One of the bravest things a person can do? There's a long list - but I think one of the bravest things most people will ever do is

Ask for help.

It's something I've always struggles with but something so very important. As I get older and my body changes in new ways, I've had to realize and accept that it's OK to ask for help. She has helped me realize that.

When we first met, I think we were both learning how to trust again after our prior relationships left us physically (her) and emotionally (both) bruised.

But learning how to trust again is never easy. There are growls and sharp thorns in the shadows of the dark world of hurt. But she taught me that someone can raise a lantern for another and suddenly that darkness isn't so dark when you have a light to go by. And through this tangle of old wounds, there she is. Always. Little Miss visited a wildlife rehab / rescue yesterday. One of the local raccoons became her best friend almost instantly

Seems like yesterday I was holding her hands as she was learning to walk and teaching her to ride a bike.

I don’t even care if it’s macaroni, ramen or those little bowls you stick in the microwave. Please, I need reassurance that most of the population on tumblr WOULDN’T STARVE TO DEATH if their parents couldn’t fix them food or they couldn’t go out to eat.

Hi.

I have a 7mm cyst in my spine. I can't feel the lower half of my right leg. It hurts, though. My back hurts. It radiates through my legs. Sometimes it hurts so bad I want to throw up. Often it hurts so bad j can't eat. Passing a kidney stone is the only thing I've dealt with that matches or surpasses the pain.

If I didn't have pain meds I would without a doubt, take drastic and irreversible actions.

I am dependant on these meds to live everyday life. As a result, my body has become addicted. I would much rather be here taking pills to manage pain than sitting in a box in the mantle, nothing but ashes. While I wouldn't be in pain anymore, I would have only succeeded in passing my physical pain on to my loved ones as emotional pain.

this is APPARENTLY a HOT FUCKING TAKE but

i would rather someone live out the rest of their life dependent on or addicted to a pain medication that helps with their pain, than suffer in pain that could be helped for the rest of their life just so self-righteous dicks can say "thank god they're not an addict"
