and the nucleus is inside those shapes like a seed in a seed pod. Is a molecule as we know it more than a shrink-wrapped action-figure (shrinkwrapped by the orbitals?).
When a tree branch is close to the tree it is largely related to the center of the branch, but at a certain point it becomes stems, and leaves ie a 4th and 5th phase, which expand to fit their container but are basically solids?
Is "phase 5" a gas but, even though molecules are a couple meters apart, the molecules interact like a 3d 'solid' lattice, like huge jello water molecules? In which case if a bunch were a couple meters wide evenly distributed and a charge was introduced on one side, would the structure become asymmetrical, but remain transparent? Would the orbital shells have different characteristics at interplanetary space, interstellar space, intergalactic/cosmic space etc, as pressure and density goes down? Could water molecules be 10 meters across in places, and deform in a cool way based on charge characteristics around them from particles and the electromagnetic fields nearby?
When the ice-gas starts to move enough, can it become opaque, but still have characteristics where it is moving like a solid? In that case, does it become a solid (snow) which interacts-at-a-distance somewhat like phase 5 but opaque and solids moving together not individual molecules? Does it become an opaque liquid like clouds? Lots of observations to make about that and modeling of the different scales could be cool. Could dark matter be water molecules in this state, and at a certain radius from any star they vaporize, becoming 'non-interacting' but still impacting overall gravity aka overall charge? I suppose that wouldn't have to all be water? So is there a 3d ocean in the middle of the galaxy we call 'dark matter' - are we floating on it? Is there something similar around the Sun, such that those 'leaves' or 5th-state materials act differently beyond the frost line etc?
re: "Always equal amounts of 4 particles" Something like copper for instance appears NOT to have the same amount of each of the 4 particles. The issue there is that there are 3 orbitals, so measurement from outside the orbitals appears to have more negative charge, so we would say "more mass". We will have to redo the periodic table, but its much easier! (Sort of an "Occam's razor" situation here?)
Photon ideas
The speed of the dance is the color or 'frequency' and the angular momentum has to do with the diameter? The "magnetic wave" of the photon is because we're observing the electron, then the positron, then the electron, then the positron, as it spins, producing an observation similar to 'magnetic wave'. The "electric wave" of the photon is the center of charge oscillating around the center of rotation, as the electron and positron are not equally charged. The center of charge is along a straight line between the two particles, but they may not be orbiting at 180 degrees? I still haven't exactly figured out how the fast-time of the positron and the slow-time of the electron exactly impact this arrangement.
Photosynthesis is based on a physical structure that 'observes' a photon long enough for positron and electron to cancel out, creating negative charge that interacts with positive charge of Earth.
Do photosynthesizing plants have a structure that 'observes' a photon, causing it to have a single, classical condition. The positron and electron usually cannot 'see' each other but have a center of charge and a yin-yang looking probability where each could be found. When they become classical they COULD interact, but by the time they've moved toward each other even the smallest amount - they are already quantum again! So do plants have a structure designed to capture the radius of the photon, and 1 planksecond later is the correct diameter to observe again after however far the particles have moved toward each other electrodynamically, and after how far they have moved toward the plant at the speed of light. Could that structure trace the geometry of the collapsing photon-remaining-classical until it cancels out, leaving a net negative charge (orbitals net negative, or positron/electron pairs net negative aka light has mass)
So, to reiterate; before the pair goes back to quantum mode, (during which time the electron and positron have no location and cannot annihilate) the plant structure bumps-observes the photon AGAIN. This would be related to the speed of light, almost like a planck-length later, there's a narrower portion of a cone-like shape tracing the distance the pair travel toward each other and continually 'observing' them. Ultimately, the two have a chance to meet and cancel out, leaving a net-negative charge. When that happens, it interacts with the positive charge of the Earth and the movement of energy 'turns on' the plant like a lightbulb?!?!
Do our lungs grab energy that way? Does our spleen grab excess energy off blood cells that were unused and incorporate it into our electromagnetic field (which is visible in a cool way in RGB if you do 10^15, 10^18, 10^21 or something similar for the RGB channels respectively. It'll look especially cool in color once we get the cavernous sinus cleared out! Until then we may check each of those ranges in the green channel or on all 3 the same for b&w).
