Secret of Whispering Waves : summary part II. Part I here

Last the party left off is exploring the guest house after one of the maid's has not been seen for the entire day, and with some rolls having determined that she has not left the premises and left the room on her own. Finding nothing, the group in tow with Lady Karina and the maids, have conducted a séance, to ask spirits where she may have gone.

The spirit to have answered is the maid herself, confirming that she is dead. The party had 5 questions to ask, where it was determined that she is deeply afraid of whatever "took" her.

After the questions were exhausted the room became incredibly cold and dark, with all the lights snuffed out as loud scribbling could be heard. When the noises subsided, and one of the maids had lit a candle, it was revealed that the word "CATACOMBS" has been written on the walls in blood, over and over again.

Lady Karina forbid anyone to stay or enter the guest house, and everyone was transferred to the main manor, no one to be alone at night at any cost. At night party members were beseeched with strange dreams.

In the morning, Lady Karina informs the party that she has contacted the local Bishop, Father Abraham to come and bless the building. The party decides to pay him a visit first to introduce themselves, and possibly assist.

When approaching the church, the party had spotted a black goat. It tilted it's head curiously.

In the church the party met Father Abraham, a stern and serious man who while disapproving of vampirism, does not feel it is appropriate to punish a woman for the sins of her partner. She had no choice in the matter, and as long as she remains with her faculties in tact, he will support her, as Lathander would want. He provides more information on missing individuals, including children, and for more information points towards the Father of the sponsored orphanage, Morningglow Orphanage.

Heading there next, party met Father Volk. An imposing in figure man (6"7 ft!!) but with a calm and gentle face and voice. He and a sister inform them of the last disappearance being a young boy who was sick for several weeks with a flu that was seemingly incurable, and had nightmares of demon sitting on his bed (sleep paralysis). His bed however revealed no traces of fiendish energy...but some necrotic...perhaps the little boy is sticking around?

While there, children pull Raha away to play, and Blythe decides to do some investigations on her own, to his dismay. Though before leaving, our new member, Kirim, becomes introduced to the actual relationship dynamics going on. Shockingly, he thought Raha was just the party bicycle.

While Raha entertains kids, and Blythe investigates - Kirim, Arameia and Eirwen have lunch with Father Volk. His lunch consisted of "scraps" though they agreed to join him regardless.

In the evening, while investigating for the missing Bard and finding nothing besides some fur, we encounter a new character! A fine dressed man with a head that of a goat skull, his eyes piercing embers. He introduces himself as Ser Myvpar, and a "devil". He seems to be much more knowledgeable about the happenings that are transpiring than one would anticipate. He also...offers the party to make a deal, to cure their maladies - be it Arameias lycanthropy, Eirwen's memory loss, Kirims cursed item, and Raha's fell brambles.

Blythe is left out because of Theta - who is content on the matter.

He leaves them with a bell, should they ever wish to summon him.

Small random encounter that is completely unremarkable except after rolling a nat 1 - Arameia knocks herself on the fucking floor, and then rolled another nat 1 to recover her fall. So she just missed her swing, busted ass and then got hit by every single rat.

After getting more rumors from the local people at the pub regarding some strange happenings around the cemetery having possible animal problems and teenagers sneaking into locked catacombs which are no longer structurally sound & learn that uniquely to other nobility, the Von Berdusk family does not have their own private on ground burial grounds, and uses the towns. The party then decides to retire back to the manor.

In the comfort of their rooms, Raha realizes that his curse is spreading...

and lighter note, had some questions how on earth Kirim thought he was having relations with 4 different women

and then finally party went to bed, to have more restless dreams...

Ahhhh, happy birthday Blythe!! In honor of her birthday, I have a few questions for you and her:

Is her "birthday" the day you created her / first played her, the day she was born in-universe, or are the two one and the same? (My dnd boy Rook, who I'm obsessed with, his birthday in-universe is also the date I first played him irl and tbh I can't even remember it it was intentional or not.)

How does Blythe want to celebrate her birthday? How is she more likely to actually end up spending it?

How does she feel about birthdays, especially her own?

What are Raha and Lorelai giving her for her birthday? Are they throwing her a party? If so, who's invited? Is it a surprise party?

On that note, how does Blythe feel about surprises? Does she take them well, or does she prefer to know things ahead of time, even if they're pleasant things.

What is the best gift she's ever received? (birthday or not) What about the worst?

Okay, that's enough spam questions for you! But wishing her the best birthday ever!!

It's the first time I've ever posted about her because I do not have the original file creation anymore so! It's the closest thing I have

She is doing absolutely nothing and everyone has to be at her beck and call (think Jenna marbles leisure day)

3. She is 183 so she does not care about birthdays. I think Elves in general are super ambivalent to them

4. Raha typically gifts some sort of jewelry (she has a lot and does enjoy mix and matching)...he has not had a miss. That and cooks something she enjoys (though he does that for basically every party member - he's the party dad)

Despite being nobility, Lorelai fled her home without pretty much anything so she typically doesn't gift anything - granted they don't really celebrate in canon LOL. So no parties or anything, it's just an offhand mention since all three are long lived races and after like 100 birthdays you get extremely bored with them

5. She hates surprises and has to be in control of everything at all times. She hates not knowing things. Everything is typically discussed prior

6. I don't know if this qualifies as the "best" gift, but it's one that made the most impact at the time. Blythe isn't really someone used to...simpler attention? If that phrasing makes sense. She's used to getting monetary gifts for birthdays, some quite extravagant, but when traveling with Lorelai & Raha, Raha not only remembered her off handedly mentioning something, but took the time to recreate it without prompt and without any motives (She's very much used to expectation of something in return for gifts) that it kinda made her load for a bit. I feel like you truly start to appreciate home made things as you get older...

Lorelai is a bit of a dweeb and has never smoked in her life and has at most had a couple sips of wine as a human. She's meant to be extremely sheltered due to her father

One new quick I have been rotating in my mind for Daee is that ever since becoming a reborn, he collects a little trinket from every place he visits since he has so little control of what memories remain and what have vanished so it's a physical reminder of a place. He has a whole pouch of just random key chains or little trinkets that serve as a physical reminder of "I was here. This happened. I was here."

He feels that he has missed out on so much in terms of his memories because of how happy moments just slipped past his fingers. He tries his best to make new ones, to meet new people, to make new memories - but it doesn't undo the feeling of disconnect from his own life. The lack of valaslin plays into this as well. He has no tattoo to remind him of his clan/family. He has nothing to remind him of his friends. He has a ring from Dorian but no name or anything to remind him of his face or specific memories. Everything is ephemeral and feels like it happened to a different person. But if there's a spirit inside, who knows, maybe the person in the lost memories and himself are not even the same person. Maybe HE'S the interloper on this life.

That's why it's so important to at least gain some sort of semblance of closure. Is what he remembers himself?

And can he finally let the past go and say goodbye, since everything that remained of that is gone now, whether he IS Daee or the spirit, or a mix of both. To move forward from grief, to find new connections and to find purpose in your life, even when the things you cared about are no longer there. Life moves on, and you should too. It's your lot, you can't undo what happened, so just move forward
