BLODEUWEDD
Acrylic, paper, and acetate sheets on canvas
BLODEUWEDD is known to be the Celtic Godess of Spring. Her story is told within one of the four branches of the Mabinogion in Welsh folklore and mythology.
I worked on this painting last semester but moved on from it too quickly, so I've decided to appreciate it more by displaying it at Night School in the Birmingham School of Art. This next semester, I'm going to focus on her story and share it with people, giving it a modern and feminist twist.

Mari Lwyd
Acrylic paint on wooden board
My final piece from my first semester on my MA Fine Art degree. It's been such a process getting back into traditional painting and im very excited to develop my skills and process in the next semester.
This work is about the Welsh tradition of the Mari Lwyd; a celebration of the new year with communities singing together with a dressed up horse skull. The text in the work are original and translated lyrics that would be sung by groups of people.

If you didn't know already, I'm illustrating a book for my degree exhibition! This is the first project I've made available for people to purchase and I'm so excited to share the front cover today!
This is my book, Dwynwen. A retelling of the old folk tale based at Ynys Llanddwyn. It's been so fun illustrating this book. I've definitely learned a lot and my art style has improved.
This book will be available, alongside stickers and tote bags at the exhibition next month. Until then, I'd like to share the fact I have a kickstarter running! I'm hoping to raise the funds to get this book and all the merch printed! If you'd like a book, please consider checking out the kickstarter!