Sea level is not rising, continents are pulled into the magma because nuclear proliferation is increasing 'gravity' aka the positive charge of the Earth by removing Neutrons from mineral layers? More on this below!
re: Radiation (this last idea is a long one but has a few other ideas embedded as well. if you read this far, you might be intrigued! feel free to tell anyone or do your own research!!)
The idea is that radiation is "having extra neutrons or lacking them", and the electrodynamics associated with that negative charge. (These characteristics are particularly important when molecules bump or "observe" each other and a roll-of-the-dice configuration of the 4 particle types is specific and real.) The neutrons reduce the number of electrons by repelling the electrons. Sometimes positrons might get pulled with them. After the extra neutrons are in there and repel some electrons, the orbitals are less strong and more positively charged and the positive charge of the nucleus is no longer canceled out, so the radioactive material will repel the Earth and 'float' - as would a human who drank nuclear water.
If water has hydrogen at 104 degree angle to each other - does nuclear water have two neutrons in one hydrogen, one in each hydrogen, two in both hydrogen or two in one and one in the other? If all 4 states are examples of radioactivity, what are the other 4 angles at which the hydrogen would be found? How do they form liquid, ice and liquid clouds suspended in gas and what are the properties of gaseous nuclear material, in all 4 cases? How many positrons and neutrons might remain on each of the 4 types of radioactivity, statistically speaking, based on the 4 charge conditions?
If we ran millions of tests or 'observations' of a hypothetical molecule, eventually things like radioactive water decaying into hydrogen when "one damaged, 'radioactive' hydrogen takes proton from the other damaged, 'radioactive' hydrogen, such that it has 1 (or 2) extra neutrons and 2 protons becoming radioactive helium and releasing positrons and maybe a neutron as part of decay" could be simulated, and the probability of each outcome understood more well. That is an outcome that is frequently observed but until now, hard to explain.
The molecules of a nuclear rod for instance, have less even distribution of electron/positron pairs in the orbitals (compared to stable material) - when molecules bump into or "observe" each other, each momentary throw-of-the-dice arrangement of the electrons/positions has a net inertia which is increasingly unpredictable, as the orbitals are increasingly uneven. This means each molecule is like a little rocket ship getting propelled randomly, but not overcoming the bonds between molecules, and that internal momentum is related to mechanical HEAT. Currently we use that heat to drive a fan for energy (the energy is absorbed into gas above the solid nuclear material and the gas rises through a fan/rotor) - it would be 100s of times hotter and trillions of times cheaper to burn trash in a kiln. (people will pay you to collect garbage, so the cost is less than zero, so trillions times less than zero is MUCH less than the current nuclear costs, it is and very safe).
Nuclear material is not only dangerous because it's like a tiny 3d machine gun propelling particles in a way that's dangerous for scarring and dna damage etc, but also NUCLEAR MATERIAL IS EXTREMELY MAGNETIC AND DEFORMS THE ELECTROMAGNETIC FIELD OF THE ENTIRE EARTH.
This creates a pothole in the electromagnetic field trajectory, and that fills up with atmosphere. The moon goes by and 'splashes' up the atmosphere causing extreme low pressure. People die from horrible pulmonary experience, and may show a wound around the abdomen as the abdomen is being pulled in all directions by low pressure and cannot breathe etc. Then, an avalanche of atmosphere crashes in from around that low pressure cone, causing the exact thing in a ring shape for 100s of km around the site. This could all be modeled pretty easily. After this, avalanching atmosphere causes a high pressure event and any survivors' shredded lungs and stomach are compressed until they throw up and their bowels are forced out and die. Then the air that caused the high pressure splashes up again, causing low and then high pressure. When it falls back, that high pressure causes a ring wave that chases shortly after the low pressure wave.
This has been the way many people have died, and the issue with people floating away from nuclear drinking water explains a lot in a few different countries and areas.
The momentum from the blast eventually adds energy into the clouds and atmosphere, so large clouds hold together extra-strong, and get pressed flat over the electromagnetic field. The energy is stored as ultraviolet photons between the nucleus and orbitals and if there's too much it spills out. Everyone is colorblind (sphenoid/cavernous sinus infection) so the ultraviolet light (aka black body radiation, like when steel turns red, which is not darker than black fyi that's your red cone not working right because cavernous sinus infection and/or sphenoid sinus is pressing on optic chiasm) - the ultraviolet light spilling out looks dark grey aka "iron curtain". That big flat cloud causes extreme high pressure in the middle, low on the sides and kills many many people as well.
