Thinking about how Alejandro is the type to tease you for your weapon of choice.
You’re at a table assembling your weapon when you feel the colonel peering over your shoulder “is that what you’re going with today eh?” You state your reasons for picking it and he says things like “hey I’m not judging yeah?”, “aha I’m sure it’s a good choice” but he says it in a tone that sounds a bit too playful and you don’t have to turn around to know he’s got a shit eating grin on his face.
But the second you leave your weapon unattended he’s making sure the weapon is operational for the mission, counting and recounting the bullets, checking for anything that could potentially go wrong and put you in harms way. When you come back to the table you have a suspicious look on your face, wondering what the colonel could have been doing with your weapon while you weren’t there. By then he’s back to acting all playful and innocent, hands in the air with a mischievous smile on his face.

ngl i think the reason watcher jumped the gun and couldnt do what nebula and dropout did was because those are HUGE websites, while watcher is just 3 guys (that we know and recognize at least, i know they employ a lot of people). nebula is supported by massive youtubers, which post additional and exclusive content in ADDITTION to what they post on youtube. dropout used to be collegehumor, something that rivaled buzzfeed back in the hayday. if they wanted to make an original site, they need other channels on board to justify the cost

you should be very proud of the work you do it makes so many people so happy!! its cliche but its true!! your work is so great !! It’s really soft and nice and it makes me nostalgic in a way :33
Ahhhh I'm getting so many sweet things said to me today QwQ this is definitely enough to last a whole year omg shshhsb
But thank you! I unfortunately do have some insecurities with my art and how I portrait characters I draw (Dave especially- I never know when I'm being too ooc with him ^^') but seeing all of your guy's nice words and reblogs definitely lift me up in high spirits and make me want to draw literally everyday! I genuinely have to stop myself from posting too many times a day and instead queue them haha...
But seriously I haven't felt this excited to draw in a very long time and I really do appreciate everyone's support. Especially with such kind words like this it's really easy to skip out of that damn art block! You guys definitely make things easier for me, especially with all these asks haha! So thank you alot, I seriously appreciate everyone whose enjoyed my art so far :)))

I've been getting snacks from the vending machine at school and leaving them in my school bag when I don't eat them.
I left my school bag in the dining room when I got home yesterday, with two things of twix in it.
My dad did not know I've been leaving candy in my school bag, so he was slightly confused when I walked into the room and started digging around in my bag.
"What'cha doing?" He asks, watching me open the bag and put my hand in.
Tumblr media
"What the fuck!?"
He exclaims as I pull out a candy bar to show him what I was doing.

They don't talk about it.
But there's no way Nate should know those things. No way the client could have told him, no way he could've figured it out on his own. Not when these things were nothing more than fleeting thoughts from the mark. But Sophie notices him quietly go for the scotch behind the counter and rub at his head in pain with extra vehemence some days despite the latest con having no personal connection to him.
They don't talk about it.
But someone should've recognized Sophie on that con. There's no way she could have that many characters per con. No way none of those diplomats didn't recognize her from any of her previous cons. Not when she didn't change any more than her clothes and accent. But Nate notices her features seem to flicker at the peace and safety of home when she thinks he isn't watching.
They don't talk about it.
But no one could've survived that. And certainly not looking the way he does. There's no way he didn't come out of that fight broken and bloodied to all hell. Not when instead he walks out with a purposeful stride and only a clenched jaw, rolling his shoulders. But when he's cooking and accidentally burns himself, Parker notices the unmarked skin left behind.
They don't talk about it.
But not all vents are human sized. They all saw the size of the vent cover as she exists with a grin. There's no way she could've fit in there. Not when the human body can't bend that way, a way that even the greatest contortionist can't bend. But some days Hardison notices as she seems to stretch and bend before his eyes when she's feeling relaxed and safe enough.
They don't talk about it.
But that's not how computers work. There's no way Hardison could access that kind of thing. Not when he describes how he did it like that. Not when he does it so quickly like that. Not when he says he's taken berries and the next thing they know he's recreated a colonial era journal to perfection. But Eliot swore he shoved a glass of water at him, not more goddamn orange soda.
They don't talk about it, the thing lingering over their heads as they conduct each con, the unacknowledged thing between the five of them that's a little deeper than just a desire to take down the rich and powerful.
They aren't perfect, they all know that- sometimes they're too good with their covers, sometimes they have to shift gears as the con unfolds before them, but somehow things always seem to work out.
But no one asks about it, so-
They don't talk about it.

if i had a nickel for every time i watched a show about con artists and (one of) the most popular fandom ships was an ot3 polycule, i’d have two nickels. which isn’t a lot but it’s weird that it happened twice, right?

