Does your voice ever crack on stage?
Obviously, we all try out best to constantly be in good voice and keep our throats and voices healthy but every now again someone has a tired day or they’re getting ill and we’ll crack! Including me! It happens but we try our hardest not to let it! :)

Notes to Thirteen Year Old Girls
When your best friend tells you all she had for breakfast Was a packet of Splenda and a Diet Coke, And she tells you that she’ll stop after she loses five more pounds, Do not believe her. Tell her mother. It does not matter how angry your friend gets. The pain of that will always be preferable to the pain Of seeing your best friend in four years Weighing as much as she does now Half-dead in the hospital.
When your father sneaks into your bed in the dead of the night, And he tells you that this is how fathers love their daughters, Do not believe him. Tell your English teacher. She will have read millions of stories of girls like you. There is a one in six chance that she will be a girl like you. There is a five in six chance that she will know what to say to you. There is a six in six chance that she will help you.
When your veins whisper to you in the moonlight And say that there are so many nightmares inside you That could be free If you would just open your arms, Do not believe them. Tell your school’s guidance counselor, No matter how scared you are Because whispers are liars, And opening your arms will only open the passage For more nightmares to climb in.
And when the therapists say that you are better, Totally better, And you don’t need to worry about the sadness again, Do not believe them. Always be cautious, because sadness has a way Of sneaking up on you When you’re not looking. Be careful. Be careful.

Harry Potter Month- Dumbledore
Albus Percival Wulfric Brian Dumbledore was one of the headmasters of Hogwarts during Harry's time there. He was killed in the Half Blood Prince by Snape, despite Draco having been sent to kill him.
One of the views on Dumbledore is that he was a father figure towards Harry and helped him a lot with the defeat of Voldemort.
However, let’s not forget he didn’t tell Harry of half the things he needed to do or how to find horcruxes or that Harry was actually one which could have helped let’s be honest.
Also, he left Harry in an abusive home. Yes, this was because of the safety and Lily’s charm but surely he could have been left with someone like Remus or a different muggle even that wouldn’t abuse him? In my opinion, there is never a reason to leave a child in an abusive home.
These are some facts about Dumbledore, courtesy of http://archiveofourown.org/works/145980 1. Dumbledore was actually a Ravenclaw in house and blood not a Gryffindor.2. His patronus was a phoenix from the time after he met Fawkes.3. His animagus is a swan.4. In the mirror of Erised, Dumbledore sees himself with a pair of wooly socks. Harry bought him some for christmas in his 6th year.
What do you think about Dumbledore? Is he daft or his he dangerous? ;) or is he neither?

Harry Potter Month- The Dementors
Dementors 'feast' on any happy memories a personpossesses, leaving them in a depressive state. The dementor's kiss is supposed one of the worst possible things that could happen to any human. This is because it leaves you with no soul (because the dementor has consumed it). If your soul has been taken, you still have wakefulness but lack awareness. (Awareness is communication, memory, understanding, 'personality' and more complex thoughts whereas wakefulness is just being able to do basic things such as breathe, cough, swallow and normal reflexes). “You can exist without your soul, you know, as long as your brain and heart are still working. But you’ll have no sense of self anymore, no memory, no . . . anything. There’s no chance at all of recovery. You’ll just — exist. As an empty shell. And your soul is gone forever . . . lost.” ― J.K. Rowling, Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban. The dementors where based on Rowling's experience of depression and hence how she came up with the idea of these creatures. In terms of importance to the series, I would rate the dementors as a 5 because they are needed to remind the audience of the struggles Harry has faced and to compare his trauma with that of other characters. In my opinion, they are a symbol of depression and depression is something many people can relate to. It is very difficult to fight dementors and this relates to the idea that it is very hard to come out of depression. Overall, I think that dementors are an interesting creation that helps to add to the dark feel of the series and are introduced to us in the Prisoner of Azkaban as a warning that dark times are yet to come.

