Happy To Be Here

My honorable ancestors were sad that day 

 I was supposed to be at Cheesecake factory with friends celebrating something

Instead I was in the emergency room hooked up to an IV drinking tar

Texting a lie to friends so they wouldn't worry, there is no way I would have missed that dinner

 How embarrassing, yet necessary to be questioned by the psychiatrist privately

How interesting to question myself, would I do this again?!

It took years to share with anyone, I wanted to forget it all

How could I think I needed to cut my life short?

For him? For her? For what?

At the time I had a 3 year old and 6 month old twins

I didn’t love myself

I never explored that part of myself

I didn’t know how dope I was

I attached my worth to another

Young and dumb

That sh*t is real tho

Goddess Glow

That glow hit different when you love yourself

The more I loved myself

The more I understood my worth 

The more I chose me

The more I didn’t settle for anything that didn’t sit right with my spirit

The more I knew myself

Skin cleared up

The sunbeams follow my skin

I feel the Suns literal touch and it matches my fly

I imagine at this point i’m too deep into this Goddess Glow

The UNIVERSE knows it 

The UNIVERSE smiles with me

The UNIVERSE reveals the beauty I feel within, visually to me

Constant reminders

The day I left what no longer served me, with gratitude and love

The day I deaded those experiences

The UNIVERSE expanded

Night Sky in December

Tonight the stars made me think of you

I seen so many stars tonight

Arguably the most I might have ever seen or noticed at night, mmh, maybe in Yosemite when I was a child

Never before has my heart been more open