Broadchurch ramble 4
Have been rewatching S3, and this scene really warms my heart in some ways.
This scene, Alec awkwardly tried to explain why he had t leave early, but actually very cute I think. Maybe Ellie and their coworkers thought so too. These people are police, and they have known Hardy for years. It wouldn’t be so hard to guess what their boss would do, especially when he was awkward like this.
And look at the smile they shared! It wasn't mocking, instead, this smile felt kind and genuine and they were really happy for him, like 'Awww, our grumpy boss finally has some personal life except work! He's definitely going to see someone!'
Coworkers know what kind of person Alec Hardy really is now after all those things. His gruff exterior is a suit of armor that shields the heart of one of the most gentle, decent men. His temper is still awful during a horrible case, and he is still insociable and grouchy as always, but they do respect him now, and tbh, like him. He might not realise but his coworkers care about him. They might still call Alec Hardy 'shitface' sometimes, but I don't think this name now is as bad as it was in S1, or say, those time Alec just started working with them. More like something only they can say, and they will NOT allow anyone else to use this or anything to insult their boss.
Alec Hardy isn't an outsider anymore, he's one of them, part of this town now. (well, guess how long it will take him to notice this? Someone really should remind him, guess that person will be Daisy or Ellie)

Shadowhunter Promptlet: Obeisance
In honor of the impending AO3 Shutdown Great Panic, please have a writing promptlet from one of my oldest journals. Fun fact: this is the predecessor to my angsty fic For Every Bird There Is a Stone. :)
~
When Alec is sixteen he discovers that his parents were in the Circle.
Not trusting any story they would tell him, Alec doesn't ask his mother or his father about their past, going instead to Alicante on official business and slipping the Hall of Records on his way back to New York.
Alec reads the file he illegally copied and is unsurprised to learn they were highly ranked- Maryse was one of Valentine's highest generals- and neither his mother nor his father stopped killing Downworlders without reason until it was made a condition of their parole.
Alec wishes he was surprised.
The file on his parent’s activity estimates the number of Downworlders they murdered and tortured, but no names are listed. The werewolves and the Seelie and the vampires and the warlocks are all left almost entirely anonymous, not even a cursory effort to identify them.
Alec reads every single word in both documents and discovers that there is one name contained in both, a single name that belongs to the only known survivor of his parent's wrath under Valentine's orders: a warlock that Maryse and Robert brutally tortured before his escape. Magnus Bane.
Alec is livid when he finds out that Magnus was never so much as apologized to, not even when he was later contracted by his parents to perform magical upkeep of the NYI wards after their parole.
When Shadowhunters have wronged another, the strongest expression of regret and repentance in nephilim culture is performing obeisance before the one who was wronged. It’s an expression of complete abjection and humility, acknowledging you (or one you are responsible for) have wronged the recipient and your punishment is in their hands.
In response to what he’s learned, Alec petitions the Clave for not only the Institute in full, but also the Headship of the Lightwood family.
Disgusted as they are by not only Maryse and Robert’s past actions, but also by their cowardice in refusing to take responsibility for their actions in the Circle and their present action in effectively leaving the Headship of the NYI to their son since he was fourteen, the Clave agrees. After the ceremonial transfer, Alec goes directly to Pandemonium.
Magnus asks sarcastically if the new Head of the NYI is there to lay down the law or to make trouble. Alec doesn’t respond. Instead, he disarms himself, laying his weapons on the ground. All of them.
“Last week, I petitioned the Clave for Headship of not only the New York Institute, but also the Lightwood family. Both were granted, making me directly responsible for the future actions of all Shadowhunters under my command, but also for all actions of the Lightwood family, future and past.”
Alec breathes deeply. “My parents, Robert and Maryse Lightwood, were in the Circle and believe wholly in the racist, genocidal doctrine preached by Valentine Morganstern. They committed unspeakable atrocities in his name to all factions of Downworlders, but when they spoke of their crimes to the Clave when requesting leniency, they only named the species of those they murdered and tortured without remorse. Except for you, High Warlock Bane. You, they named.”
