On James’ first date with regulus (which was probably to a museum or art gallery) while waiting outside he found this really cool looking rock and just had to pick it up and put it in his pocket. The date goes well and all and they plan to have a second so James puts the special rock on his bedside table. At the second date James finds another rock and takes it home. By the time they start dating it’s become a thing, during every date James finds a cool rock, takes it home and adds it to his collection. One day Regulus finds his jar full of rocks and asks what it’s about. James is then able to recall exactly which date each rock is from. Regulus falls even deeper in love with his nerd boyfriend.