So many people have died and it has not been well documented because of the way it impacts a portion of the population over a large distance, so funeral homes have a few extra people per week for a while and no one notices the pattern. If you look at birth/death around WWII for instance the pattern is clear, it impacts the economy significantly as well. The great depression in USA was from people dying here and people selling 10-20% less goods each day, and rise the price to try and catch up financially, until everything "crashed" ? It appears that whichever areas have been attacked least recently are doing the most well today, but all regions have at some point within the last 250 or so years felt the impact of this.
Alright so - that's all a bit heavy duty, my apologies! Redefining the periodic table, simulating electrodynamics etc will take time, but will be exciting! The positron and neutron must have canceled out in the math before, but it's so so much easier and intuitive like this. Always 4 particles and always the same or else it's radioactive. We could model the way in which helium comes from radioactive water for instance; one hydrogen with a damaged orbital is observed/bumped with only positron for instance, (others being shared in the molecule but also missing) which propels the proton over to the radioactive hydrogen aka tritium, and it is helium w/ 2 neutrons already and now 2 protons. In that case it's really nuclear helium with 3 neutrons and 2 positrons, but the positrons may attract enough electrons to bounce the last extra neutron out quickly? Also how about super-saturated nuclear water; instead of one hydrogen with 1 extra neutron (deuterium) or 2 extra neutrons (tritium/radioactive) it actually may have 2 extra neutrons in both hydrogens?!? Lots of research and simulation to do, but once we establish charge for all 4 and the falloff of that chargeâŚ. We can do a lot and it should be really fun!
One other note about the nuclear solid material - if there is a lack of electrons and/or positrons, and one wants to break a rod or object it in half - it may be that the other half would have NONE of the orbital particles and basically cannot break. In the case that it does, it is grabbing xray/ultraviolet photons from all the water (vapor and liquid) around to fill up its own orbitals. As a result people see an xray flash BUT - the nuclear material IS NOT INCREASING THE EXPLOSIVE POWER in fact it requires more. "Nuclear Bomb" is just a way of saying they don't know what to do with nuclear waste - it was just a trick to cover up their mistake. The mistake is that nuclear material simply doesn't add up. Burning trash and construction debris in a kiln would produce more rotational energy than nuclear energy, not to mention hydroelectricityâŚ
If the net positive charge of the Earth's core is balancing the charge of the bedrock, is nuclear material causing Earthquakes and Volcanoes and "Rising Sea Level" by causing an imbalance between positrons and neutrons (removed to make nuclear material)?! Is the the increasingly positive net charge (aka gravity) changing the distance of the bedrock from the center of the Earth?!? That would mean that SEA LEVEL IS NOT RISING, CONTINENTS ARE DROWNING IN MAGMA BECAUSE NUCLEAR PROLIFERATION IS INCREASING 'GRAVITY' AKA THE POSITIVE CHARGE OF THE EARTH?
We say that the center is solid iron HOWEVER, experimental forms of iron have been tested up to a certain measurable pressure; that limit is many many many times less than the hypothetical pressure at the center of the Earth. This means that we absolutely do not know what iron, or any material would do at that pressure⌠Maybe it is a very large number of protons and neutrons and the bottom of the magma layer is so hot it is a gas? (Earth's composition hypothetically being : Nucleus particles as a core, surrounded by gas surrounded by magma ocean with the continents sitting on it, liquid water on the continents and gas water as atmosphere with electromagnetic field aka orbital particles weaving through outer layers of atmosphere, (em field usually stabilizing the gas unless misshapen from radioactivity and/or radiated water clouds?))
