a teaser for my upcoming Lex Luthor mafia!au long-form fic ..
"a journalistic term for a mafia murder done in such a way that the victim's body is never discovered ..."
pairing: Lex Luthor x fem!reader
genres: mystery, romance, thriller
this fic will likely contain some explicit / violent content. official warnings will exist before each post.
the year is 1943.
you've recently been hired as a reporter at the Daily Planet; Metropolis' most reliable paper throughout the turbulence of the last decade. you’re desperate to prove yourself in this cut-throat environment, so when you're assigned a lead even the most experienced reporters have turned down, you don't think twice before accepting.
what begins as an inquiry on an unsolved missing persons case turns into something much, much larger, with everything leading back to one man, one name.
Lex Luthor, CEO of the most influential company in America, direct arms dealer to the U.S. military. you're in far too deep when you realize you are entirely in over your head.
worse still, while you assume he’s being sloppy in his methods at deception and cover ups, he’s just getting you right where he wants you.
STARRING:
Lex Luthor as the CEO of the Luthor Corporation and the recent heir to his father's underground business.
Clark Kent as an undercover cop working closely with the Daily Planet.
Lois Lane as a seasoned reporter, born for investigative journalism.
Jimmy Olsen as the Planet's most reliable photographer with a knack for snapping moments better left unseen.

lex luthor x fem!reader
summary: one of the more unsavory parts of being a billionaire is the public appearances. Lex handles himself well, and you’ve learned the ropes — but that doesn’t mean things can’t get a little tense ..
wc: 1.8k
warnings: men being creeps (what’s new), some making out, implied sexual content !!
a/n: i imagine this will be the final installment to my trilogy of non-requested lex fics. if you’re interested in the others, my first is linked here and my second here. ty all for your love <3
the shutters of the cameras clicked, flashes flickering like dying stars. bodies surrounded you, packed so close you could feel your chest grow tight with claustrophobia. Lex’s hand remained confident on your lower back, extending a powerful arm to clear a path, his men shielding you from insistent reporters who shouted their questions over one another until the sound became an aching drone deep in your skull.
you hated the neverending galas. Lex’s attendance was mandatory – for his image, the PR team explained – which meant you got to be arm candy for the night. while entertaining wasted businessmen wasn’t your favorite, your true reason for detesting these events were the moments like this. when you were pushed and pulled, expression torn between polite smiles and frustrated grimaces, words of admiration thrown your way from faces you’d never even seen before.
you were grateful for Lex’s presence during these times, his steadying hold and reassuring words. he wasn’t warm, but he was familiar, and that was enough.
the moment you stepped through the wide doors of the museum reserved for the night you finally released the breath that had been sitting stagnant and aching in your lungs, shoulders slumping beneath the designer dress Lex had chosen for you that night. his hand snaked to your waist, eyes searching your own, lips parting in a silent question. he mouthed it then, “are you okay?” an unexpected moment of tenderness.
you nodded once, correcting your posture and sucking in a breath as one of Lex’s biggest investors began his approach with his wife; wide, plastic grins tugging intensely on both of their faces.
“Mr. Luthor! just the man i’ve been looking for,” he exclaimed, approaching with outstretched arms, a gesture Lex stiffly returned with a handshake.
“Mr. Dallas, to what do i owe the pleasure,” Lex grumbled, voice taut, but Dallas’ attention had already turned to you.
“and the lovely girlfriend – good god, you truly are a sight for sore eyes,” he sighed, taking your hand in his own and placing a lingering kiss at your knuckles. you forced a smile in return. you could feel Lex’s hold on you subtly tighten, though his expression remained secrete.
the investor opened his mouth as if he were ready to keep blabbering, but his wife murmured something in his ear, his words dying on his tongue. whatever she’d said prompted a swift goodbye as he offered you both a final broad smile, hurriedly moving on to the next socialite he needed to greet. you should’ve been relieved, but you were well aware that the night was still young.
