came back from the theatrical re-release of Spider-Man 2 (2004) and GOD was it a trip to see it in a theaters again - for context, I was FOUR YEARS OLD when it came out, but it STILL absolutely rules
as a bonus, since the only copy my family has owned is the fullscreen dvd, so it was a treat to see Actually See The Entire Screen again - not to mention the surround sound 👌👌👌 my theater had it turned UP, which is to say that The Entirety of Otto's Surgery was An Experience
(godddd the way that the NAILS against the TILE sounded OUGGHH)
anyway the train scene will always and forever be one of the best moments of superhero media, and I'm SO happy I was able to experience it in a theater again <3

Doc Ock hot take from the friend who just saw Spider-Man 2 as an adult: "I didn't get enough of his little glasses. He kept taking them off. I know it was so he could act but I missed them."

You know what? Everybody better be nice to Harry Osborn from here on out. Imagine if your dad hugged you and promised he was going to make up for years of being a bad parent and then when you see him again later that night he's a dead body. IMAGINE.

Kirsten Dunst's Mary Jane Watson is awesome and underrated.
MJ is smart, interesting, complex, flawed, realistic, relatable, humanized, hot, sexy, beautiful, imperfect, tragic, loyal, awesome, amazing, useful, selfless, heroic, and three-dimensional!

Harry Osborn’s raimiverse casting is scuffed for a lot of well known reasons but one of the biggest ones is that Harry is a lot more sympathetic as a character if you remember how old he is.
Of course this boy is kind of an asshole. He’s seventeen years old. That’s how seventeen year old boys are.
Harry is 19 in Spider-Man 2. He is dead at 21. He fulfills the diagnosis criteria for more entries in the DSM-5 than I do. His dad is like That. Of course he’s the way that he is.

would love to ask the spider-man 2 set designer what the dramaturgical implications are of harry having a giant statue of someone kneeling with their hands behind their back on his desk

James Franco irl makes me so physically ill to my stomach but the Raimi Spider-Man trilogy has one of, if not the most, interesting and relatable Harry Osborn in all of the Spider-Man universes like. He's just such a peculiar specimen and a drenched pathetic cat. Why must we suffer the curse of good characters played by shit actors???
