We are not doing great. Not at all. Knowing that your country started an unprovoked military conflict with our neibours is a generally not a great feeling. But with new sanctions on Russia every day I am scared for my future. Twitter and fb are blocked by roscomnadzor. As a responce for blocking russian news companies, they say. To limit our access to news, I hear. But alot of services suspended service in Russia. Services that in no way influence Putin and those who orchestrated that war (e. g. Grammarly). A lot of people are left unemployed after foreign companies broke cooperation with russian firms. Stopped shipping of materials mean that factories stopped working. I work in IT and our company struggles to find clients from other contries, even though it was doing just fine 2 weeks ago. We still have contracts in Russia but for how long? Our CEO visited our office today. Hard times await us, he said. He half jokingly half seriously suggested that we should find a pot of land and grow potatoes, 'just in case'. If you dont know, in the early 90's after collapse of the uss Russia was in crisis, people had no money. As in even those who had a job were not payed. And government gave free land for whoever wanted it. People took it and grew food there (mainly potatoes). Every russian knows what огород is. Most people abandoned them in the 00' after situation in the country improved. (We didn't. I hated it as a teen. Now I am immensely grateful that I have it as a means to not starve). All this were before be learned that Microsoft and Cisco left. The hottest news is that Cogent (Internet service provider) is cutting Russia from the Internet. Rigth now our system administrators are looking into how to secure our work. I heard opinion from people who introduse this limitations that it is a nesessary measure to force russian people to act against putin. This feels like a blackmail. Like they do not care how many people will die as a result of their actions. Apparently there was some sort of survey that showed that a majority of russians are in favour of this war. That seems baffling. I would not say for all Russia (as Russia is the biggest country in the world), but on all platforms that I visit the majority of people are against it. Of cource there always will be a vocal minority who feel the support of the government and say whatever they want as loud as they can. But the majority of people are scared. So this is how we are. Scared, demoralised and isolated from the whole word. Still processing what is happening. I apologise for this ramble (and for my poor english), I wasnt going to write such a big responce, but I wanted for at least someone to know how it is like to be a normal russian citizen now as I feel like a lot of people think that we are some bloodthirsty immoral beasts whose lives are in no way affected by what is going on.

I LEARNED RECENTLY THAT PLATO WON THE GOLD MEDAL IN THE OLYMPICS FOR WRESTLING THREE TIMES. THIS PUTS A NEW PERSPECTIVE ON THINGS. I ALWAYS IMAGINED PLATO TO BE FRAIL AND MISSHAPEN BUT HE MUST HAVE BEEN FRICKEN RIPPED. I WONDER IF ARISTOTLE EVER FELT ANXIETY ABOUT GETTING PHYSICALLY (I.E. NOT JUST METAPHYSICALLY) DISMANTLED BY PLATO. PLATO WAS PROBABLY PISSED OFF BY AT LEAST A HANDFUL OF QUESTIONS ARISTOTLE ASKED HIM. ARISTOTLE WAS A LITERAL GENIUS TOO.