Dallas would be the first of many to metaphorically suck Lex’s dick that night.
this meant many more tipsy men struggling to decipher the difference between complimenting Lex’s woman and unabashedly hitting on her. with every accolade or cheek kiss or lingering appreciative gaze sent your way, Lex’s hand on your waist grew firmer. his gaze sharper. his words more clipped.
as the drinks flowed more heavily and the band picked up to a livelier tune, Lex finally managed to excuse him and yourself and find a more private corner of the vast venue.
“how are you holding up?” he asked, voice gentler over the contending band, that cold edge it usually held hidden amidst the noise. he let you lean back against a nearby intricately designed pillar, positioning his body so he could shield you from any prying eyes, his back facing the party.
you offer him a small smile as he reaches a thumb to swipe a bit of lipstick at the corner of your mouth that had gotten smudged sometime during the night.
“not too bad. i’ve found tonight to be rather tame compared to some men we’ve dealt with in the past.”
Lex winced, brows pinching just slightly at the memory of the man who had come with a pitch to his office. Lex had been generous, offering up his very expensive time to hear him out. the meeting just ended with the presenter giving you, who had been in Lex’s office at the time, unwanted attention and tossing around sleazy comments like you weren’t Lex Luthor’s girlfriend. when his allotted time was up, Lex stated firmly he wasn’t interested, and later that night, ordered that he disappear.
no one would miss him, anyway.
“i’ll shut them up for you if you’d like. all you have to do is say the word.”
your heart fluttered at that, a small hand raising to run carefully along his jaw, fingertips skipping at the prickle of a recent shave. “i know,” you murmured softly, all too aware of the lengths Lex would go.
you wouldn’t consider Lex a jealous man. after one too many glasses of that expensive liquor, maybe; but typically, he wasn’t. many would be shocked by this, with his history of obsession, but you knew how his affections for you truly revealed themselves. in the hand at the small of your back, the words of ownership. he was possessive, and expertly so. Lex didn't like wasting time. so why linger in jealousy with a woman he knew couldn’t even dream of being unfaithful?
“..you’ll raise brows being away so long,” you hummed finally, shattering the glass bubble of calm you two had created for yourselves.
Lex just nodded, took your arm, and started back towards the crowd.
you suffered through two more hours of this dance before the band finally began to die down and Metropolis’ now wasted elite filed out the wide doors into the cool night, reporters and cameras waiting expectantly.
you both held back for a long while, waiting for Lex’s men to accompany you to the idling car and for the crowd to thin.
you were sure you’d been waiting there on his arm for at least half an hour before one of his men gave the all clear and you started out the doors. your senses were immediately swamped, eyes adjusting to the flashing cameras, ears straining to make out anything significant over the yelling of reporters. you’d hardly even noticed Lex agreeing to a single photo before you were being pulled in another direction, towards a designated area for pictures.
you tried desperately to distinguish voices as you fixed your posture, quickly checking your hair with a hand as Lex moved in close to your side. the photographers busied themselves with getting into position.
you’re smiling towards the cameras, hand gently holding Lex’s which had found purchase on your hip when you felt familiar lithe fingers at your shoulder. you glanced down, watching as Lex fixed your dress’ strap with a free hand. it had (unbeknownst to you) begun to slip, a minute thing that only Lex ever seemed to notice. he gave you a tender sort of look before that cool expression reappeared as he faced the cameras once more.
the photographers are begging for just one more picture, reporters yelling for a single question as Lex’s men stepped in, shielded you both from them with their bodies, a few guiding you towards the car.
the driver stood expectantly with the door open, Lex helping you in with a careful hand, letting you slide over before he entered himself. finally, the door was shut with a thump.
only then did you feel like you could breathe.
you relaxed into the expensive leather of the seats, eyes fluttering shut. you could attend a million more events just like this one and you were sure you’d still never grow completely used to the frenzy.
as the driver slipped into the front seat and started the car Lex reached to pull the privacy window shut, leaning back and watching you with a calculating gaze.
his hand found yours, fingers intertwining with your own. “you did great tonight, darling.”