Magnus was coldly imperious when he spoke. “Did you come to request absolution on their behalf, Shadowhunter? Because you certainly won’t receive it from me. Your parents slaughtered dozens for no other reason than their blood, and I will not forgive them.”
Alec nodded. “I didn’t expect you too. However, when I accepted the Lightwood Headship, the responsibility for their crimes became mine to bear. Although I know that this will be no consolation for you or for the friends and families of those hurt by my parents, you should know that I have ordered them confined to their home in Idris for the rest of their lives. They will never again bear weapons or act as members of the body of the Clave. They will never again harm another Downworlder. You have my oath on that.”
Magnus raised a brow. “A letter would have sufficed if that’s all you have to say.”
“No.” Alec paused. “Are- are you aware of the nephilim Rite of Obeisance?”
Magnus paused for a fraction of a second, only noticeable to Alec given his closeness to the warlock. “I’ve heard of it, yes. It’s only been performed twice in the past century, if I remember correctly?”
Alec’s lips twitched sardonically. “It’s fallen out of favor since it requires admitting fault and accepting the consequence without possibility of appeal.”
Magnus’ own smile was cruelly amused. “Yes, I can see why you nephilim might not like that thought when the Clave hands out pardons to anyone with an old enough family name.”
Alec didn’t respond for a long moment. When he did, his voice was soft, but not hesitant. “Like they did to my parents.”
“Yes,” Magnus agreed, even though Alec hadn’t made it a question.
Alec closed his eyes for a brief moment in acknowledgement, then looked up to lock gazes with Magnus. “High Warlock Bane,” Alec’s voice was pitched to carry, his intonation suddenly formal. “As Head of the Lightwood Family, Maryse and Robert Lightwood now fall under my responsibility. They have both committed grievous harm to your person and have also committed grievous harm, including murder, to an unknown number of warlocks under your protection. Their crimes have not been punished by the Clave, nor can their crimes be fully addressed by anyone other than one harmed by them.”
And before the astonished eyes of all those present in Pandemonium, Alec sank to his knees, bowing forward until his forehead touched to floor in front of Magnus’ feet.
“As the one bearing responsibility for their actions, I give myself wholly to you in the fullest expression of remorse I can offer. In recompense for the harm done to you and yours, everything I have, up to my life, I give in offering to you.”

So I rewatched The Card Game Job today and oof this scene at the end really hit me in the guts this time.
I know this scene is so much about Breanna and her identity struggles and I don't wanna detract from that, but this was the first time I've really noticed Parker glancing off to the side.
Tumblr media
She's not looking at Springer or Cordozar, she's looking at Eliot. And I can't help but think that she is thinking about herself and Eliot and Hardison. How she's been called crazy her whole life and never really had a place to fit in. How Eliot lost his identity to the one thing that was meant to define him. How Hardison is well adjusted but still went through those same struggles of being different and strange and not fitting in.
Tumblr media
Parker is thinking about how she found a home with not just the Leverage crew but with Eliot and Hardison. She knows how deeply, intrinsically important that home is to her, and this helps her understand Breanna better. But this is also a moment of Parker missing Hardison, of wanting him to be here to share in Parker's revelation and Breanna's triumph through vulnerability.
Tumblr media
I love that we see the reactions of the team to Breanna taking this stand, especially the pride on Harry and Eliot's faces. But Parker looks not only proud of her mentee, she looks a little heartbroken. Because Breanna just said, 'Like we do belong' and now Parker can't stop thinking about Hardison and how he was truly the first person in her life to make her feel like she belonged somewhere but he's not here to share this moment and ...
Idk it's just this homage to Hardison for me. He's not physically present for most of the series and we miss him. But his influence, his presence is still felt. And I love that we get to see it even through moments like this.
And yeah, I'm like Parker in this moment. I wish Hardison had been there to watch his little sister with pride.
