While experimenting with Paper recently, I discovered that you can draw with colored pencil on top of a dark background. Please see my earlier post for some tips on using this technique.

The effect instantly reminded me of my childhood. I used to spend hours drawing underwater scenes on black construction paper with pastels and loved the almost fluorescent effect the technique produced. So I decided to create a simple drawing using this method with Paper to see if I could replicate the effect.

This exercise was fun and nostalgic for me and I'd love to hear about how you use Paper to create digital drawings inspired by analog methods used in your childhood. Please tag your drawings with #qwertyphd to share and I will reblog them here.

I was experimenting with Paper the other day and discovered that you can draw against a dark background with the colored pencil tool. The effect is similar to chalk or pastel and the colors have an almost fluorescent glow.

I'm still working on the drawing I started but thought I'd quickly share these tips to see what people can create with them.