“i’m sorry these events can be so… stressful for you. believe me, if i could eliminate the paparazzi and unmannered men from these things, i would.”
you gave him a small, sweet smile then, one that sent a wave of comfortable warmth throughout Lex’s body. “..i know.”
he saw you then, as the woman just as obsessed with him as he was with her. saw how you genuinely entrusted him with your whole being. he felt that familiar ache in his chest he tended to experience when considering your admirations, giving your hand a small squeeze.
“i adore you. you know that, don’t you?” he murmured suddenly, his expression uncharacteristically gentle.
you simply nodded, assisting in closing the distance as he leaned in to place a tender kiss at your lips.
his free hand moved up to your throat, burying itself in the hairs at the back of your head, fingertips pressing lightly against your scalp. you subconsciously slid closer, lips parting against his.
his actions were reminiscent of that first night you’d met, when he’d looked at you — really looked — and determined instantly that he’d never be capable of settling for anyone else. when he’d kissed you in the backseat, just as he was now. when he’d laid you upon his plush mattress that night, mouth worshipping every inch of you and then some. he’d told you, at the height of your pleasure, that he would marry you. he spoke the words with such reverence that, in that moment, you’d believed him.
the next morning when you’d slipped out of the penthouse, you played it off as something quick. that you were another trophy on Lex’s extensive shelf.
you’d soon come to find that you were completely wrong.
he was torn from his tender thoughts as your hand slipped out of his, trailing his chest until both rested on his shoulders.
Lex only ever allowed himself indulgence in moments like this. when the kisses lingered, hands roamed as if you were both discovering each other all over again. he savored the feeling of your lips on his, the taste of your lipgloss, letting the familiarity ground him after the hectic night. a steady reminder that, despite the superficiality of this life he lived, there was you.
he broke then for breath, his reluctance evident in the slight furrow of his brow, the way his hands moved to cup your face with a softness previously unheard of from the man.
“you know i hate how they look at you like you’re anything less than mine.”
you nodded once more.
“and you know that once we’re back in the penthouse i will spend the whole night reminding you of that fact.”
a smile teased your lips, another nod.
he left a final kiss at your temple, his hand smoothing out your hair from where he’d mussed it.
that night he kept his promise. and eventually (you knew this to be true), he’d keep every single other vow he’d ever made you. because to him, this was worth it.
you were worth it.

lex luthor x fem!reader
summary: it doesn't take long for a bored girlfriend to devolve into a needy one. then for the needy one to grow completely attention starved. the pipeline is real and, unfortunately(?), Lex must deal with it. or rather, deal with her.
wc: 1.4k
a/n: fic is (loosely) inspired by this request !! glad people were interested in more of this dynamic because it was so much fun to write! requests remain open so keep them coming !!
Lex should’ve been furious when the heavy doors to his office swung open without warning. partially because no one had been buzzed in, mostly because he was in the middle of a particularly important discussion with one of his head bioengineers – a man whom he had working on Ultraman.
his head snapped towards the sound, lips parting as venom built up on his tongue, only for it to die just as quickly. his frustration dissipated – scarcely – when he heard the familiar clicking of expensive heels, the ones he’d spent a pretty penny on during a recent trip to Paris. when he caught sight of the brooding expression he’d abandoned earlier this morning.
you walked in with all the confidence of a woman with the most influential man in the country as a boyfriend, bag clutched in a hand, a pretty designer outfit embracing your figure. the scientist stopped mid sentence, eyes tracking as you walked in before his gaze quickly snapped to his hands resting stiffly in his lap.
you didn’t say a single word to either man as you plucked one of the many magazines Lex left in his office for you from a nearby stand, letting yourself fall back against the sofa on the far end of the room with a content sigh. you kicked your legs up on the glass-top table before you, your petulant expression fading only slightly as you feigned engrossment towards the issue’s contents.
