the fact that people are even arguing about this is ridiculous, but my apparently Burning Hot Take is that selfshippers can interact as much or as little with the community as they want. not everyone has the same social battery. some people are just introverted. we're literally all just vibing let's be nice to eachother and hold hands as we frolick through a field ok?

shoutout to selfshippers who depend on their f/o. who can't ship them with others because it hurts to imagine them having another partner.

shoutout to the selfshippers who are touch starved or lonely, who can't bring themself to love anyone like they love their f/o. who rarely ever (or never) crush on others because their love for their f/o is too strong.

shoutout to those who print out pictures of their f/o, have them as their wallpaper, imagine them next to you, draw and write about them. who treat them like an irl partner.

shoutout to selfshippers who don't just like their f/o because they're "your type," or they're attractive. shoutout to the selfshippers who have a deeper connection with them than that.

I just wanted to say that you motivated me to like, I think the words you used was "curate my space"? (I can't really remember, I'm sorry, English is not my first language ;__;)

I have a F/O from a media that's not that much popular, and I tend to find the same person who selfships with my F/O on any social media, Twitter, FB, Tumblr, Instagram... Even YouTube. They're everywhere, and their love for my F/O is so we'll know that people in the fandom even mention them on posts related to my F/O. I tried so hard let it slide and be happy for them, but it was making me quite sad. I tried to suppress my feelings, but at the end of the day I felt like a hypocrite.

So when I saw your posts related to block people to make your space a better, comfy place, I tried it out and felt so much better. I can say a little more openly that I'm not-sharing, and I don't feel ashamed as I used to feel. It sucks, of course, cause I don't like to feel this way, but at the same time it feels nice to see other people like you, who are not-sharing, being so supportive! :)

So what I'm trying to say is... Thank you. Your posts make me feel happy! :D

AAAAAAA anon omg don't worry at all, your english is perfectly fine! this was SUCH a sweet thing to receive, it warms my heart to know I could help you be more open and comfortable with that aspect of yourself! ❤️ there's nothing wrong with being nonsharing - we often get emotionally attached to our f/os as if they were real people as our brains can't emotionally distinguish fiction from reality (the reason we cry from sad movies, for example). it's completely understandable that some of us feel strongly about our boundaries related to sharing. and that's perfectly fine! you're valid, I'm valid, we're all valid!

I'm happy for you! we're in the same boat. some people might pity us but I always find that silly. if we're happy, then what reason is there to give pity? we don't all need to live the same life and that's okay! some of us are happy being a lil weird and I think that's wonderful.

sharing makes me uncomfortable too. I mean like I completely shut down and dissociate and feel like my fo doesn't even belong to me anymore. as if they're someone else's now and this other person is more valid and I lose my identity. its such a HORRIBLE feeling I wish was more understood in the community

absolutely. it sucks a lot... I'm really sorry you have to deal with it, too :( it's luckily gotten a bit better for me now but fuuuuck it still hurts. on bad days it can still make me completely SPIRAL. and I wish it didn't! I don't WANT to be so possessive! and it's really hard to explain to people who are fine sharing what it feels like, blegh.
