Welcome to my blog! I’d like to introduce this thoroughly before posting any real content on here so here’s a big explanation of what I’m doing here.
I took music lessons for about 6 years, and in that time I learned a lot about music theory. But it’s been several years since I stopped taking those lessons, and I haven’t studied much and in turn, I’ve forgotten a whole lot of it. Which sucks because I absolutely love music. Recently I began to think, and I decided that I would start relearning everything I forgot, and eventually go beyond what I learned before. I know it’s not going to be easy, but I believe I can do it.
This blog is going to be a sort of journey, I’m going to be learning all these things and I want to share them with you. As a student, I know that it often helps a lot to get help from a fellow student, and I want to provide that help, by offering simple explanations for some trickier concepts to understand.
Note, I am not a music teacher, and I am in no way claiming that this blog should serve as any replacement for a professional music education. But, if you’re currently struggling with understanding music theory, and want to see another perspective, this blog might help, even if it’s just a little. And please comment on anything that I post in case you have any questions, or just want to start a dialogue about any concepts covered in this blog.
I’m going to start this off with the simplest thing I could think of, which is an intro into clefs and sheet music notation. That post should be coming some time in the next week. Definitely by next Tuesday. I hope to see you then.