Lex wasn’t surprised by your sudden visit. you’d been whining nearly all morning about his need to be in the office, your pretty face twisted in a pout that was supposed to make him feel bad. it did, if only slightly.
“but Lex,” you’d huffed, arms crossed as you sat upright on the large mattress, silk sheets pooling at your waist, “you’re my boyfriend. it’s your job to be here with me.”
“i am,” Lex agreed, straightening the cuffs of his shirt in the full length mirror, “but i’m a businessman first.”
you seemed to realize after his words that there was no sentence in the world that could convince him to come back to bed. you’d tried to keep yourself busy after his departure, you really had — dolled yourself up, watched some shitty melodrama, played with the cat… but despite it all, the need lingered in the back of your mind like some dull ache.
so, you’d called one of Lex’s personal cars, stepped out with the help of the driver once you’d arrived at his building, and took the elevator to his floor. he really did make this too easy for you.
Lex’s gaze was unwavering from his employee now, treating your presence as if you were just another piece of furniture in the room. “ignore her. continue.” he ordered with a stiff nod, voice firm and unnegotiable.
the bioengineer looked up, mouth opening and closing a few times before he pushed up his glasses and forced out the words that kept dying on his tongue. “..sir, i don’t mean to overstep, but you were just reminding me of the classified nature of this project—“
“—i said ignore her. cant you understand a simple command?”
“..right, of course, sir.”
“so speak. i don’t like to repeat myself, but you just seem to like to hear me talk.”
you watched the discourse with a strange sort of fascination from over the pages of the issue of Vogue you’d chosen to peruse. you couldn’t deny the way your heart did a little flutter in your chest at the scrutiny in his voice, at the way the bioengineer bent to Lex’s every will and whim, scrambling to please him.
the scientist started up again then, his tone timid, voice shaky. his eyes flickered to you often, as if your presence alone perturbed him more than the fact he was currently only a desk apart from the most dangerous man on the planet. “..well, as i was saying, we suspect the unpredictabilities are due to an error in the code. um, ahem – i assure you, uh, sir, we have our best men working to find and solve the issue.”
you could sense the man’s apprehension like it was something tangible, your teeth tugging at your lower lip at the realization that Lex was doing this to him. that the fear of repercussion was so intense he could barely form a sentence. you languidly tossed the magazine back onto the coffee table, leaning back against the sofa. a leg smoothly crossed over the other, manicured nails tapping slowly at the leather armrest.
“and the clone’s vision,” Lex prompted, sharp eyes studying his employee from over the mug he was currently sipping from – the action reminiscent of the way a hawk may watch a mouse. all the while, though, he was acutely aware of your behavior just a few meters away.
“we’re already on it,” the bioengineer promised, giving a curt sort of nod. the sound of your nails echoed through the room.
Lex’s gaze flickered to you then, slow, testing, a single look probing you more than any words could. an arched brow, a silent question.
“..right. well, i expect results soon,” Lex turned his attention back to his employee, if only momentarily.
“soon,” he repeated, eyes narrowed.
the man across him most certainly understood the underlying threat as he scrambled to gather his things and shakily rose to his feet. clearly grateful for the escape, the scientist mumbled a hurried “thank you,” pausing as he reached out a hand for a brief shake, “..for, uh, your time, Mr. Luthor.”
Lex didn’t return the gesture.
you’d never seen someone leave a room faster.
Lex set down his mug after the doors shut with a heavy thud, rising from his own luxurious seat. his blue eyes were fixed firmly on you as you uncrossed your legs, straightening out the bodycon skirt you’d chosen for the day.
there was a danger to his movements then, a predatory grace you knew only he possessed. he rounded his mahogany desk, shoes sounding sharp against the tiled floors. “bored, i take it?” the words read like more of a statement than a question, his voice low, like velvet over steel.
you didn’t answer, instead deciding to simply watch as he reached you in a few easy strides, a hand bracing against the back of the sofa as he leaned close enough for you to feel his breath against your skin.
