ngl i think the reason watcher jumped the gun and couldnt do what nebula and dropout did was because those are HUGE websites, while watcher is just 3 guys (that we know and recognize at least, i know they employ a lot of people). nebula is supported by massive youtubers, which post additional and exclusive content in ADDITTION to what they post on youtube. dropout used to be collegehumor, something that rivaled buzzfeed back in the hayday. if they wanted to make an original site, they need other channels on board to justify the cost

your rb about inner worlds rarely appearing on their own is very interesting to me. i also almost definitely have hyperphantasia and i don't recall anything about my inner world in my childhood / teen years, with the memory loss, but i have found illustrations i made of it when i was 10-11 years old, so i always wonder how it came about. i know i used to daydream and 'play fantasy' a lot; wonder if it was related. (im @skyritual)
heya!
so i wanna share our personal experience here a bit for context on where jade was coming from in that reblog.
i’ll be so honest, and this is cringe of me but i do not care because it’s true: watching sherlock in our tween-early teen years unlocked a magnificent door for us as far as headspace building goes. we were one of those ND kids who went full force on fandom, y’know? cosplay, emulating characters in day to day life, the whole nine yards. so when sherlock did the “mind palace” thing, we were kind of like “oh, that’s easy, we already have the big house” (which was the first solid part of our innerworld). but that show really encouraged us to put more time into “exploring” our innerworld realm— it’s always felt as if it’s always been there, but, as much as i know what things seem like, i’m also a man of science. i know that we were technically “imagining it on the fly as we explored the place. we’ve always “seen” it like it’s a real, physical world, even if it isn’t.
the big house that i mentioned before was something we “found” (created) as a little kid. our old host would go there “to play with his imaginary friends” (that’s what he thought we were back then). again, it seemed to just spawn in, but i think our child brain was just so quick with creativity-oriented things that it was easy to accept that as true.
all this to say, it’s totally possible that you could’ve “created” some of your headspace back when you were 10-11. and there’s a good chance that it wouldn’t have even felt like creating anything. i think when you’ve got hyperphantasia or can visualize quickly, it can definitely feel like it appeared without any work involved. because the work’s subconscious to a degree.
which kinda brings me back to the reblog. i think it’s entirely possible for a system with hyperphantasia that has never given it any real attention to have virtually no headspace, and conversely for a system with aphantasia that puts a lot of time into it to have a vast headspace. (though i would assume it’s a different experience for them, and they likely wouldn’t “see” it, but it’s still there.)
sorry that this turned into a ramble of sorts, but hopefully a piece of it is interesting or helpful at least 😅

you should be very proud of the work you do it makes so many people so happy!! its cliche but its true!! your work is so great !! It’s really soft and nice and it makes me nostalgic in a way :33
Ahhhh I'm getting so many sweet things said to me today QwQ this is definitely enough to last a whole year omg shshhsb
But thank you! I unfortunately do have some insecurities with my art and how I portrait characters I draw (Dave especially- I never know when I'm being too ooc with him ^^') but seeing all of your guy's nice words and reblogs definitely lift me up in high spirits and make me want to draw literally everyday! I genuinely have to stop myself from posting too many times a day and instead queue them haha...
But seriously I haven't felt this excited to draw in a very long time and I really do appreciate everyone's support. Especially with such kind words like this it's really easy to skip out of that damn art block! You guys definitely make things easier for me, especially with all these asks haha! So thank you alot, I seriously appreciate everyone whose enjoyed my art so far :)))

Every time I get sick off eating nothing but junk food the whole day I think to myself "well this sucks, I've definitely learned my lesson and will never be doing that again."
And Yet.

I love the Leverage episodes where they're truly just psychologically tormenting a guy.
Like obviously they first establish that the guy is a terrible guy who does terrible guy things. And we really do need the terrible guy to be doing a lot of terrible guy things because this is kinda an ethical nightmare, but don't worry, they are reliably doing a lot of terrible guy things.
But then it is just like "hey, let's convince this guy that he's made first contact with aliens and also that aliens are trying to kill him" or "hey, let's make this guy believe he's contracted a deadly disease and is going to die in quarantine because medical staff are abandoning him" or "hey, let's first try to persuade this journalist that the government is secretly creating Guantanamo Bay 2: Underground Boogaloo in your backyards and when she doesn't run with that story, let's then make her think that oops the government accidentally leaked some kind of bioweapon into the waterways and now water is gonna kill you instead."

there’s something to the fact that hardison is both the person who acknowledged that eliot wakes up every day saying he hasn’t done enough to redeem himself (and likely never will think he has) and the person to tell eliot, to his face, that seeing eliot get hurt on behalf of hardison is something he can’t keep doing forever.
because yeah, it is a choice on eliot’s part to keep going. and yeah, he has his reasons for it.
to me, hardison is kinda clearly saying that to him, eliot has done enough. but it’s okay that eliot might not ever think that.
#had this thought looking at another post and didn’t want to ramble this in tags#leverage#leverage redemption#alec hardison#eliot spencer

if i had a nickel for every time i watched a show about con artists and (one of) the most popular fandom ships was an ot3 polycule, i’d have two nickels. which isn’t a lot but it’s weird that it happened twice, right?

