Tyannie + ty reveals his feelings in an argument
Thanks for the prompt, here is the story. Quick note that there might be some mistakes in it so sorry about that! Enjoy!
“I simply don’t want you to go, how many times do I have to repeat myself?!” Ty was almost shouting out of frustration. He was at Annie’s place, because she had asked him to come over to ask him for a favour. If he had known what it was beforehand, he would have stayed home.
“I don’t get why you’re so against it. Who do you think you are? My mom?! I’m not going to let you tell me what I should do and what I shouldn’t!” Annie said. She was tired being treated like a kid by everyone surrounding her. It was bad enough that her mom treated her like a ten year old, but now Ty?!
“I don’t even get why you’re asking me! I thought I made it very clear that I didn’t want to drive you to Jackson anymore” Ty said, remembering very well the moment he had told her and their hands had touched on the handle of the door and sparks flew. Unfortunately, this argument was kind of the opposite. The room was filled with tension, but it wasn’t a romantic one.
“I know, but I thought that maybe you would have changed your mind. And I get that you don’t want to do it because you’re afraid to get into trouble with his mom again but-“
“That’s not the reason I don’t want to go, I don’t care one bit about what his mom thinks” Ty interrupted her.
“Then what’s the reason? Because I don’t get it.” Annie said, getting tired of this fight. All she did was ask Ty for a ride to Jackson, because he wanted to talk to her. She thought it was a good idea to ask Ty to drive her since they had been on way better terms these last couple of months.
“Because I love you Annie”
Annie didn’t realise the gravity behind these words: “I know you’re my best friend too, and I know you want to protect me and you think he’s going to hurt me again…”
“No, Annie. I love you. I am in love with you and I don’t want to drive you there because I don’t want you getting back together with Jackson. Just the thought of you two alone drives me insane.”
Silence. Ty could die right now. Annie’s mouth was a little bit open, while she was trying to process what Ty had just blurted out. “You… You’re… in love… with me?” She said very slowly. She pinched herself to make sure she wasn’t dreaming.
“Yes, I am” Ty softly said and he took a step closer to her. “I am in love with you Annie Sullivan” He took her head between his hands and kissed her. He kissed her like he had never kissed someone before.
So this was the first story. I hoped you enjoyed it. I'm working on the other prompts as well (so don't worry these are coming, also the Quogan ones).

Sweet Magnolias Season 4 isn’t perfect, but most of what we get between Ty and Annie feels unquestionably earned. The season’s first episode wobbles between telling us way too much instead of showing all the delicious details, yet much of what we see is a long time coming that we can piece together to better understand a romantic journey that feels sincere, vulnerable, and meant to last.

i saw people being so dramatic about the sweet magnolias ending, and it ended just fine??? all those cliffhangers, and it ended beautifully. i thought i was in for a ride, and aside from annie and ty, everything is a sparkly ring.
spoiler: ty got too excited and scared. he should not have said what he said to annie. like damn. he could have asked her to go with him during the summer, but the fall too? fuckkkkk that.
and i will say, her dress was beautiful and i love her and she deserves to live her dream