“you better lower your expectations if you anticipate me being here for any other reason,” you scoffed in return finally, meeting his cool gaze. you could feel the hum of power radiating off him, the thrill that dismantling his employee brought him buzzing lowly beneath his skin.
“don’t lie,” he snapped quickly, nearly cutting you off entirely, “you like watching them squirm.”
you hesitated before shrugging, not wanting to give him the satisfaction of a fueled ego. “isn’t it enough for me to just miss you? you make it sound like i’m some sort of sadistic mess.”
Lex smirked, dipping to place a deft kiss upon the subtle curve of your cheekbone.
“unfortunately, i know you too well to play that off as anything but at least the partial truth,” he murmured, using his free hand to tuck a stray hair behind your ear before standing upright once more, “in any case, i’m glad you enjoyed the show.”
your brows creased, lips parting to protest before he raised a silencing finger. “your face gave you away. maybe try shutting those pretty eyes next time – gateway to the soul, they say.”
not much was accomplished that day. Lex handed you several folded bills, held crisp by a silver clip not so discreetly displaying his company name, and shooed you out of his office. but, despite his presumed apathy, he slowly began to fill the office with more magazines. a rack filled with more comfortable (yet still expensive) shoes for when your heels began to bother you. plush pillows on the leather sofa, courtesy of your consistent complaints towards its stiff surface.
and when he finally climbed into bed that night, you knew he couldn’t help but care – in the way he wrapped his arms so carefully, reverently, around you, a silent apology in his gentle kiss to your temple.

lex luthor x fem!reader
summary: Lex has been busy in the office recently and has neglected his attention hungry girlfriend — maybe a getaway to Paris is just what they both need
wc: 1.5k
a/n: after perusing this tag i've become aware of a rather significant detail : there are not NEARLY enough fics where the reader is just as crazy (if not crazier..) than lex!! so i have come to the rescue ( •̀ ᴗ •́ )
you were never quite sure how you landed in Lex Luthor’s good graces. you were also never one to question a good thing.
life with the billionaire was unanticipatedly pleasant. well, as pleasant as a relationship with an infamously calloused, comic-worthy villain of a man could be, you supposed. there were the rough patches after the honeymoon phase, of course – every couple had them. most just didn’t include the constant underlying threat of being locked away in some other-worldly prison. he obviously never suggested this out loud, but you could certainly see the barely concealed warning in his cold eyes.
the thing was, you knew your boyfriend was crazy. you might’ve been good at acting it, but you weren’t dense enough to breeze past the glaring red flags. what made you such a wonderful match for the man, though, is that you loved him all the more for it. maybe it was the thrill, the obsession that rolled off him in waves, or perhaps your own deep-seated issues. in any case, loving him was fun.
you pushed Lex’s buttons, to put it simply. and, to Metropolis’ surprise, Lex let you get away with it. from interrupting important meetings because of a broken nail to bringing the cat Lex had begrudgingly purchased you into his damn office (“Madonna” sparkled on her gold encrusted tag), you somehow remained particularly skilled in eluding the man’s wrath.
it wasn’t like Lex didn’t not find you infuriating. in fact, he was sure you were one of the most aggravating women he’d ever met. the truth of the matter, though, lied in the way his chest tightened in affection when he watched you doll yourself up for a dinner, in your slow stretches beneath his silk sheets as the first rays of sunlight warmed your sleepy features.
