"Floods are fascinating things! They can be destructive but because they also carry sediment and biological material, so they also can help replenish farmland! Some of the greatest pony and kirin and griffon settlements are all near rivers that flood!"

"That was some grade-A thinking, Nessa! A ton of ponies are out of trouble because of that big brain of yours!" Gold Bat beams the compliment!

"Well of course. Wouldn't I be letting down my duties as Element of Generosity if I couldn't think of such a plan?" Nessa takes it in stride but can't hide her positive reaction. "Heh!"

"Sparks here, I'm downstream, the water's risen a bit but we're only losing a few docks! Looks like we're on the right flow!

Oh, what do you call it? It's not a dam... barricade? Levee? Yea I think that's it, levee! We'll have it ready before most of the flood waters arrive!"

"Oh! And could I get a ride to the rock farm? I need to help moving rocks." Sparks blinks, "But you hate moving rocks!"

"..... I know," Nessa's flat tone doesn't hide she finds this deeply unpleasant.

Power turns to Nessa, serious, "Nessa, I know this is a lot, but you're our best mind, and we need a plan or a lot of ponies are going to be in a lot of trouble."

Scruntching her brow, Nessa the zebra nodes and focuses, "Got it boss...."

For the next twenty minutes, she doesn't say a word, but her mind races.

Finally! "The floods! They'll pass a few miles from the Pie family rock farm.

Fluttershy, Gold Bat, go there and gather as many big animals as you can- there's an Ursa den Gold Bat knows that might be convinced- to gather the rocks and create a floor barrier to divert the flows away from the fields!"

Fluttershy nods, "Right!"

"Rainbow Power, take me to an oversight position where I can direct things, then use your magic to slow down the waters and try and divert them east.

"Sparks, gather fliers, and send them downriver on the Tail River. With luck, we'll be able to divert the waters into the Tail Riversystem, which will suffer a little flooding and need to be evacuated, but the damage will be comparatively minor!"

Rainbow Power nods, "YOU HEARD HER everypony! Now go!"

We can count on Gold Bat to get the ponies safe before we could get in there, but we're already going to be facing a food shortage in the winter!" "Hmm.... I don't think magic alone will solve this one..... we need a plan. You bring Sparks to Fluttershy, I'll get Nassa!" Rainbow Power Feather thinks!

"Yea, with all the flood waters, and the fields, we could be in for a lot of trouble.... " Gold Bat seconds.

"What's the plan?" "You fly and tell the others, I'll try and help here, make sure nopony drowns."

Sparks nods, "We'll get back to you ASP!"