Is radioactive material radiating atmospheric gas water such that the exposed molecules' orbitals become positively charged but the core is not negative as in nuclear water, because it has no neutrons? The repulsion of electrons by neutrons means increasingly positive net charge for physically adjacent materials (and people?!). So, that water has less "gravity" or even repells the Earth. Does that mean nuclear material is also ejecting water from the Earth permanently, possibly that the water molecules are put it into orbit while they slowly regains electrons from solar wind) and fall back? Could the net negative charge of the electromagnetic field hold the radiated aka 'unusually positive net charged' water in the sky, increasing air pressure? If the extra water is in the sky and not on Earth could the increase in air pressure be the cause of everyone having colorblindness-sinus-infection (sphenoid and cavernous sinus) as a child that gets infected and opacified? Could the increase in air pressure be the cause of dementia, when the ducts around the pineal gland get inflamed and eventually opacified such that melatonin comes out unexpectedly every 2-3 days causing dreamlike, sometimes dangerous/confused behavior mid-day? Could the damaged/radiated water being misplaced into the atmosphere be causing CLIMATE IMBALANCE - as too much water is stored in the sky and heat is stored in water? Antarctica, Greenland, Siberia, Canada, Norway, Sweden and Finland are freeze dried and Australia, North Africa, Gobi Desert, Mongolia, Turkmenistan, Argentina & Persian Gulf are dehydrated, meaning more than 50% of the known world is occupiable because of nuclear proliferation? Projections indicate the entire Earth will be unlivable because of this?! Can we stop ruining everything for no reason?!
Does nuclear water float on liquid-water but when it hits a glacier it freezes and is heavier than normal ice-water, falling to the bottom of the glacier making it deep blue color? Is that mass of frozen nuclear water radiating how many of liters of water into the atmosphere each day?! We could calculate this as well, at least approximately.
Is - a useless, weak energy source that kills billions and ruins the only planet with life in the known universe and costs so so much and thins out the atmosphere causing oxygen deficiencies for those nearby the material (as well as inverted waste from particle colliders) and increasing gravity in those areas with that material - "worth it"? Regrettably it is hard to be confident about some of these issues until we confirm the positron and negatively charged neutron, but you may notice here - figuring this out soon and publishing it could be a very important thing to do for humanity and the solar system and the galaxy! (If space radiates because of temporal dynamics and energy from unselected timelines - does the large "bubble" around our galaxy come from life on Earth specifically radiating space as the Galaxy dances us around Laniakea and Perseus Pisces? If we ruin our entire lives with useless proliferation will the Galaxy stop interacting with the expansion of the Universe at a cosmic scale? Is our Galaxy navigating from Perseus Pisces to Laniakea and avoiding interaction with Andromeda with this expansion behavior?! Of course it is hard to be sure about that one, but interesting to think about! How about is the polar arrangement of satellite galaxies, because the expansion is happening less at the poles, specifically much less within the perimeter where the electromagnetic field crosses the surface of the Earth - do we have a name for that boundary?!)
The issue is that they never finished the equation for nuclear material. If it takes 1000s of years of containment to wait for the material to go through cycles of half lives until it is safe, and we do not have any structure/materials that lasts that long; nuclear material WILL destroy the entire atmosphere eventually and all oxygen based life (the only such life discovered in the entire Universe so far?!) and quite *possibly* even disrupt some level of functionality at a cosmic scale? Is it worth the risk and deaths and cost? There may be ways to expose for instance radioactive 'tritiated' water to copper-64 (radioactive by product of lithium refinement which lacks neutrons, exhibiting different radioactive characteristics than tritiated water which repels electrons and possibly photons aka energy storage; that type of copper would collect photons and electrons but might grab neutrons from nuclear water (into which radioactive metals had been diffused) although it would want to be tested in very small quantities at first. Also⌠what is the story with the chemical structure model for the copper-64 molecules⌠a little suspicious⌠anyway they could never really do the math on it without the positron or realization that molecules with extra orbital layers show more negative net charge if tested from outside those orbitals but⌠I don't know, hopefully someday we can just get the math right finally. If someone used radioactive copper-64 for building or cladding, would it all fall apart if nuclear material or water was within probably a few 100 yards? Imagine all the metal structures of a building disappearing simultaneously !?! We need to figure some of this out soon!!!)
