I'm rewatching Halloween 1978 so be prepared for the queue to be very specific.

Also been listening to a podcast about it and a real, not-terrible psychiatrist was interviewed to talk about Dr. Loomis (the absolutely terrible psychiatrist) and Michael and how Michael's therapy should have gone (hint: talk therapy doesn't work when your patient is fucking mute) and how Michael most likely went mute due to trauma that happened BEFORE the movie started. He suggests that his older sister Judith Myers may have sexually abused Michael before the incident of her murder on Halloween, which is something that strengthens my interpretation of the movie of Michael being on a vengeful rampage fueled by a desire to protect the children being babysat from who he views as dangerous teenage babysitters. (Yeah, yeah, I know the sequels spit in my face every time they can when it comes to the idea that Michael is protective of children, but what is even canon at this point outside of the original film, anyway? The franchise branches off into at LEAST three different continuities, so I can believe whatever I fucking want to believe about Michael, so there.)

Anyway, I love this movie, despite its flaws, and I love talking about it but don't have many people to talk about it with.