as much as i love all the 'parker and ezekiel know each other because they're both very well known thieves' it's funnier that parker has no clue who ezekiel is but hardison does
ezekiel is a thief, but he's a thief who mostly relies on technology, similar to hardison. we see him picking locks, and similar to parker we see how much he knows about different types, however while parker tends to work with her hands (using vents, lockpicks, more vents) ezekiel tends to walk through and does most of it on his phone (like hardison)
ezekiel is aware of parker, but he and hardison have definitely competed multiple times to steal the same object in the same way and they keep butting heads about it

The Side Job.
Sophie is worried about Parker, so she follows, she can't resist the lure. She always caught them, worked them out of a tough spot - and Parker's her daughter, in all the ways that count. Why wouldn't she try and help her?
Breanna trusts Parker, she's always ready to spring into action for her. But she has her own ideas, she's eager and excited and wants to change the world and she's looked up to Parker her whole life. Parker is her idol, she can do no wrong, and it unnerves her a little bit when she acts differently to how she expects.
Harry knows to give people time, it's the Dad instincts, so he let's her be until she asks for help. He let's her figure herself out, because isn't that what people do? He's figuring himself out, he's not going to begrudge her from doing the same thing. He respects her enough to make the choices she needs to make. He trusts her enough not to worry, even when he should.
Eliot 'I've got you back, no matter what' fucking Spencer. Whatever choice she makes, he just wants it to be the right one for her. He needs her to answer her own question, he can't answer it for her. But whatever it is, it's hers. He made his choices long ago, and he lives with that. He knows she'll carry it with her no matter what, but he knows how heavy that hangs around someone without anyone else to carry it. He's got her, always. (But still - he hovers. He worries about her. That's what he does)
And Hardison, even though he wasn't there on this job - he is never far from Parker's thoughts. His questioning throws Parker for a loop, why wouldn't it? The thing she thought she knew the best suddenly shifted on her, it would be enough to rattle anyone.
Parker never stopped believing in what they did, she just needed to find herself in the mythos everyone had around her, the crews, the work. "The Parker" changed, both by herself and with the people who love her. Her anger was always her guide, it's that just the game is different now. She looked back and the world had changed, and she changed with it, and she wasn't sure she recognised herself anymore.
But she's still there. She found the little girl she used to be and became the person she needed then.

started my leverage rewatch and never has a pilot episode piloted so hard. it genuinely feels like walking into a room of old friends you haven't seen in about a year. they work alone, they always work alone. parker? she's insane. what're you gonna do when she finds out you live with your mom? age of the geek, baby! twenty pounds of crazy in a five pound bag. boys are on their way. what is it that you do? that's what i do. are we gonna talk about how hard we rocked last night? one show only, no encores. it was kinda cool being on the same side for once. i don't like guns. my money is not in my account that makes me cry inside in my special angry place. eleventy million dollars. that's a computer thing i told her to say that. so this time you really are inside my head. i'm just very good at what i do. somebody kiss this man so i don't have to (🤨). bad guys have money. we work on an alternative revenue stream. we provide... leverage

oh god when karen white confronts alec at the trader’s hotel saying “i won’t let you do that to another family” and he just. stares. he was going off at her a moment before, but now he just stares. then the scene cuts. oh my GODDDDD YOU CAN SEE THE WAY IT’S EATING AT HIMMMMM
like yes alec already has a habit of just blankly not responding. he’ll follow through with a conversation and then just hop off halfway through (*cough* autism *cough*). but this time, his silence is different. it isn’t him not knowing how to respond, it’s him ACTIVELY FIGHTING TO HOLD HIS TONGUE
he made a decision to take the blame for tess and daisy’s sake, and now he just has to sit there and take it, to cope with his own decision. you can see him gritting his teeth, coming to terms with that in that moment, and it’s ONLY something you can notice in hindsight once you know about sandbrooke
#the only time alec has to fight to HOLD his tongue instead of fight to get the words out#is when he’s faced with his crushing sense of moral obligation#he cares about those families so much#and not disappointing them#even though sandbrooke wasnt technically his fault he still feels guilty#he discharges himself from the hospital saying he cant let down the family#so when someone accuses him of not caring he was probably about to fucking explode#and YET#he also had an obligation towards HIS family#so he holds his tongue#even though his family get the impression that he cares about the cases more than them#here he makes it clear#if he had to choose#what he would choose#im crazy im crazy im crazy#these are very half baked thoughts im sorry#im just rambling#broadchurch#alec hardy#david tennant#autistic alec hardy
