She discovered a way to modify mRNA and package it in lipid nanoparticles, a method that will revolutionize the creation of vaccines and the field of biochemistry as a whole.

Marsha Linehan

In the 1970s, Linehan used her own experience with mental illness to develop dialectical behavioral therapy (DBT). DBT is the most evidence based treatment for borderline personality disorder. Previously, people with BPD were seen as difficult or impossible to treat. In addition, BPD is a disorder that overwhelmingly affects women (75% of cases are in women). Marsha Linehan has had a huge role in changing and improving the lives of many people, not just those with borderline personality disorder.
