There's something about her writing that is so immersive and detailed, and her characters are so captivating and well rounded! ✨First week of January check-in!✨ How's everyone doing on their reading? I shocked myself and read 7 books so far! I read these four and the rest on audiobook and I have to say there were AMAZING! Only one book made me ugly cry and when I was telling my sister about it I started crying all over again even though it was three days later! Seeing how all their choices affect how things play out. I'm endlessly enthralled by the way the human brain works, and how different situations and pressures change how different people make decisions. Thats why I love Enemies to Lover stories. What makes two people who under all circumstances should hate each other fall in love? What dominos fall and get knocked down to cause this result? That's something I look forward to find out when I finally get to ‘These Violent Delights’ and ‘Our Violent Ends’ by @thechloegong I really want to get to in before January ends! The gorgeous cover of Chain of Iron. I love all the details like the moths, Lucie’s Voyance rune, and the fact that she is holding Jesse’s Blackthorn locket (look at the close up and you can see the thorns etched on it.) some people have asked me if Lucie’s dress signifies anything but no, it’s just a yellow dress — yellow and blue lie at opposite sides of the color wheel and artists love contrasting them. It is winter in the background, as COI takes place during winter. Art and design by Cliff Nielsen. 💥
