Well that was quite the welcome, obviously the girl wasn't happy to see her. Grinning smugly inside, Quitty moved to pin her long dark hair into a bun as she made her way for the bar along the wall, lifting a leg out to stretch, speaking as she leaned over. Ballet had been her everything since the time she could walk, and most of the movements were second nature. "Whatever, it was off anyway." Shrugging the tiny brunette looked over at the other girl. "Happens to the best of us." Her tone was casual. "New York, huh? I'm from New York. Upper East Side, not that I'm sure it matters."
Turning back to the face the girl, large grey eyes wandering over her, Quitty tilted her head. "I've been trying to mix it up lately, blend techniques you know? For my audition with The EBC, I used a classical piece mashed up with Wild Ones on an electric violin. It was great. I got the part because they said they were looking for something fresh. Do you know how hard it is to blend belly dancing with ballet. You wouldn't think so, but the movements are hard to transition without using a bit of contemporary." Stepping into the middle of the floor she stepped up onto pointe, spinning backwards into an effortless and casual pirouette, her eyes locked on the other girl's reflection. "Have you danced anywhere other than New York? And who..." Turning to face the girl, a curious look on her face. "Is Devon? Is he cute? I bet he's cute."
The easiest way to get to someone was to lull them into a false sense of security, find their weaknesses and then exploit them at the perfect moment. That was why she was being so nice, interested, casual. Make her think they're friends and then tear her down. It'd be fun, and it'd been far too long since Quitty Lancaster had had a little fun.

Well I would hope so, I do breathe life into this place.

Just got the reviews from the tour in the mail
Nothing’s new. Life is incredibly boring when you’re not around.

I was on the introductory tour for the EBC. It was like my trial run with the company. I guess I passed.

Well, our director is a little behind on the times, so yes, I got them in the mail. I'm glad you're not surprised over me being a hit.
Just got the reviews from the tour in the mail
The most surprising thing about this is that you got the reviews in the mail. Unless you meant e-mail, in which case nothing about this is surprising.

Congratulations babe. I knew you could do it! x

One of the toughest critics out there said that he looked forward to seeing more of me on the stage, and that my skill at my age was impressive. I'm absolutely ecstatic and I NEED to celebrate!

She'd been on her way to dance, which was how she spent most of her free time. Her life was friends, and dance. Practice was her favorite pass time and it wasn't unusual for her friends to have to tell her to stop before she ran herself into the ground. She hadn't landed her position with the European Ballet Company by sitting around and doing nothing. Quitty had been working herself to the bone her entire life to enhance the natural talent and passion that she'd already had. The moment that she opened the door, she'd spotted the girl that was dancing, though it took a moment for her realize who it was. One of the new girls.
She was good, passionate, and talented, and all it did was raised Quitty's brow. The ending, though, was obviously a struggle for her, and she could see the concentration on the girl's face as well as how hard she was breathing when she finished. It was hard dance and she'd done it well, the brunette ballerina was slightly impressed. It would be fun to have a little competition, though she really didn't think she had much to fear from her. Bringing her hands up to do a slow almost sarcastic clap as the girl spotted her, she finally stepped forward and let the door close behind her.
"Not bad." Crossing her arms over her chest, she was dressed in a pair of cropped yoga pants, a large blue sweater over the matching black halter. Striding over to the chair all confidence and swagger, she dropped her bag beside it and pulled out her pointe shoes, sliding off her flats so she could lace them up her legs. "The ending was a little shaky though, were you running out of breath?" Her tone was neutral. She hadn't decided how to approach this entire situation, if she should just crush the girl outright, or keep her enemy close and make her think they were friends. That was always fun. "Otherwise it was practically perfect. Do you choreograph as well?" Standing when she was done, she stood and stretched, lifting her eyes to the other girl's face once more. "I do."
Odile's Coda || Quitty & Athena
Athena stood in the empty dance room, staring at her reflection in the mirrors. It was only her first day and she had already started retreating into her familiar habits. She had retreated to the dance room to keep herself calm. Tucking the bow of her laces underneath itself, Athena stood up and rolled through her feet and onto her pointe. She stretched in silence before turning the sound up on her Ipod and placing it on the floor in front of her. Pressing play, she quickly brought herself to the center of the room. As the music started, she focused her mind into the dance. The familiar tune of Odile’s Coda from Tchaikovsky’s Swan Lake filtered out from the small speakers, and Athena began her transformation into the sensual Black Swan. Losing herself in the movement of the piece, she let herself go. All of her thoughts and worries left her mind. Her body moved through the choreography with little effort. The piece had been one of her favorites for years, and the entire thing was so familiar that it was almost second nature.
Oblivious to the world around her, Athena prepared herself for the end of the dance. The dance ends with thirty two consecutive fouettés. Her mind narrowed to a single thought: finish the dance. Her leg whipped around for the last time, sending her spinning into a triple pirouette before landing, the box of her pointe shoe hitting the ground with a resounding smack. Out of breath, she looked up into the mirror to see a figure at the doorway, lit from behind with the light of the hallway. She turned around, struggling to see who it was.

That's very true. I just think you should steer clear of heels. Your ankles will thank you.

I refuse to ever run in this school again.
I don’t think that will work…they didn’t help Evie.

I think someone might need a few lessons in ballet. Maybe it'll help quell some of that clumsiness.
I refuse to ever run in this school again.
No, I fell over my own feet unfortunately.

So, what? Did you trip over a newbie? They're like ants, they're everywhere.
I refuse to ever run in this school again.
I know. I’m glad that my clumsiness is entertaining to everyone. Luckily, I didn’t break anything.
