The Wrong Man
Itâs the strange tousled hair that got my attention
He didnât seem to care about his appearance,
His posture was all wrong
Not the kinda guy to set my heart into motion
But he didâŚ
His eyes pierced my soul
His smile tortured my brain
And his voice became my reason to keep breathing
His lips I wanted pressing against mine
And his arms the kind I wanted to fall into
Surely a man so imperfect couldnât be so perfect to me
His eyebrows were the thick and bushy kind
Acne and scars of war covered his face
His wrinkled shirt and old torn jeans seemed to be a suitable outfit
His dirty sneakers and untied laces were just perfect
But as soon as he said the first word to me
None of it mattered
Consumed by his world all too foreign to mine
His full of so much colour it made my perfect life seem so dull
He was the kinda guy I was told to stay away from
But ohh his thick bulging muscles and unrealistic hair
Grabbed me right by the throat and dared me to dare

MAD HOUSE
Sleepless in Harare Asking âwho are we?â A people ruled by persons âYou want to speak out?, too bad sonâ No more guns and bullets Just verbal Russian roulette
She satisfies others, throwing away what she has For something she really needs To someone she doesnât want Who doesnât care about what she is Using one of the two things we all have To satisfy a continuous need
Mom runs the house Dad runs a swamp My sister dates her books My brother is booking dates I see everyone, But does anyone see me?
I see singers and actors I copy this, I copy that Till I lose my own style They say Iâm cool and push me on Browsing to catch tomorrowâs trend Until ZESA makes me see the true stars

YEARNING
Itâs been so long Since Iâve held a wanting hand Shared the same rhythm With another beating heart Intertwined in heated passion While embracing another soul
I shanât explore loveâs domain Rather let fate take its course Peek not through destinyâs door Chance shall report to me Gaze into the eyes of blind justice And see my conscienceâs reflection
Soon I shall gladly taste A precious sweet voice Later on tenderly stroke A gentle loving soul Dance the night away To the beat of her heart Fingers paddling smoothly Through flawless flowing hair
My incessant rantings, A mere foolish monologue Yet utter silence in your presence A worthwhile conversation

YOU NEVER KNOW
There lived a man on Crocker  Hill Whose sight was not profound He missed a step and had a  spill And released a dreadful sound His blood went cold, his mouth agape His bones were never found
Grace trodded to the snowy mill To find her teddy bear blue There was one board that wouldnât be still And it simply tore right through She haunts the mill, letting out a shrill Still looking for teddy bear blue
David had finally had his fill Just like Dickenâs miser Danger was stuck to his love for thrills But he was none the wiser One swerve here and another there The brick wall was the true decider
If you speed through life without a care Let alone an hour to spare Youâll think about it in great dismay Before your eyes it will flash away For death is not a mere man you pay So beware the dreadful day For David, Grace and the man on Crocker Hill Already led the way

Whats sucks
Wanting you and knowing i can never have you
i try so hard to get your attention and it never seems to work
and when i think maybe something is going to happen...
nothing but cold deafening silence
you know what really sucks ... you will never read this poem
i will never tell you how i really feel
and you will never know my feelings for you are real
you know what sucks?
this poem doesnât  ryme and for the first time in my life i donât care...
cause what really sucks...Â
is feeling something for someone who doesnât even know your feelings are there

Those deep blue eyes that tear my emotion Those deep blue feelings that rise Those deep blue tears that roll down my cheeks Those deep blue waves that roll by Those deep blue colors that remind me of you That deep blue yearning to my surprise

LONG DISTANCE
If tears run down my cheek
My voice refuses to speak
Darkness strangles the night
And my worst fears no longer hide
Who will comfort me when Iâm so far?
Were your love canât reach me with a single plane or car
Will you always be mine?
Body, soul, spirit, mind
Can we stand the test of time?
Without each other close by?
Iâll miss your face and your beautiful eyes and smile
Watching you do things and fail
No matter how hard you try
The days spent in laughter
And the sweet kisses goodbye
Will you still call me yours?
And be faithful to us?
Is it possible to keep that fire burning?
Our hearts still yearning for each otherâs touch
Because only you have the flame that drives me wild
The fire that makes me act like a child
You have the extinguisher to make those flames subside
The magnifier to spot when my feelings hide
Can I still be honest and true?
To the years of effort that is me and you
If this distance, space and time does arrive
Promise me one thing my love
That we will still be together forever with the help from above

ENDLESS LOVE
 If the story ends
Let it be with a girl and boy
Who later become man and wife
Let it be a story worth repeating
When hair is grey and receding
Once firm a bosom sagging
If the end comes
Let my looks mean nothing
Let my pulse still race every time you touch me
May my best memories be from time with you
Even when Iâm blind and cannot see
From nothing to something to everything
Thatâs what it should be
A love that makes you stay put, no running
A love that makes you want to cry
All or nothingâŚ.right?

The man in the mirror
 Something seen not heard
Moves, breathes, torments, can be sad
The very being of who I am
Trying to find a deeper meaning of who I am and become
 Confusion, hatred, self-absorbed
Dark, skinny, light, strike a pose
A reflection of what Iâve become and going to be
Looking at the mirror through eyes but cannot see
 Merciless, ruthless, evil, overbearing
Not one that judges you or of any hearing
Carrying the weight of the world on your shoulders
Timeless, harmless, the world belongs to us
Move when I move, dance to the rhythm that beats through my pulse
Who else but me with no sound
Tall, short, bold, behold the image never been so clear
Listen, be brave be the man behind the mirror

While destiny tarries to unite us I can only dream of what I long to show you. That neither time nor earth nor imagination has known a bond so neatly woven by heaven's approving embrace. While rules n formalities bid us wait I yearn approaching the day our hearts fulfil their fate. I've felt before I've longed before but no past account approaches our union's shore While youth of mortals doth separate us While maturity by time's sentence does distance us I cross the paths none would cross I long to spare no effort all may have Tis here my lady that I confess That by thee I long to be blessed Tis here that time must stop and bade the audiences of history to proclaim and witness Uncharted heights of love unbound Tis here my lady cultures join n differences disobey For love to conquer thought n blemish brought by distrust Tis here my lady were I adorn A fitly hand with symbolic gold On a restless night Tis here I wrote None to tell bt my heart softly spoke By the witness of a single star I spoke What my heart has longed to confess Endless thoughts here cloud inspirations plea What my lady should hear this moment The thought of love once quickly dismissed Now upon my every breath lives with me Once to whom it may concern Now to you and to you alone This message I convey Sleep night my lady I whisper your name when inspiration ends But the end I do not know Father above grant me peace To proclaim before my lady these words I feel.
