After a couple of months I have finally read all the books. As it says on the cover it's five books in one.
I am completely in love with the first thrree books in the series, after that the spark wasn't really there. It didnt feel as genuine anymore. So while it started on a high 5/5 it slowly sank to a solid 3/5 at the end.
I will definitely return to this book for the writing style. Douglas Adams writes like no one else: "The ships hung in the sky in much the same way that bricks don't "

Here are the books I read in October. I chose not to focus on reading scary books (though arguably the Keplers are quite haunting) and instead I stuck to books I've been wanting to read for a while now.
It was a good month and none of the books I read were rated lower than 3/5. My favourite this month has to be The Fire Witness by Lars Kepler, I could hardly put it down! It took me three days to read, and I was on a trip during that time.
I got the third and final book of The Shattered Sea this summer so I decided to do a re-read of the previous books before finishing the series. I am impressed. I fell in love with the characters and I loved the fact that every book followed new protagonists that interacted with the previous ones. It was a cool way to let us follow the previous characters' growth. Nothing is black and white in this world. I have a lot of theories and I need to find someone to discuss them with.
I've been on a streak of reading books in Swedish lately, but this month I'm starting the last of the Kepler's that I own and after that it's back to English again.

A to Z survey
To kick this thing of I have decided to do Perpetual Page Turner’s survey
Author you’ve read the most books from:
Definitely John Flanagan, Ranger’s Apprentice was my favourite series when i was younger and to this day i still buy all the books from the main series and the spin-offs.
Best Sequel Ever:
Waking Gods by Sylvain Neuvel, is the only one I can think of right now
Currently Reading:
At the moment I have four books that I have started: Frankenstein by Mary Shelley, Mostly Harmless by Douglas Adams, BLacKKKlansman by Ron Stallworth and All Quiet on the Western Front by Erich Maria Remarque
Drink of Choice While Reading:
Hot chocolate or water, water is so easy and I know it wont be bad for me in any way shape or form
E-reader or Physical Book?
I prefer physical books, but I don’t mind reading an e-book occasionally
Fictional Character You Probably Would Have Actually Dated in High School:
I feel like Brand from Half the World by Joe Abercrombie would be a possibility.
Glad You Gave This Book a Chance:
The Hypnotist by Lars Kepler, it introduced me to the wonderful world of murder mysteries
Hidden Gem Book:
The Goddess of Buttercups & Daisies by Martin Miller
Important Moment in your Reading Life:
Discovering the Inheritance Cycle by Christopher Paolini, it opened up the door to the world of fantasy and longer books
Just Finished:
The Sandman by Lars Kepler, it’s the fourth book in the Joona Linna series and just as good as the previous ones.
Kinds of Books You Won’t Read:
Adult Romance books, they’re just not my thing
Longest Book You’ve Read:
Inheritance by Christopher Paolini, 889 pages
Major Book Hangover Because of:
The Song of Achilles by Madeline Miller, it’s my favourite book of all time
Number of Bookcases You Own:
2, one wider and one narrower they aren’t very tall either, I use the library a lot
One Book You Have Read Multiple Times:
Once again the answer is The Song of Achilles by Madeline Miller, it’s a masterpiece, I’ve read it at least 5 times and I still cry.
Preffered Place to Read:
My family’s cabin by the sea or in our little glass house in the garden, i love to read on couches
Quote That Inspires You/Gives You All the Feels:
“And perhaps it is the greater grief after all, to be left on earth when another is gone” - The Song of Achilles - Madeline Miller (are you noticing the theme yet)
Reading Regret:
I once accidentally bought a Swedish book in English, that’s probably the only one I have
Series You Started and Need to Finish:
The Broken Empire by Mark Lawrence, I love it, but I always wait too long before I pick up the next book so I forget what happened in the previous one.
Three of your All-Time Favourite Books:
The Call of the Wild, The Song of Achilles and You by Caroline Kepnes
Unapologetic Fangirl For:
Harry Potter, always
Very Excited For This Release More Than All the Others:
I don’t keep up with new books, I just go to the store/library and pick up whatever I feel like, so I don’t really know any
Worst Bookish Habit:
I always read too many books at once, and then i get caught up in one and forget about all the others.
X Marks the Spot: start at the top left of your shelf and pick the 27th book:
Throne of Glass by Sarah J Maas, didn’t love it so I won’t read the rest
Your Latest Book Purchase:
The Unknown Kimi Räikkönen by Kari Hotakainen
Zzz-Snatcher Book (last book that kept you up WAY late):
My Sister’s Keeper by Jodi Picoult, I just couldn’t stop, the perfect chapter length for thinking “just this chapter and then I’ll sleep”

A new Bookblr
I’ve been on tumblr for quite a few years now but I felt that it was time for something new. I have always loved to read and my bookshelf is slowly but surely being filled.
The main genres i read are fantasy, sci-fi and thriller, but I’m not that picky. Book recs are always welcome!

I’ve done some Twitter threads on this topic, so thought it might be nice to do a Tumblr post too. One of my pet peeves is when people act like adult fantasy (or sci-fi for that matter) is just a straight white dude thing and that diversity only exists in young adult fantasy. That’s such a disservice to all the authors of marginalized identities currently writing adult fantasy!
Authors and books below the cut, including links to Goodreads. I’m not providing trigger warnings (if I make the post too long Tumblr starts freaking out about it), but you can use the search function on Goodreads reviews to find more specifics.