I stand by what I’ve said!!!
With the time jump for Season 4, Maddie and Cal’s storyline makes sense!! They took the time they needed to get to a proposal and a year has passed between S3 and S4.
Show Ty has entered a similar situation of Book Ty with Show Ty’s music, BUT I think that after everything with baseball for him in the show, he still has more depth and knows what it’s like to have more than one interest. He has a bit more of a healthy understanding of what his options are.
While touring with a band could pose the same situation of Show Ty sleeping with a fan the way Book Ty did, I’m hoping that they don’t backtrack the growth of Show Ty and do that. I hope that Show Ty has seen the devastation and result of cheating that he won’t do it.
Also, I hope the showrunners are more original than having Show Ty and Show Annie go through the same dynamics as Annie’s parents because that storyline has been played and I didn’t like the book giving Book Annie the same love story trope as her parents.
May I give myself a pat on the back about noting that Show Annie has more of a backbone than Book Annie?! She said “I’m following my dreams and thinking outside the boy!” (Yes, I used a song title!! But I think that song is perfect for these two!!)
Let me know what you think after season 4!!
Sweet Magnolias “Okay, but…” rant
Can we just talk for a second about Show vs. Book characters?!
I’ve seen SO many posts and interviews or whatever that talk about how the show will follow the books and all - and while that is FANTASTIC couple-wise - but I’m not really convinced that it can.
Character Point 1: Annabelle “Annie” Sullivan
Show Annie is healthy while Book Annie had an eating disorder. I’m not saying that if they decided to follow that storyline that it couldn’t work, but… she’s so conscious of what her mom eats - she attempted to remove all sugars from their home after Dana Sue went to the hospital - that I’m not sure how they would make it believable.
Book Annie ends up becoming a physical therapist or some such and working at The Corner Spa. She COULD choose this path for her life in the show. BUT Show Annie seems more design oriented than Book Annie ever seemed to be. At the moment, I can’t see Show Annie having any interest in being a physical therapist person.
Book Annie seems to have less backbone or equal footing in comparison to Show Annie. The way it seems in the books is that Annie became a physical therapist person BECAUSE of Ty. Like her decisions only focused on a boy. That may just be my interpretation. But Show Annie is part of that blog or message board or whatever that posts photos of the “real Serenity” and I just never got that vibe from Book Annie.
Character Point 2: Tyler “Ty” Townsend
Let’s start with the MAIN divergence that I see between the two: cheating on partner and getting someone else pregnant. They COULD do this - I’d stop watching in protest - BUT it would major shifts in personality/perspective/attitude for it to seem convincing. Show Ty was SO mad at his father for cheating on Maddie and ruining their family by getting someone else pregnant. I can’t see the boy who barely tolerated Noreen’s presence and noticeably grew agitated when she watched his games ever turn around and do that to the person he was with. Especially not if that person was Annie.
Book Ty seems TOO invested in baseball to really be the same person as Show Ty. Maybe thats just because we’ve seen Show Ty deal with the loss of being able to play baseball already and having that “baseball bubble” shattered. Show Ty has already dealt with an injury that requires a break from baseball and he’s found other things he enjoys in that time. Book Ty never seems to have that revelation. Show Ty just seems to have more depth of character to me.
Book Ty just seems to think things will fall into place with very little work. I remember in one of the books, Ty has a conversation with Cal and Cal calls him out on believing that just showing up would guarantee that things went the way Ty wanted. Show Ty seems to have started to be a bit more humbled already. Someone his age called him out on just trying to flirt his way into getting what he wants. Also, Show Ty has had to watch Annie with someone else and not be able to say anything. I don’t recall anything like that for Book Ty.
Character Point 3: Maddie Townsend
Show Maddie has been dating Cal a while, right? No proposals or pregnancies as far as I can see. It feels in-authentic for Show Maddie to decide on trusting and marrying someone that fast.
Character Point 4: Helen Decatur
Book Helen and Book Erik were in a friends-with-benefits relationship. Show Helen and Erik are friends - we’re ignoring that rough patch where they don’t talk - but I have yet to see hide nor hair of “with-benefits” in the show.
Book Helen is so desperate for a child that she manipulates Book Erik to get what she wants. Show Helen is a wonderful lawyer that gets what needs done done. But Show Helen would NEVER violate trust given to her like THAT. Show Helen wants children, but she’s gonna do it by herself if she has to; none of that (toxic) behavior needed as she’s too kind-hearted for that.
Need I go on???
Does anyone ACTUALLY think that we can really say that the show will follow the books?!
thank you for listening to my rant.
(Yes, I adore TyAnnie)

Sweet magnolia spoiler don’t read if haven’t watched season 4
Can someone tell me why they had to end it that way for Annie and Ty we waited 4seasons for them to get together only for them to have that big disagreement.Annie wants to go to her school of her dreams and I get that Ty wants her to go on tour and share that experience with her but she shouldn’t have to put her dreams on hold so she can go follow him they could’ve had a compromised she could’ve gone for the summer and go back to school in the fall why she gotta be there for the whole tour?
