Like, I have had Brandon Sanderson's work recommended to me as a lover of Fantasy, but unfortunately I am comically prejudiced against Mormons and will simply never give his material the time of day.
Call me a prude but if I wanted to read smut I wouldn't have picked up something in the Scifi/Fantasy section! Maybe Romantasy stories should be in the Romance section actually, given the emphasis on the Romance aspect of it, over the Fantasy!
I’ve seen at least one person bring up the Elans as evidence that cloning is normal in the setting
But none of the Elans are clones, their normal people that were paid and/or kidnapped to be modified to resemble the real Elan Ceres to act as his body double/pilot the Pharact. Like, they are very specifically NOT clones.
And even if they were, it clearly wasn’t common knowledge that there was ever more than one Elan until Elan5 spills the beans about it. Maybe, at best, the other corps knew and treated it as an unspoken but open secret.
If anything the Elans existence further proves that cloning ISN’T a regular thing. If it was, why bother pulling in kids off the street? Surely it’d be less messy to just grow them in a lab or something.
It’s still very funny, in a sad way, to me that the whole “Suletta is a clone” plot line didn’t really go anywhere. You really shouldn’t just drop something like that on the audience and not explore it at all.
And then she drops it on earth house and they’re all just blasé about it. And I get the intent behind that, Suletta is her own person with her own right to happiness and thus her origins don’t matter.
But then what are the implications of that for the setting? Are clones normal enough that someone being one doesn’t raise any eyebrows? If they’re not then why didn’t anyone react?? If a close friend of mine confessed they were a clone id at least hit them with the old “that’s rough, buddy.”
AND WHAT WAS THE DEAL WITH OTHER CLONES THAT MADE UP AERIALS BITS??? Like, they view Suletta as being of them and they’re all classified under the same umbrella term of repli-child, were they at some point real children? I would have to assume not, because if they were then Prospera would be irredeemable. So are they fragments of Ericht’s personality? AI programmed to think like Eri in order to assist in manipulating Aerials bits? What happened to them in the finale? Are they dead? Did they merge with Eri?
This is why I say we didn’t get enough episodes, this is a lot of important stuff to leave unexplained and unexplored.
A legendary series that spawned a legendary franchise that still brings joy to fans, new and old, to this day. I hope Gundam continues well into my future and beyond.
I suppose my broader gripe is that we really shouldn't have to speculate like this on stuff that's this important. Like, we shouldn't need to be making educated guesses as to whether the other children were failed clones that needed to be put into Aerial so they could survive or if Prospera was just yeetin' those babies into the data storm for the love of the game.

writing something with two characters who use the same pronouns and fighting to balance using names vs using pronouns in a way that's both smooth to read and easy to comprehend
I really think there’s a conversation to be had about how erotica has subsumed multiple other genres at this point, chief among them being romance. There really is no worse feeling than picking up a book thinking you’re gonna get a love story and instead getting 2 characters with no chemistry raw-dogging each other for 450+ pages.
Like, I should not have to vet books in the fantasy section to make sure something that seemed interesting doesn’t blindside me with 200+ pages of suckin’ and fuckin’.