Lex Luthor had been called many things in his life. a narcissist, an egotistical maniac – never a pushover. yet that was precisely what he seemed to devolve into when it came to you. so when you approached him one starlit evening, doe eyes wet under heavy lashes, your pretty lips turned into a pout, whining about a recent lack of attention, he made a call.
which is how he found himself now: across an ocean, half-empty champagne flute in hand, elbow resting casually against the railing on a balcony of a luxury hotel. his head dipped languidly, blue eyes sparkling in the warm Parisian lights, observing the tourists scamper to and fro like ants from his sixth story perch. the Eiffel Tower twinkled commandingly not even a block away.
while this getaway was mostly to satiate your attention-hungry self, Lex knew it would be good for him as well – a much needed respite from the constant pressure that was being a billionaire CEO.
he was considering the potential for the improved performance this time off may provide him upon his return to Metropolis when he heard the soft click of the balcony door. he didn’t need to turn to know it was you – he’d grown familiar to the gentle padding of your bare feet, the feel of your arms encircling his waist. his free hand found yours as you went up on your toes to plant a small kiss to the nape of his neck.
“..how’s my evil supergenius? you’ve been out here on your own for, like, the past hour,” you smiled tiredly up at the man as he turned in your hold to face you properly.
he loved when you were like this, all soft and pliable. when your affections towards him remained seemingly infinite — whether he was fully deserving of them or not. moments where you treated him not like the man he was, but the man he was to you.
“i’ve been waiting for you to come to bed. been keeping it warm for you and everything.” Lex, after a brief assessment of your current state, had already come to this conclusion. your hair was mussed from lounging, your figure wrapped in a silk robe. his, actually – his looping initials displayed proudly in gold across the back.
Lex let out a small huff that could’ve been mistaken for laughter, the ghost of a smile gracing his pale lips. “sorry, love. just been thinking.”
you snickered at that, hands moving from their position on his middle to rest easy on his shoulders. “seems like a dangerous pastime for a man like you to have,” you mused, earning an eye roll from him.
there were many things Lex admired about you. in this moment specifically, your unrelenting teasing. most would’ve found it irritating — he indeed had his fair share in moments of frustration due to it — yet he still found it oddly refreshing. no one had ever questioned him. tried him. toyed with him the way you did.
your fingers rubbed small circles absently against the fabric of his button up, moon-eyed as you watched him through your lashes.
“..well, why not give that big brain of yours a rest?” with slow steps you began leading him backwards, reentering the room. Lex smirked, smoothly setting his glass down on the nearest table as he trailed without resistance.
he would’ve let you drag him all the way to bed if not for a certain feline (whom you had begged to bring with) stretched out selfishly across his pillow. his expression grew taut with frustration then as you quickly abandoned him in favor of the cat, scooping her in your arms while tenderly scolding her.
“Madonna, you are so naughty!” you gasped with no real heat, scratching at her chin affectionately as she meowed her defense. “that’s your dad’s side of the bed and you know that, silly girl,” your words fell from your lips in a gentle coo, placing her back on the floor.
she rubbed against your legs once before offering Lex a passing glance, lifting her tail, and trotting off to find some other napping spot. Lex scowled back, muttering a curse too whispered for you to pick up while swiping any lingering cat hair off his pillow with a stiff hand. he should’ve never gotten you that damn cat. he didn’t even like cats.
he remembered how you’d approached him that night, then — a dejected sort of look twisting your pretty face. you were lonely in the penthouse, you’d explained, the solitude during Lex’s working hours leaving you unattended and feeling unloved. when you’d insisted a cat was the only way to quell these bleak emotions, Lex didn’t even think twice. he’d grown to wish he had.
once the sheets were free of any lingering fur, Lex let himself fall against the mattress, breathing out a long sigh as he sank into its expensive plush. he extended a beckoning hand to you, his other working at his shirt, deft fingers undoing each button with a practiced ease. you climbed in beside him, your body fitting into place with his own.
the room was still for a moment before you spoke, glancing up at the man with a bemused sort of expression. “she must like you, you know. if she’d lay on your side rather than mine. it’s some kind of scent thing – i read it somewhere once.”
