I finally managed to beat Massive Chalice for the for the first time after getting it nearly 10 years ago. Holy shit is this a good game, I think I even like it more than x-com. There's loads of replay value, but damn I just wish there was a big budget sequel or at the very least mod support.

I feel like if tumblr knew about this game they'd be feral about it. It's x-com with arranged marriages.

Sometimes I listen to the battleborn soundtrack and cry.

I know it was a mediocre game and overwatch was better bla bla bla. Whatever.

It was goofy and earnest and messy, unlike overwatch that was polished to a mirror finish. But even if the game had sucked it still would have mattered to me. It had *splitscreen*, God so few games have that anymore. I'd come home from some of the most awful bullying I'd ever experienced at school and then drop on the couch and play some battleborn with my brother.

Fuck everyone who never gave battleborn a chance. Look where your overwatch is now.

I see lots of "let people enjoy things" in fandom but no "it's not the end of the world if people don't like this thing you like, chill out" which is a shame I think fandom could benefit a lot more from the latter than the former
