âSure thing. Â Come on in,â Shinu said, stepping to the side and holding the door open for the other yordle.
Once they were both inside, Shinu closed the door and walked over to his desk. Â In one swift movement, he hopped onto the tabletop and sat on the edge of it. Â The yordle leaned back slightly, gripping the edge with both of his hands.
âNow, whatâs on your mind?â he asked, turning his attention to the other yordle.

âYouâre looking at him,â Shinu stated. Â It was rare that Shinu got civilian visitors in his office. Â If there was a death to be investigated, most people turned to the police as their first source, not the coroner himself. Â Shinu often only got the assignments from the police after they were done investigating.
âAnd what can I do for you today?â he repeated, eyeing the yordle momentarily. Â The visitor had a strange accent not of the city, giving Shinu the thought that the other yordle originated from some other city, like Piltover or Bilgewater.
âYâmind if we talk about this inside? ânuff people seen me with tears and whatnotâŚIâd hate to start up again with the cryinâ when I try to explain this.â Hudson requested as he looked away to once again to wipe his nose.
He found it hard to believe that this yordle was the Shinu that his informant was talking about. âHis detective work and skill is unbelievable. I guarantee that heâll find your man in two days tops.â The hell did he mean about his skill? Was he some sort of fighter? He sure as hell didnât look it. Guess heâll have to see for himself.

Inside the office, Shinu laid back on his chair with his feet on the table, reading a book. Â To the right of him sat a small stack of papers, all neatly organized and complete. Â To the left of him laid his pet rat, Ambrose, who was perfectly content staring at the wall and doing nothing. Â All in all, the office lacked activity today, like most other days.
The nice thing about being a coroner in Bandle City is that deaths rarely occur, which unsurprisingly leaves the reaper with a lot of free time.
A deep voice resonated inside his head. Â There are still two deaths that you have to investigate, you know.
The yordle glanced at the rat. Â âI know, Ambrose, but the police still has to recover the bodies. Â Until then, theyâre not my problem.â Â He turned his attention back to the book. Â âBesides,â he added, âtheyâre expected to be delivered by tomorrow, so weâll have plenty on our hands by then.â
Shinu didnât get farther than two pages before he heard a knocking on his door. Â Sighing, he set his book aside and got up with Ambrose hopping into the pocket of his robe. Â The yordle wasnât exactly dressed professionally, but he didnât care - being an irreplaceable coroner had its benefits.
He opened the door and stared at the sniveling yordle in front of him. Â Shinuâs expression didnât change, as heâs had years of experience dealing with all sorts of people, whether they were mourning, angry, or just batshit crazy.
âAnd what can I do for you today?â

Young yordle, casual clothing, lowered earsâŚsome kind of pet in his pocket? This doesnât seem like the guy he was looking for at all. Maybe this was some sort of unpaid intern of some sort? Is that what they called them? Whatever they were called, Hudson wasnât going to abandon ship just yet. A little faith in an informant goes a long way after all.Â
Sniff, sniff.
âEy there, boss. Pardon the waterworks, but Iâm uhâŚâ
Sniff.
âIâm lookin for someone Iâve been told lives âere, and could help me with myâŚparticular predicament. He goes by, ShinuâŚI think?â Hudson guessed convincingly.

Shinu glanced back at the other yordle, firing back a retort without a second thought. Â âRight, and you look a little too old to be hunting down magic beasts. Â Whatâs your point?â
He crossed his arms and turned his attention back to the corpses, though his thoughts were primarily on the older yordle. Â What was he doing here this late at night? Â And how did he even know a shadow beast was out loose anyways? Â He certainly didnât seem like he was from a scouting party, much less from the city itself.
Probably a hunter, Shinu thought. Â Maybe from the mountains... but where did he learn to use magic?
His thoughts were interrupted by the magic projectile firing straight towards him. Â The yordle didnât so much as flinch when the arrow notched itself right in front of his feed.
âWell,â Shinu began, crossing his arms and turning towards the other yordle. Â âThatâs one way to greet a stranger, though an action like that would be enough to arrest you in the city. Â What are you doing out here, anyways?â

Shinu stood within the shadows of the tree, unperturbed by the presence of death within the area. Â He glanced ever so slightly to the side, seemingly appreciating the silent forest surrounding him. Â In actuality, he was taking his time absorbing information from his necropsy of the corpses before revealing himself to the other yordle.
He walked out of the forest shade, revealing himself in the moonlight bit by bit. Â The yordle approached the carcasses and knelt by the younger one, carefully examining the body and smearing a finger against the spilled blood. Â âI can take care of myself, thank you,â he stated, staring at the blood on his finger before cleaning it off and rising up to his feet.
âHmmf. Â Unfortunate that this one died. Â Passionate, but also foolish to accept a suicidal task for his age. Â He couldâve grown up to be something great.â
A small figure poked its head out of the yordleâs robe pocket, staring at the two carcasses before raising its head towards the reaper.
You say the same thing for all of them.
The yordle ignored the voice in his head and turned to the other one. Â He closed his eyes and took a deep breath through his nostrils before continuing. Â âItâs not just blood thatâs present, either. Â Thereâs magic here, too. Â Strong magic. Â It must be residue left by the creature after his mauling.â
Or it could be the magic bow this one conjured up.
Shinu let out a brief sigh. Â Gonna be one of those days, he thought.
Blood in the Soil
âTheyâre already dead. Donât bother.â
The brown yordle spoke dispassionately to the presence behind him, wrinkling his snout at the stench that had pervaded the air. The younger of the dead had soiled himself before dying, darkened blood still oozing from large gashes on his person. The older was slammed into a tree, frozen in the act of reaching for his knife, his eyes staring on a thousand yards ahead.
âScout officers.â He began, his voice thick with disdain. âSent a youngling fresh out of some prissy school to track a Shadow Bear that ran afoul south of the mountains.â Without turning, he conjured a bow in his hands and planted it onto the ground.Â
âYou seem ill-dressed for a hike, or a hunt. Should I be concerned?â

