How do you feel about Vax and Cass as a ship? What do you think their dynamic would be? Personally, I really like the ship bc of the connection to the matron

Maybe specifically Champion Vax and Cassandra

Yes!!! yes I love them. I love the idea of Vax being extremely partial to Cassandra. In a lot of my aus they're like. very snide/playful with each other.

As far as Champion Vax goes tho...I love the idea that he's absolutely enthralled with the fact that not only is she interested in learning about the Matron -- and worshipping her -- but that she's also falling for Keyleth. For me it's always the "oh she has a thread to keyleth" and then realizing she has a thread to him too. that it's not just a "oh she's here to be with Keyleth now" but that their threads of fate are forever entangled.

I also headcanon a lot that Cass develops a mentor style relationship with Lieve'tel (you could hear me screaming my joy at Liam's reprising her), kinda furthering Vax's attention on her.

I’m so so curious, I can’t find much about the Cassandra and Keyleth ship and I want to know about it! How do you think it came about, what are your head canons and stuff. Your art makes me need to know more.

yes so. here's kinda how it went down. i was plotting some au w/ a friend of mine for imodna and i was like. hey for background would it be weird to put cassandra and keyleth together as a couple? and she was like. no that's cool. and then they took over our lives LMAO

as far as canon adjacent or canon compliant headcanons, it goes something like this: Cassandra is in rough shape at the end of Campagin 1 (iykyk). I imagine the heavy heavy trauma on top of her peace being rebroken by her abusers leads her to mostly just...suffering at Whitestone.

So Percy and Vex...also seeing the way Keyleth is absorbing herself into her duties...suggests that maybe Cassandra could take a convalescence in Zephrah.

Second part of this headcanon is that...as one final cruelty left by the Briarwoods, Cass was transformed into a vampire or a dhampire. Another part is like...because of how many times she's brushed death as well as coming to terms with needing blood, she turns to the Matron of Ravens as part of her healing journey. Maybe picks up some worship along the way.

I imagine that Zephrah is...good for Cass. It's very different than Whitestone and seemingly unconnected. And she finds herself able to help shoulder some of the responsibilities that Keyleth faces as the Voice.

And that shouldering leads to intimacy. Closeness. Deep friendship.

Keyleth is canon demi-sexual so I imagine this is a quiet slow burn thing that lasts years. When it finally comes to a head there's a lot of Keyleth feeling like she's betraying Vax, but Cass has, perhaps, always felt partial to being part of a polycule rather than a couple? and so. while Vax is on the other side of the veil they hold their 2/3rds of a polycule on this side.

obviously my love for this recognizes and supports the endless canon devotion that is Vaxleth. I also like the idea of Vax sending little things that show he approves of Cassandra. Little snow drops on her window sill. I just think every single one of them has 2 arms and deserves 2 partners actually. I think they've all been thru so much and I think about all three of them holding each other a lot

my headcanon is she was turned during the last act of Campaign 1, when stolen from Whitestone as part of the final collateral, a way to try to take more from her. to me it just makes. so much sense. also for my otp/3 just making it so she lives a very very long time with Keyleth.

the other, much more sapphic part for me feeds into my other headcanon that part of being a druid (probably part of being a moon druid especially) is the embrace of the more primal, which includes marking mates like with a neck bite. and so while cassandra is having a nervous breakdown thinking about how feeding will make her into a monster, keyleth is quietly playing with her hair and thinking about how much being bitten on the neck will feel good and make her feel less lonely
