Made this sketch a month ago based off a screenshot I took while watching Grian's Minecraft Evo. To be honest, I traced a lot of the background, but I really enjoyed experimenting with the variations in grayscale, as well as figuring out the perspective lines for the Dirt Cheap tower.

I was introduced to Minecraft Evo and the Life seriess by some friends a while back. Inspired by animatics to try my hand at drawing the Grain. (to my friends this is old art; i wasn't confident enough to post it before, and even now i don't know why im posting it.)

Rediscovered the tools I used for my Rain World comic and got a little carried away.

A little Rain World comic I made about a year ago. It's based off a scene concept for The Stranger/Neo-Iterator AU. The AU itself technically hasn't gotten that far yet ^^; but you can read the latest chapters here.

About a year ago, I started having issues with my hands...

I woke up one morning with an unusual ache in my hands. I found it suddenly hurt to write. It hurt to draw. It hurt to do normal daily things. I have theories, but to this day I still don't know for sure what started it.

At the time, I was in the middle of an art project that was very important to me. I felt that if I could finish it, I'd be one step closer to being the type of person I wanted to be. It wasn't so much about the content of the project as it was about finishing it. I want to be a finisher.

I thought the issue would go away if I took it easier on my hands for a short time. I stepped away from learning the guitar. I tried to limit the time I spent drawing (if you also love to draw, you can imagine how difficult this was for me). This not only slowed my progress, but it didn't seem to help.

I had begun to take breaks even from normal daily tasks, such as doing the dishes and taking out the trash, because of the strain on my hands. It would hurt just to brush my teeth (that was one thing I couldn't skip out on doing).

Everything I love to do, I do with my hands. It all came to a sudden stop. I thought this thing would only last a few weeks. It lasted me months. To this day I still find my hands aching from time to time. I don't get to walk the dog, or play the ukulele as freely as I used to. But thanks be to God, I'm not where I was.

Today, I'm back at drawing, no longer with the anxiety that I'll hurt my hands. I can scribble notes in my journal without pain. I can do chores and make dinner. I can even play Minecraft again 😂

The greatest battle for me wasn't so much the pain as it was the feeling of hopelessness, and helplessness. But God can meet us right where we are at. Like me, the apostle Paul also had a thorn in the flesh. Of this thorn, he said:

Concerning this thing I pleaded with the Lord three times that it might depart from me. And He said to me, “My grace is sufficient for you, for My strength is made perfect in weakness.” Therefore most gladly I will rather boast in my infirmities, that the power of Christ may rest upon me. Therefore I take pleasure in infirmities, in reproaches, in needs, in persecutions, in distresses, for Christ’s sake. For when I am weak, then I am strong. -2nd Corinthians 12:8-10

This is my comfort. This is my hope. In my weakness, He is strong. Let the name of Jesus Christ be praised. Let His fame exceed all others. Praise be to God.

Oh and by the way, I did finish my art project! By God's grace, I was able to complete it within the first couple months that my hands were struggling. It may not seem like much, but for me it was a big deal.

@flufftober Day 6. Prompt: "Mistaken Identity"

Posted late and mostly unfinished, though I did manage to get the character lineart and base colors in before throwing together a very badly done background. Characters are from a story I'm working on. This particular piece is based off some dialogue I was brainstorming the other day:

Fan: Hey Paint Can! Who’s this? Paint Can: She says her name is Kitey. Katie: >:( Katie. Paint Can: That’s what I said. Katie: No, you said “Kitey”. My name is Katie. Paint Can: Like, a nickname? Katie: Katie, as in, Katelyn. Fan: Isn’t Katelyn a human name? Katie: Uh, yeah. That’s because I’m human. Paint Can: … Oh. You’re one of those objects. Katie: What’s that supposed to mean? Paint Can: Crazy. Fan: -H-Hey Paint Can– Katie: You think I’m crazy? You think I’m clinically insane? Paint Can: Clinically, no. Comedically, yes. Fan: -C’mon Paint Can… Katie: And do you think I’m crazy too? Fan: ... No?? I mean yes. But being comedically crazy isn’t necessarily a bad thing!