Lex just hummed in response, the sound low and rumbling as his arm looped comfortably around your shoulders, a large hand pulling your head in so it rested on his exposed chest. he let his eyes close, let your warmth and weight dissipate any lingering tension.
“..makes me a little jealous, you know. that my cat prefers someone else over me. but she’s just a daddy’s girl, i guess, and i can’t hold that against her,” you went on, fingers toying with his now open shirt.
Lex just scoffed, imagining your crestfallen expression behind his eyelids. “don’t worry about imaginary affections. i’m sure the loathing is mutual between that beast and i.”
your brows furrowed at that. “oh, shush. i know deep down you’ve got some kind of soft spot for her. you wouldn't have let her stick around this long otherwise.” you seemed ready to blabber on, but Lex had grown tired, which meant it was time for you to be, too.
in a slow sort of movement Lex lifted the hand which had been cradling your head, shifting it to gently cover your lips instead. “..quiet, now.”
it always felt like a push and pull between you both, Lex never quite sure when you’d actually conform to his wishes. much to his pleasure, though, you finally stilled and gave a small nod against his palm.
“good.” he dipped his head, placing a chaste kiss to your temple, before letting himself fall back against the pillow once more.
you might’ve been a pain. and you might’ve been bordering on insanity for testing him as much as you did – whether it was a conscious effort or not. but you loved him, and he managed to tolerate you. and in the warm glow of distant Parisian lights, a bratty cat purring at your feet, you both found contentment.

phew !! this one took a second, but i’m really happy with the outcome. originally i planned for this to be stand-alone but it might be fun to make another part … lmk if y’all would be interested !!

hi all !! requests are open !!
⋅•⋅∘ ☆
that being said, i do have some rules to keep the requests fun and interesting for me
i will NOT under any circumstances write any dead dove : do not eat content. not my thing at all, so please don’t request.
i’ll only be taking requests for characters/shows/movies/games i’m currently interested in (seems like a given but you never know). list of things i’ll write for will be at the bottom of this post !!
please give me at least a little bit to work with in the requests. for example: “write fluff for ____” doesn't help me very much :,)
i will write smut but there’s a high chance i’ll pick and choose what i’m comfortable with — writing that stuff really depends on my mood.
⋅•⋅∘ ☆
what i’ll write for atm :
Superman 2025
Team Fortress 2 (best at writing for Scout but will try my hand at other characters if requested !!)
Fantastic Four : First Steps (best at writing for Johnny but will also try others !!)

lex luthor x fem!reader
a/n: first post so apologies for any clunkiness!!
being the girlfriend of Lex Luthor has its ups and downs.
Lex Luthor, who could be so caring one moment and so cold the next — you’re honestly shocked you haven’t gotten whiplash from this man.
Lex Luthor who has you sit waiting, pretty and still and quiet while he shops for you. when he finally returns, the luxury store of his choice’s employee scurrying after him with dresses piled high in their arms, he has you model every single one. the process may be painstaking, but when it's his credit card involved rather than your own, you really have no right to refuse.
Lex Luthor who requests his favorite of the recent purchases for that night’s gala, admiring your reflection as you touch up your makeup and straighten your dress in the mirror. in the limo on the way there, his hand heavy and permanent on your knee, he reminds you that tonight you will be arm candy. tonight you will be agreeable. tonight you will smile and nod.
Lex Luthor who praises your performance after; not with anything grand, just a quiet “you handled yourself well” before his attention turns elsewhere once more. his words ran circles in your head for a solid week after that, your whole being left hungry for more of that kind of recognition. you’d learned to be satiated with starvation.
Lex Luthor who then practically neglects you until it's time for the next appearance. he cites meetings, setbacks in Ultraman’s code, a sudden influx of potential investors – you just smile easy and sweet, the compliant one Lex loved to see. you’ll just have the penthouse all to yourself for a while, you supposed.
Lex Luthor who gives just enough to make you stay, keeps enough to leave you forever craving more.