Harry Potter Month- Hagrid
Rubeus Hagrid, keeper of the keys and grounds at Hogwarts is roughly 60 when he first meets Harry in his first year. His birthday is December the 6th. Hagrid, at first glance is seen as a father figure to Harry who has no parents. His kind heart and nuturing ways is like that of a parent. He rescued harry from the Dursleys and on many occasions has been there for him. However, Hagrid has shown to be immature at times and so Harry thinks of Hagrid as more of a friend. Hagrids immaturity has been shown many times throughout the series, for instance: Getting drunk on many occasions, needing support from Harry, Ron and Hermione during Buckbeak's execution, needing Hermione to help take control when Buckbeak injures Malfoy and relying on the trio to help come up with a defense for Buckbeak's 'hearing'. He has troubles keeping secrets (like that of a young child) and this is shown when he gives the trio countless clues that lead to dangerous actions (e.g. Nicolas Flamel, getting past fluffy). Hagrid was always closest with Hermione. I feel this is because when Hermione received negative attention from Draco Malfoy for her blood status, Hagrid was there for her. Hagrid also had blood status troubles of his own (for being half-giant) and so Hagrid was the only person for Hermione that really understood. In terms of importance for the series, I would rate Hagrid as 7 because he is needed for the storyline and is, in my opinion, a symbol of Loyalty (Dumbledore, Harry, Hermione, Ron), Affection (his kindness) and Discrimination (the way people treat him because of his status e.g. Umbridge). Overall, I think Hagrid is a great character that everyone should love (because really, it's hard to find something to dislike about him). Now here are some interesting facts about Hagrid you may not already know: 1.) Hagrid always trusted Snape. 2.) Hagrid was always slightly scared of Dumbledore. 3.) He doesn't know how his father died but he was in the military and so Hagrid suspects he died in war. 4.) He would like to have children if he ever meets the right woman! 5.) He hates his first name because of teasing when he was young.

Harry Potter Month- Professor Snape
Snape has always intrigued me. He’s one of those characters I can’t help but love and hate at the same time. His life-long love for Lily was always something I was jealous of, I will admit. However, the way he treated some of his students, particularly Neville did anger me. The fact that Neville’s boggart was his potions teacher, rather than for example, Voldemort or the people who drove his parents to insanity. Meaning he feared one of his teachers more than the people who mentally damaged his parents. Surely that says something about a person’s character? Also, why did Snape leave the woman's (who he loved) child crying in his cot whilst he walked over James’ corpse? Just to hug the lifeless corpse of a woman who turned him down? Okay, you can argue this was showing his passion but at that point, it wasn’t the time to grieve. It was the time to help the last thing that was left of her: Harry. Despite this, he did often help Harry undercover. For example, the patronus in the woods, when he threw himself in front of the trio and between them and a werewolf, when he stopped Quirrell from killing Harry and also to McGonagall when he knocked out two Death Eaters when Harry came back to Hogwarts so they didn’t hurt her. So yes, he’s done a lot of good things too. This is why I think he is one of the most incredible characters by J.K. Rowling. I also think this makes him important as he is such a controversial character in people’s opinions and his actions (he did join the Death Eaters because Lily turned him down). It’s also his undying love for Lily and the “Always” that gets people (including me). How much he loved this woman from when they were children. It’s adorable. Quick facts: Snape was born on the 9th January 1960 (my birthday other than in 1999 :D ) Snape’s father was abusive and a muggle His patronus is the same as Lily’s. What do you think of Snape? Love him or hate him or stuck on the fence? Let us know :)

Harry Potter Month- The Dursleys
The Dursleys
Mr and Mrs Dursley of number four, Privet Drive were proud to saythat they were perfectly normal, thank you very much. Or were they?
I read a fan theory (I guess) about the Dursleys and how they treated Harry. In it, the person had said that horcruxes messed with your brain and made you act differently and harshly (as shown by Ron and Harry). Well, if the Dursleys were living with Harry for 11 years and Harry was a horcrux then what if Harry was the reason they treated him so badly? Because of the fact he had part of Voldemort inside him?
That to the side, I think the Dursleys are a great creation by J.K. Rowling. They’re not necessarily the most important character, but they represent part of Harry’s past and also show abuse to children in homes and in families. They also show off that there can be favourites between children and how this can lead to abuse.
I also read that the reason Harry was locked in the cupboard was because Petunia didn’t want Dudley to turn out like her. By keeping Dudley away from the magic, he wouldn’t become jealous like she did when she found out that Lily was magic. She also hated Dumbledore because of this, as he took away her sister and made it so she couldn’t follow. (Thanks to JackieLH on fanfiction.net for these- web link: https://www.fanfiction.net/s/5358617/1/20-Random-Facts-about-Petunia-Dursley )
I think that the Dursley’s create the bridge between the muggle and magical world and show how families can be separated because of magic. I also think they are the first characters to show jealousy in childhood and life in general as well as anger (Petunia was angry that Lily had sacrificed herself – not because to save her son but that Petunia would have to deal with the consequences and again not be noticed for it whilst Lily was seen as a martyr).
What do you think of the Dursley’s? Please let us know and request any books/films J