I was busy this day and couldn't get past a first sketch, unfortunately. Anyhoo, this one was inspired by one of my favorite childhood TV shows, Jane and the Dragon.

@flufftober Day 2! Prompt: "Left. Other left!" This prompt kind of mingled with some ideas I had for my fan-imagined ONE part 3. Charlotte is trying to give Subway Seat directions, I guess. I honestly had a lot of fun with this one.

My first post for @flufftober. I couldn't wrap my head around the first prompt, so I went with one of the alternates, "Rainy Day".

I was trying to figure out how to tag my upcoming Flufftober prompts when I came across this. I am truly grateful for the reminder that there is no guilt in prioritizing things in life that are more important than a daily prompt challenge. I'm actually going to miss a few days for that very reason. Friends, I encourage you to also keep your priorities straight and take care of yourselves. :3

Shout out to the people not doing Inktober, Flufftober, NaNoWriMo, etc. this year (or any year) for whatever reason.

Because they have prior work commitments (retail/service can be hell this time of year).

Because they’re too busy with school work or exam prep.

Because they’re dealing with chronic conditions and illnesses.

Because they have poor mental health and want to prioritise that.

Have other personal priorities and commitments.

Because they have no ideas or are between projects.

Because they don’t have energy.

Because they just don’t bloody well want to thank you very much.

You aren’t any less valid as an artist/writer/creator, and can’t/shouldn’t be pressured into doing anything you don’t want to do or made to feel bad about it.

As has become tradition, we offer you last year's top five fan favorites (as voted in the end survey). In addition to that, we also offer a little challenge: five angsty prompts for you to turn fluffy!

If you don't want to replace any prompt from the original list but still love the additional ones - or you simply want to challenge yourself even further - you can also mix them all together!

No inc*st or p*dophilia - we can’t keep you from writing it or creating art for it but it won’t be reblogged. No inc*st: This rule does not apply to distant cousins and such, as you might find in the LotR fandom (or basically in all of European Monarchy). The line we draw is at direct blood relations (siblings, parents, kids) and/or legal guardianship. No p*dophilia: This rule does not rule out fandoms that feature teenagers such as Harry Potter, Heartstoppers, Hunger Games, etc. It also doesn't mean you can't write about their time together as teenagers! It's aimed at ships in which one is a minor and the other is not - but since even that has grey areas, the rule is this: if you keep it SFW, all is good and allowed, we don't care; if it turns NSFW, be mindful of the legalities of the world/society/times your characters live in.

No hate or ship bashing - we’re all different and we all love different things. As long as it doesn’t go against rule #1, it’s allowed.

Tag correctly! Trigger warnings (including cheating!), ships, ratings, (pure) smut, etc - it’s all fine as long as you tag it.

There’s absolutely no word count restriction, write as little or as much as you like.

In regards to art, anything goes: drawings, paintings, collages, mood boards, gif sets, videos, playlists… the sky’s the limit (though not really…). If you would like to create a podfic, the fic you're using does not have to be new - your creation will be new!

You can mix and mash different mediums however you like, be it within one prompt or on different days.

While we can’t force you to write fluff or create fluffy art, please try to keep in mind that this is a fluff event 😉 that, of course, doesn't mean you can't combine it with angsty/whumpy prompts - hurt/comfort is absolutely welcome!

You can start creating as soon as you see this - but please refrain from posting before the respective day.

If you post early, we will schedule your post for the correct day; if you use multiple prompts in one creation, we will post on the earliest day you used.

You can participate on as many days as you like, even if it’s just one; you can also create multiple entries for the same day.

You can replace as many original prompts as you like with our prompt extras; you can also combine them with the original prompts or create for them in addition, that's completely up to you.

It’s okay to write one story/a series for all the prompts.
