As someone on the aroace spec i went back to look at gwenpool's comics about it and i noticed that a lot of people over here and on twitter treat her as a strict aroace, but actually it read(to me at least please someone correct me) as her being asexual and in the aro spec but not strict aromantic? Did i read it wrong? Of course she IS aro but feels like a lot of people try to put her in a strict box when gwen herself admits she's on the spectrum in that regard and can feel it even if not the same as others

Context wise, when u think about it, when you squint really hard really... Gwenpool's death and references around it make Kate Bishop the Matt Murdock/Peter Parker to her Elektra/Gwen Stacy. Now hear me out that's how we get Kate finding out she's sapphic and also queerplatonic hawkpool, in this essay i will-

These aren’t the same thing at all and I’m tired of people pretending it is.

Kamala was barely a side character in a book that wasn’t her own and used to push towards synergy.

Gwen’s “death” happens in her own book due with the whole meta conflict being her getting “replaced”

The only common factor is that Peter Parker is in the vicinity and in the other one he’s literally unconscious during. And it being a parallel to Stacy’s death (despite having no-universe connection, Gwenpool is still undoubtedly connected to Gwen Stacy due to the nature of how she came into existence) by having the death being a total accident. Even then I don’t this solely being used for Peter Parker Man Pain™️ especially since the next issue will be focusing on Kate’s POV (who has much more of a presence in Gwen’s actual death btw)

This discourse is just frustrating to me because it’s seemingly only being brought up to try to hate on the Spider-office as a monolith even tho the only connection it has to said office is that the Venom editor is editing that’s just because Jordan White has been one of Gwenpool’s longest editors.

So all in all…it’s fine if you don’t like it. But comparing it to Kamala Khan’s death is just plain wrong. And no, this issue happening during Pride Month is not some awful unforgivable hate crime. They’re written months in advance. Calm down.
