I dunno man. I found out today that a subway sandwich is $14 now. A shitty subway footlong sandwich that isn't actually 12 inches long and is occasionally made with expired ingredients and was never a great option to start with. I ate those in high school because I was broke and at the mall a lot.

There are poke bowls in my city from a local place for $16. Super fresh fish and veg, warm rice, more than I can eat in one sitting, for the price of a sandwich and a drink at america's most mid-tier sandwich shop.

Someone in another post said (paraphrased) you used to be able to get something mediocre for cheap, but now the mediocre things cost as much as the nice things so why would you?

Time for a rant I'm sure most people on tumblr have already heard/seen/made but I have to say I really Really am starting to despise when people use the word "unaliving" seriously.

Like. I get using it on platforms like youtube and tiktok where the slightest deviation away from Acceptable is enough to get you banned, but can we please stop using it in other parts of the interwebs? you know, the ones that don't care if you say Motherfucking cocksucker go fucking die with your full chest.

There is something to be said about how different Jinwoo as a hunter is from Suho as a hunter:

Jinwoo spent four years fighting for his life, nearly dying over and over again in dungeons. He overprepares and plans for every fight because its always been his mind and instincts which kept him alive, not his brute strength.

Suho spent most of his life as a civilian, but he had dreams where he got to fight monsters in a video game. Even if he knows now that he won't get multiple lives if he dies, his past experiences inform the way he battles as if he's still playing a game.

Jinwoo plays solo because being betrayed and looked down on as an E-rank taught him that he can't trust others.

Suho plays on a team because he remembers the unconditional love he received from his family and the shadow army as a child.

Jinwoo is methodical and uses a clear-cut strategy to defeat his opponents. Aim for the eyes, the bigger they are the harder they fall—he exploits weak points on his enemy to gain advantages in a fight.

Suho is creative and tends to think outside the box when it comes to high-pressure situations. Having his flying shadow soldier only partially emerge from his shadow, so that he can use its wings to fly on his own—is just one example of Suho's artsy side coming out during a fight.

They're father and son, yet their approaches to leveling up and hunting enemies are very different, something which I appreciate about how they're written in their respective novels.

Haein, Jinho, and Jinah find out about Jinwoo’s leveling thing and Jinah’s like “oh, SHIT, you’ve never played a video game in your life. Please tell me you figured out how to minmax” and he writes down his stats and all three of them spend the next four hours having aneurisms over how bad his build is

And I mean passionate, sadistic hatred. And I'm not exaggerating. Believe me. Sadistic, passionate hatred, and that's what proves they're strong, their passionate hatred for weakness. Sometimes they will lump vulnerability in with weakness. They do that because people tend to start humbling themselves when they're in some compromising or overwhelming circumstance, and to them, that's an obvious sign of weakness. Kindness = weakness. Honesty = weakness. Compromise = weakness. They consider their very existence to be superior in every way to anyone who doesn't hate weakness as much as they do. They consider liberals to be weak people that are inferior, almost a different species, and the fact that liberals are so weak is why they have to unite in large numbers, which they find disgusting, but it's that disgust that is a true expression of their natural superiority. Go ahead and try to have a logical, rational conversation with them. Just keep in mind what I said here and be forewarned.”
