Description: Axl is giving birth to Slash’s child. He’s annoyed how long it’s taking.

Axl was in absolute agony. He’d been in labor for the past 12 hours. 12 hours of constant pain ravaging his body. It started off slow. The contractions weren’t as painful. He was able to laugh, joke, and walk. Now, he could barely get out a single word without being interrupted by a pain. Why must the process of having a baby be so painful?

The doctor came in at hour 13 to check his dilation. He was on all fours, a position that did a lot to soothe the pain. Slash helped him back on his back. Axl carefully put his legs in the stirrups. The doctor proceeded to examine him.

“9 centimeters. Almost there. Within the next hour, you’d be fully dilated,” the doctor announced.

Axl slammed his hand on the bed in frustration. Both the doctor and Slash jumped at his reaction. Axl burst out in tears, overwhelmed.

“I’m fucking tired of this-oh my god, ah!” Axl expressed, getting interrupted by another strong contraction.

“Breathe, Axl, breathe.” Slash reached out his hand. “Hold my hand if you have to.”

Axl managed to get out some ragged breaths. He gripped Slash’s hand. Their hands turned red as his grip tightened when the contraction reached its peak. Slash bit his lip, trying to disguise the pain Axl had his hand in.

As the doctor had said, by the next hour, he was ready to push. They had removed his hospital gown completely. The doctor nodded, signaling that he was ready for him to start pushing.

It came naturally. Nobody had to tell him what to do or how to do it. His body gave him the instinct and he listened to it. He took in a deep breath and pushed, not letting the breath go until that push was over. There was a shift inside. The baby slightly moved down towards the exit.

“That was a good one. More like that and the baby’ll be here,” the doctor said.

“Shut the fuck up!” Axl demanded, going into another push.

With this push, he continued even after the contraction had stopped. The baby lowered even more. He could feel the head began stretching him. Slash brushed his hair, whispering encouraging words to him.

“Fuck!” Axl cursed.

There was a small release, but the baby wasn’t out yet.

“The head’s out. You’re crowning.” The doctor set up his hand to catch the baby.

Axl pushed and pushed and pushed. Each push sending the baby lower. He threw his bad for the last, final, agonizing push. He couldn’t help but scream bloody murder. The baby slipped out into the doctor’s hand. A loud shriek filled the room. The baby, his son, was placed on his chest. It was over. He had given birth.

“Slash, we have a son.” Axl looked up at his husband.

“Yes, we do.” Slash kissed his lips. “God, I love you so much.”

Axl looked back down at the newborn. “Hey there, Santana Hudson,” Axl greeted, revealing the baby’s name.”

“No middle name?” Slash questioned.

“No, just like his father…and because I couldn’t think of one that fits.” Axl chuckled.
