Just a little thing I only saw now on my fourth playthrough of chapter 4

You know that scene shortly before you see Gerson for the first time? When you’re in the dark maze thing and a mysterious thing chases you and Ralsei tells you to run left? Well, I stayed in place this time to see if it actually had a shape, and it did.

IT’S THE TITANSPAWN THING

And I’m still wondering about the lore implications of a single titanspawn creature being there two sanctuaries before the knight summons the titan.

Another difference between the call in Carol’s house and the end of the weird route that I forgot to mention in the original post is also something that’s very, very importantly used in Undertale and Deltarune: speech blips. You can’t tell me the noise that comes from the phone in Carol’s house sounds like her speech blips, right? So, did she use a voice changer? Why would she?? That’s my first point. And saying that she changed the way she sounds to… sound less threatening? Doesn’t make sense for two reason. One, the caller in Carol’s house didn’t threaten Kris in the first place so why would it be perceived as that, and second (I’m assuming she DIDN’T use a voice changer because she had no reason to) it’s like saying Susie can start speaking in Comic Sans whenever she wants. You can’t change your voice like that, especially that drastically. And if I’m already talking, let’s talk about the text box itself (using the same picture because I’m lazy).

Just wanted to refresh you on what it looks like. Now let’s go over to a different section of things: comics.

Random comic page I found featuring a demon-like character. Black speech bubble. It shows exactly what they are and their whole vibe. If they went to someone and suddenly started speaking with a standard white speech bubble, wouldn’t it look odd?

Because *(AND CHAPTER 4 WEIRD ROUTE SPOILERS FROM HERE)*, if you complete a weird route in chapter 4, you get a different phone call. One from Carol. AND GUESS WHAT IT LOOKS LIKE!

NOT! EVEN! CLOSE! And that’s it for me. Long story short: mystery phone caller and Carol phone call look nothing alike, which means they are, in fact, not the same person! And if you’re saying they still could be: you do know how important fonts are in Undertale, right? If you see text in the Papyrus font, you’re gonna be like ‘oh, that’s Papyrus!’ You’re not gonna say ‘I wonder who that could be that wrote this? Hello world! Back on my ‘Carol can’t be the knight’ agenda! Today’s subject: the ‘The Knight’s sword is Carol’s katana from the kitchen’ theory. This has, in fact, been disproven just now in my mind, and the answer all starts with this:

The black shard! We all know it’s the weapon you get after you beat The Knight. It’s part of their sword and skips a third of the titan fight, but only one of these facts matter, and it’s the former, because check THIS out:

When you check your inventory in the chapter 4 light world, the black shard *remains the black shard*, unlike every other weapon we had from the dark world. I noticed this and had a quick train of thought:

It’s still the black shard.

It’s part of the Knight’s sword.

This means the Knight’s sword remains the same both in the light and dark world, and THAT means it can’t be Carol’s katana. Signing off.

Hello! It’s me again. There have been some questions and I’ve answered them, so here are the questions so there won’t be any doubles.

Q: “Only the skeletons use different fonts, so there’s no way that’s it!”

A: “They are the only ones that use them. Doesn’t mean they’re the only ones who can. And, considering the Knight is a Deltarune original character, we can’t tell anything about them from how the skeletons speak in Undertale. The point stands.”

Q: “It doesn’t need to be a different font, they could have just been whispering!”

A: “We know how whispering looks in Deltarune. For example (couldn’t find a picture of it so here’s just the dialogue):

* ... what the heck is this?

* Um, it's a... holiday treat catcher! ... you know?

* ... anyone want to tell me it's normal to have one? Nobody...?

If you can remember how that last line of dialogue looks, then you know how it looks when some whispers/ speaks faintly in Deltarune.”

Q: “Then what about the phone dialogue? ‘Susie… guitar…? … I’ll be… right there…’ that wouldn’t make sense if it was anyone but Carol, considering she did arrive home shortly after that call.”

A: “The phone call, as you can clearly see, is patchy. The sentences are cut off at random, returning to the end of them. The sentence ‘I’ll be… right there…” can be easily turned into ‘I’ll be at the church, opening the fountain. Carol should be right there’. I believe that the Knight alerted Carol to the fact Susie has the shelter code after the call.”