If enough uncontained radioactive material deformed the atmosphere for a week or two (moon passes overhead, displacing a calculable amount of atmosphere that would otherwise be held in place, 10-15 times at that point) we'd have such a disruption that that would be the end of all life on Earth (if the magnetic vector was strong enough to displace the right amount of air resulting in; oxygen imbalance and air pressure imbalance and probably the iron curtain flat, pressure cloud holding together unusually strong for gas-water, because of surplus energy spilling into the air above and friction as the charged material moves along the electromagnetic field itself, which increases in the wind not decreases). If material was launched and distributed over a large area it would be impossible to clean up, and if it was magnetic enough, again, - it would launch atmosphere high above the areas it should be, reducing oxygen and causing asphyxiation, as well as reducing electromagnetic protection, it would kill people with pressure waves, it would kill people with an 'iron curtain' cloud appearing anywhere and everywhere with pressure anomalies until something stops it, (and at that height above the surface it won't be buildings or trees etc) this would impact temperature and food production. Additionally, radiated water would get stuck above the electromagnetic field as discussed earlier. The South American Magnetic Anomaly may have caused El Nino, Lake Effect, air movement over Greenland blowing away clouds of water which have absorbed heat and moving them to North Africa and Saudi peninsula. If that's a nuclear-related issue, has it also set off a volcano covering most of Argentina in ash? Scary stuff.
As far as the idea that we can 'cancel out' types of surplus nuclear material - Copper-64, for instance, a byproduct of lithium refining, might cancel out with nuclear water, leaving behind nickel, zinc, oxygen and maybe helium with a neutron or normal water which shakes the 2 extra neutrons loose and gives it to the copper w/o decaying. One material has too many neutrons and the other has not-enough. Even if we collect everything we can and cancel it out, there will be some left that WILL destroy the atmosphere over the course of any couple of weeks of being un-contained. That means that there is currently a 100% chance that the existing material will kill all oxygen based life in the observable universe unless we live for 1000 years and keep patching up the equipment every few decades. There is NO REASON to make this problem worse!
Alright, that is a few ideas to think about! If there were people looking to highlight paragraphs/hypotheses, or print the email large and cut up individual sentences to divy up areas of research for thesis students etc, that would be awesome! Whatever works, but I realize it is a lot and it takes a lot of people to focus on each step in the math to paint the whole picture!

Haikyu Fic!
Hey all! So, Iâve mentioned a couple times that Iâm working on some Haikyu fics, and I finally finished one!
This one is about what I think the dynamic between Yaku and Kenma could be like, if explored further.
CW: Kenmaâs got anxiety, which is causing him a not so healthy relationship with food. Also this is my first time writing both Kenma and Yaku, so things might be a bit clunky or a tad OOC.
Additional Notes: Based on my head cannon that Kuroo is Kenmaâs âSafe Personâ and usually they eat lunch together, which helps avoid a lot of the anxiety. Except, today, Kuroo is out sick.
AO3 Link
ââââââââââââââââââââââ
It was so loud. Chairs screeched, chopsticks clacked, and it almost seemed as if his classmates were determined to shout every word they spoke.
Kenma flinched as a group two desks ahead of him burst into obnoxious laughter, full of snorts and cackles. His stomach growled pitifully. He ignored it, trying to bring his attention back to the game in his hands. Everything was too much. He couldnât eat now.
As he tucked his chin towards his chest, letting more of his hair fall into his face, he cursed Kuroo.
Why did you have to wait until after I was ready for school to tell me you werenât coming today? Jerk. You knew it would be too late for me to pretend I still hadnât recovered yet either.
The tightness in his chest only worsened when his console beeped, and his eyes focused in enough for him to make out the blinking battery symbol. He only had a pathetic 5% power left because heâd forgotten to plug it in last night.
His vision blurred again, and he closed his eyes and forced himself to take a breath. His hands clenched around the console. Stupid Kuroo.
The noise.Â
It was.
So.
Loud.
Another burst of giggles, though there had obviously been an attempt made to stifle them.
I probably look like a weirdo, sitting by myself at lunch.
His chest seemed tighter still, and he squeezed his eyes against the outside world.
I wish I could reset back to the last save point and not come to school today.
A small sound, softer than the clamor around him, barely detectable. Someone had set something on his desk.
His eyes flew open just as he heard the sound of a chair being set down across the desk from him. Slowly, he lifted his head.
Yaku sat across from him, opening a bento.
Kenma blinked. Then, for good measure, he blinked again. Yaku was still there, sitting across the desk from him, chopsticks in hand, open bento on the desk.
Yaku seemed to finally notice Kenma watching him and looked up to meet his gaze. âKuroo isnât here today,â he said as if that explained things.
Kenma nodded slowly. âHeâs still sick.â
Yaku made a face and turned his attention back to his lunch. âJerk, getting sick during senior year. Who does he think he is?â
âYeah.â Kenmaâs voice was quiet. He glanced back down at the game console in his hands. The screen had gone black, and when he pushed the power button it did nothing. He frowned down at it and shoved it into his bag.