Iâve known Kodi for a while and heâs a great guy. Â Even if you donât donate, heâd still be immensely grateful if you share this.
I hate asking for help guys, but at this point I really donât know what else to do. Donât feel like you need to help, but.. anything and everything would help, even if itâs just a share

Ambrose stuck his head out of the pocket after being disturbed by a somewhat bothersome light. Â He looked at the meep for a moment, shook his head as if to shoo it away, then dove back into his masterâs pocket.
Of course, Shinu paid no heed to this because he was too busy looking at the strange figure in front of him. Â âUh, yeah. Â Iâm Shinu. Â And do you have a name... whatever you are?â he asked. Â He thought that was a stupid question to ask, because if a figure could speak then it probably had a name, but the reaper wasnât exactly thinking straight during this time.
"Well, you're someone I haven't seen before. Who - or what, rather - are you?"
The spirit gave a deep bow and made several musical tones until they formed into words.  âYou may call us âBardâ. We are a spirit tasked with maintaining the balance of the universe.â  He held out one hand in a gesture toward the yordle.âI know of you, as well,â he commented. âYou are theâŚÂ âDeath of yordlesâ, correct?â

//Outstanding as usual, Teo.
// Itâs doooone~! I hope you like it ardent-apprentice! (aka Sol) It was only a few days of work, but I did end up having to put it off all of last month for schoolwork (which I hate and never want to have to do again). I experimented with a lot of new techniques with this drawing, so please let me know what you think!

The yordleâs ears twitched as the notes resonated around his head.  Admittedly, it was hard for him to think until the music formed into more comprehensible tones.  Whoever this âBardâ character is, he thought, heâs definitely some sort of⌠supernatural force.
âEr⌠yeah, I guess I am,â he said, scratching his head and wondering why he suddenly sounded so unconfident in his answer.  He stretched out his hand and shook it with Bardâs.
Shinu could feel his pet rat, Ambrose, stick its head out of his robe pocket. Â The rat stared at the strange figure for a bit, but it decided to go back to sleep in his masterâs pocket.

Back
//As some of you may have noticed, I took an unannounced, month long hiatus from Tumblr. Â Reasons for doing so was because schoolwork got hectic and I got lazier, so I needed a break from writing. Â While Iâm back, Iâm still going to be really busy this week, but this time Iâm actually gonna try and get some RPs started.
I did have a spring break, which I used up visiting London with my family, so that was fun. Â If I find the cable that connects the camera to the computer, then I might post some pictures.
Also, my birthdayâs in 10 minutes. Â Yaaaaay~
I also updated my headcannons and lore somewhat for anyone interested.

yuko-wolf replied to your post â//Am i the only one who doesnât give a fuck about this dress thing?â
//whatâs going on? 0-0
//The new twilight team war
//I think this is actually a really interesting phenomenon. Â This isn't a case of who's right and who's wrong because most people by now know that the actual color of the dress is blue and black in real life - rather, this is a matter of what your brain perceives in the picture.
What make this so intriguing is not only how different people see this dress differently, but also how difficult it is to switch between the two modes.  Take this spinning dancer gif as an example. You can either see it spinning clockwise or counterclockwise, and it's relatively easy to make your brain switch between the two.  Trying to see black and blue on the dress when you're seeing white and gold (or vice versa), on the other hand, is ridiculously difficult no matter what you try to make your brain think.

Zen reddened slightly under his fur at being scolded like that, but followed the librarian regardless. âOkay..â He mumbled, looking up at the books. âUm..sorry..mister.â
"Just stay quiet. Â No need to disturb the other readers here, young 'un," he smiled.
The pair walked over to the braille section and Shinu began to look for a book. Â Judging from Zen's prior reactions, the librarian figured the child wouldn't choose a book himself. Â Shinu picked out a children's book - one with talking animals and the such. Â "How's this book look, sir?"
Looking for a good book(closed rp with reapershinu)

Shinu observed the grey yordle momentarily. Â He figured Nocke was worried about something judging from the way the yordle was hugging his knees. Â Shinu gently placed a hand on Nockeâs back as an attempt to comfort him. Â âSomehow, I donât believe that you wonât do whatever you did again. Â And if you do go, at least let me come so I can protect you," he stated.
Meanwhile, Ambrose circled around the cat's right paw. Â He couldn't hear the cat's own thoughts as he wasn't a mind reader, but that didn't bother him very much.
I don't think you can talk. Â But that's fine, I haven't met another animal that can communicate telepathically yet.
He walked in front of Nox and gazed in the larger animal's eyes again.
Shinu strolls through the woods in a rather carefree manner, enjoying the peaceful setting and the quiet afternoon. A peculiar looking rat sat on his shoulders, and Shinu raised a hand and pet its head. Eventually, they reached a familiar house, and the yordle knocked on its door thrice, hoping for another conversation with his 'friend'.
The yordleâs ears perked up when he heard the knocks. He gazed through the floor at the front door, taking note of two lights standing there. A hand reached up to his left cheek, and grabbed a black scarf off the chair at his desk. Nocke draped it on his shoulders so it covered his mouth and the fresh scars before he went downstairs. With an breath in for confidence, he opened the door.
"Shinu! Itâs a surprise to see you here again so soon. What are you doing here? Can I do anything for you?"
