I bet that the second the benishigure find out that Koujaku is dating Aoba, they would 100% use that info to fuck with Aoba every chance they can.

They see Aoba on the street, they bow very deeply to show respect, with their expressions so somber and serious that you can tell it went past actual respect and straight into mockery a long time ago- the older members are in on the joke, but the never ones think that they are seriously supposed to treat Aoba like a prince every time they're in the vicinity. When they all go to a bar or something, the benishigure all insist on taking Aoba's bag and jacket, pulling back his chair, pouring him drinks, that sort of thing. They pretty much treat him like a mob wife 😭

Aoba hates it, of course- he doesn't want to draw more attention than necessary to himself or his relationship, and he certainly doesn't need everyone in the gang treating him like some fragile flower who had crawled out of Platinum Jail and got lost.

Koujaku mostly stands on the sidelines and watches- he thinks Aoba looks cute when he's annoyed/pouting, and he knows that Aoba knows it's just dudes being stupid and they all like and respect him. He trusts his men to know how to toe the line between playful ribbing and taking it too far.

okay so I might be missing a lot of context, disclaimer I just finished ep 14 but. I think lance might not have as much of a siscon as much as he THINKS he does.

I haven't watched that much anime with siscon in it much to my luck, but the difference in how lance is towards anna compared to like. teruhashi makoto towards kokomi, yuri briar towards yor in sxf or the tanizakis in bsd (which i feel the latter two are the best examples out of these since makoto is pretty much intended to be satire) is... blatant to say the least.

the thing here is that, from what I gather, lance doesn't really show what one might call actual attraction towards anna as much as he does display concern and admiration for her kindness and similar personality traits. anna is his motivation, anna is the reason behind his aim to be a divine visionary, and of course, this leads to him thinking and acting with anna as the core of everything. he is obsessed with anna but not in the siscon way of "I want to be with her", he is more obsessed with anna in the way of "I need to save her. desperately." which makes it easy for him to possibly mix up feelings.

so far, he hasn't done anything in the line of the typical "she's going to be with me" or anything of the sort, no possessiveness so far, no jealousy, etc, which compared to the other examples is interesting to me

i'm not sure if this is also part of how it works, but I think something else to add to this is the way in which in the japanese dub he has corrected mash calling him a lolicon twice at least that I can remember, immediately correcting him to "siscon"? I dont know how to word it, but in my opinion that could add more to my point he isn't truly attracted to anna

I'm not sure if this was actually intended, but I haven't seen anyone talk about it and I reeeally wanted to share it