âDid you bring lunch?â
His head snapped back up to meet Yakuâs gaze.Â
The senior had cocked his head, eyebrows drawn together and a small frown on his face. âI assumed you did, but if you didnât you can have some of mine.â
âNo, I brought lunch.â
âYou should eat then. We can only spoil you so much in practice, you know.â Yaku offered a small smile.
Kenma hesitated, then pulled his lunch out of his bag. How did he explain that the noise was too much and he couldnât eat?
âSo, did you beat your game while you were sick?â
He shook his head as he popped the top off his bento. âI tried, but I slept a lot.â
âThatâs probably for the best. How much further do you have left?â
He wrinkled his nose as he looked down at the food before him, adjusted his grip on his chopsticks, and decided to look back at Yaku instead. âIâm getting close. Iâll probably beat it tomorrow night.â
âOh, wow. What are you going to do then? Will you start a new one?â
Another hesitation. He picked absently at his food. âProbably not yet. This one is supposed to have a few post-game quests to do.â
Yaku grinned. âYouâll probably finish those the day after, right?â
âYeah. If not then, itâll be over the weekend.â
Yaku opened his mouth to speak, but it seemed nothing could go right for Kenma today, as his stomach chose that exact moment to growl its loudest yet.
Kenma froze, then shrunk in on himself, gaze falling to his lap. His face burned.
Everybody heard that, didnât they?
The tightness that had gradually started to loosen returned with a vengeance. His vision blurred over again.
Everybody heard that. Theyâre all going to be looking and laughing.
Why was it getting so hard to breathe all of a sudden?
I want to reset.
âKenma.â A foot kicked gently against his shin. Not hard enough to hurt, just enough to be felt.
He startled, head snapping back up.
Yaku was looking straight at him, brown eyes narrowed in concern, eyebrows drawn together.Â
A pause. Kenma tried to ignore a burst of giggles from a group of his classmates.
âNobody heard that,â Yaku said as the giggles died down, his voice quiet. âI barely could, and Iâm right across the desk from you. Youâre okay.â
Kenmaâs face still burned, and he glanced back down at his lap, though he was careful to keep Yaku just within view.
âIâm not going to laugh at you,â Yaku said.
âI know,â Kenma heard himself reply, and a part of him twinged with guilt at how he wasnât sure he believed the words.
Another pause. Then a hand nudged Kenmaâs bento closer.
âYou should eat.â
Wordlessly, Kenma shook his head.
Yakuâs frown deepened. He looked from Kenma, to the bento, and then to the classroom. After a long moment, he leaned back in his chair. âYâknow, Kai mentioned that he was planning to check in on Lev, Inouka, and Shibayama. I think he said theyâd be out by the volleyball gym if we wanted to join them.â His voice was louder than Kenma wouldâve liked, and his expression had returned to the same nonchalance from earlier.
Eating lunch with Lev was the second to last thing Kenma wanted. But it would at least be better than the classroom, so he nodded slowly.
And just like that, Yaku had packed up his bento and put it back in his bag, then got to his feet and put his borrowed chair back where it belonged.
Kenma slowly put the top back on his bento and shoved it into his bag, shifted the bag to his shoulder, and stood. When he turned back to Yaku, he found he couldnât read anything in the seniorâs expression.
The hallways were every bit as loud as the classroom. Kenmaâs grip on his bag tightened and his gaze found the floor, hair falling into his face. He waited for Yaku to step in front and lead the way, but instead an elbow lightly bumped against his. When he lifted his eyes just enough to see Yaku, the senior nodded his head in the direction of the volleyball gym.Â
âWhenever youâre ready,â Yaku said. It shouldâve been impatient, sarcasm for the sake of drawing attention to how much trouble Kenma was. Instead, he said it so quietly that it couldnât have been for anyone but Kenmaâs benefit.
When Kenma started to walk a moment later, Yaku kept pace with him. His voice returned to its normal volume as he initiatedâ and then carriedâ a ânormalâ conversation. And if it bothered him that Kenma only gave monosyllabic replies, he didnât show it, taking each noncommittal sound or a shrug of the shoulders and continuing the conversation without a second glance.