Harry Potter Month- Ron Weasley
Ronald Bilius Weasley was born on March the 1st 1980 and to this day would be 35 years old. Ron is a very lovable character and in my opinion very important. Ron acts as a 'sidekick' for Harry and produces a comedic element) to the series as well as contributing to key moments. I feel he is also a symbol of jealousy (of which he can't control) and this is shown throughout the books:
Ron is constantly living in Harry's shadow throughout the series. Harry excels in many subjects, is adored by many (including teachers ie Dumbledore) and is 'the chosen one'. This causes Ron to be secretly envious of Harry (even though Harry is his best friend and wants harry to be happy). His jealousy of Harry is shown in 'The Goblet of Fire' when Ron thinks Harry put his own name into the cup, whilst destroying the horcrux locket (when he sees harry intimate with Hermione). Ron contrasts with harry because Ron has a large family with insufficient funds whereas Harry has no family yet has acquired a large amount of wealth. Ron is jealous of Harry's wealth and Harry is jealous of Ron because he has a family.
I believe, that in terms of importance, Ron is a 9 (.5?) because he plays a major role in the development of the story as well as being symbolic.
Now time for some more interesting facts about Ronald Weasley.
1.) Ron named Rose
2.) At this point in time the thing that would scare Ron most is if Hermione became pregnant with twins but one of them wouldn't make it.
3.) Ron was/is afraid of spiders because Fred transformed his teddy into a spider when Ron was three.
4.) Ron eventually appears in the Chocolate frog cards and he said it was the greatest thing he’d ever achieved in his life.
5.) Ron is distantly related to Draco Malfoy

Harry Potter Month- Draco Malfoy
Draco Malfoy. Born 5th June 1980. He was Harry Potter’snemesis since the time they first met in The Philosopher’s Stone. Soon after this, he was sorted into Slytherin. Draco is from a family of wealthy pure bloods who have always been loyal to the Dark Lord. Out of 10, I think that Draco is a 7 or 8 in ranking of importance. As Harry’s high school nemesis, he adds some drama to Harry’s school life at Hogwarts but also represents the idea of social status and bullies in school. Draco always shows he is part of the Malfoy family and that they have power throughout his time at Hogwarts and so represents the stereotypical ‘I’m better than you’ person in Harry’s life. He also represents the group of people within this who have been taught that by the people around them. Draco has been brought up with the idea that his family are superior to everyone else and that purebloods are better than muggles, muggle borns or half bloods (really anyone but a pureblood). This could represent groups of people we have today. For example, a person who has had thoughts put into their head about certain races through propaganda. However, he is shown later in the books/films that they were put into his head and he didn’t support them when he saw what was actually happening with the Death Eaters. This can be seen when he is ordered to kill Dumbledore, but doesn’t. There is also a deleted scene from the films when Harry is supposedly dead and jumps out of Hagrid’s arms and runs back into the castle where Draco throws Harry his wand. This shows how he has been manipulated by his family and has always been trying to live up to his father’s expectations. Okay, serious stuff aside, I found some interesting facts about Draco Malfoy (I’ll put credits at the end). Draco Malfoy always adored Professor Snape. Well, it wasn’t because he was a family friend or godfather but because Draco actually really liked potions. It was like a Potterhead loves Harry Potter (as in the whole thing, not necessarily just Harry). So, for him, Snape was a master and so idolized him for his potion making. Draco loved chocolate. And lots of it. He had an addiction to chocolate and chocolate deserts. Draco was also a really good artist. His mother was a very artistic person and he got his drawing skills from her. I think that Draco is a very misunderstood character and has been living in his father’s image of an ideal son most of his life but I want to know what you think. Also, feel free to ask us any questions on this or anything else we do. Oh and link to where I got the facts from: http://www.fanpop.com/clubs/draco-malfoy/articles/142475/title/20-random-facts-about-draco-malfoy-2 ~The Delusional Misfits~