As they drew closer to the gym, Kenma started tuning Yaku out in favor of bracing himself to be met with Inouka and Levâs stupid-high-energy levels and incessant cheerfulness, combined with Yakuâs shouts of aggravation.Â
At least Kai and Shibayama would be quiet.
Except, when they made their way out the doors and got to the steps of the gym, Inouka, Lev, Shibayama, and Kai were nowhere to be found.
Kenma paused. The team wasnât allowed to eat in the gym, so unless theyâd already finished their lunch and gone insideâŚ
Yaku passed him, sat down on the steps, and fetched his bento out of his bag. He looked up at Kenma and offered a smile.
âThe quiet is nice, isnât it?â He patted the spot next to him. âHave a seat. Itâll be harder to eat if youâre standing.â
Slowly, Kenma made his way over and sat down next to Yaku.
âI figured youâd probably like having an excuse to leave the classroom,â Yaku said. âNobody has to know Kai and the others werenât actually here.â With that, he turned his attention back to his lunch.
The barest beginnings of a smile tugged at the corners of Kenmaâs mouth.
Quiet.
It was quiet. Nobody laughing and no chairs scraping the floor. No classmates to judge him.
His stomach growled again and he frowned, doing his best to ignore how embarrassment tried to creep back in.
Without so much as a glance in Kenmaâs direction, Yaku dropped a hand from his bento and fished through Kenmaâs bag, retrieved Kenmaâs bento, and held it out.
After a moment to consider, Kenma took it. When he popped the lid, the sight of the food still made his nose wrinkle. But his stomach growled yet again, and he forced himself to pick up his chopsticks and shove a small bite into his mouth. Just so it stops.
Swallowing was a struggle. The bite seemed to stick in his throat, and after forcing it down, he wanted to do anything but take another one. Another moment spent staring at the food, and he made himself take another bite. Just enough so that it stops.
Again, it seemed to stick in his throat. Again, he forced it down anyway. Again, he eyed the food until heâd worked up the energy to take yet another bite.
Yaku started talking again, except this time he didnât ask any questions. He spoke about how classes were going for his senior year. He talked about what his siblings were up toâ Daisuke, now fourteen, was playing catcher and in his final year of junior high. Susumu, at twelve, was in his first year of junior high and made a habit of getting top marksâ and how proud he was of both of them. He made another offhand jab at Kuroo for getting sick, paired with an eyeroll, and then a remark about how the first years were doing better, but he didnât think theyâd really figured out the whole âteamâ thing yet.
All the while, the tightness in Kenmaâs chest loosened and the churning in his stomach started to subside. When he looked back down at the food again after offering a brief comment on another of Yakuâs stories, he found it more appetizing than before. The hunger pains and the growling didnât seem quite so annoying, and when he put another bite of food in his mouth, it went down easier than before.
That⌠actually didnât taste too bad.
He took another bite, and another, and another. Yaku kept talking. And when Kenma set his chopsticks down for good, it was with half of his food gone.
A hand gave a him a single, solid pat on the back, though Yaku didnât break from his current anecdote about Susumuâs obsession with character bentos (which explained why Kenma had thought heâd seen a face in Yakuâs lunch earlier).
They started packing up, and when they got to their feet, they fell in step again as they made their way back to the classroom.
âSo, after you beat your game, what are you going to do?â
Kenma shrugged. âFind a new one.â
âGot your eye on any in particular?â
âThereâs a new dungeon-crawler RPG coming out late next week.â
âThat sounds right up your alley,â Yaku said with a smile. âWhich one are you going to replay until then?â
The walk back to class felt significantly shorter than the walk to the gym had been. When they arrived, they paused outside the door.
âWell, I have to get back to class. Thanks for eating lunch with me, Kenma. For the record, youâre way better company than Kuroo.â Yaku grinned up at him. âIâll see you at practice.â
âThank you.â Kenmaâs voice was quiet, so quiet it wouldâve been easy to miss as Yaku turned away. Except, the senior turned back, and the grin morphed into a smile.
âAnytime.â Yaku reached up and ruffled Kenmaâs hair, then turned to go and raised a hand in farewell. âSee you later!â
Kenma watched him go, then turned and entered his own classroom and made his way over to his desk. The bell rang a few minutes later.
That had been⌠okay. Nice, even, there at the end. Maybe practice that evening would be alright.
Still, heâd hit Kuroo with the unskippable dialogue later.
