As a part of my spiritual practice and in dedication to the betterment of all beings on the planet, I’ve created my Daily Tarot Scope Snapchat!

This journey began last summer when I was given the opportunity to be a featured tarot reader for Buzzfeeds Snapchat channel, where I helped to create a short video series which was used in a fun interactive video story. Since then, I’ve been posting a daily card with a short inspirational message to my receptive.tarot Snapchat story, channeling messages for the collective and spreading my knowledge of the tarot to different corners of the world. It’s been remarkable to reach so many people, and truly an honor to help introduce others to my favorite metaphysical tool.
Before I pull the daily card, I pray to the archangels, guides and positive beings of light that surround my audience, and ask that the card is a message that speaks to all those whom see it.

As I pulled these three cards, I couldn’t help but feel my throat tighten. It has been an incredibly charged few months, and the cards seemed to spill forth the raw emotions that have been swirling within the collective conscious lately. The Tower speaks of the mass shooting in Orlando, of suicide bombings killing hundreds during Ramadan, of the killing of innocent people by the police, of countries at war against themselves. But there is a greater lesson to keep in mind with all of this, and this message is told by the 3 of Swords and the Justice cards.
This is a time of sorrow and unexpected destruction, but we do still have the ability to choose our reactions. We can move forward with violence, or with thoughtful and well balanced moral discipline. The 3 of Swords urges us to express our pain, to communicate and share our experiences with one another. So often the violence in the world remains an abstraction: we read about it in the news, we attempt to assimilate the information, but ultimately if an event is not experienced it is difficult to understand its true impact. But this is false security. This spread begs us to put ourselves into one another’s shoes, to imagine ourselves within these events, so that we may better understand both the victims and the perpetrators.
It’s hard to imagine ourselves feeling sorry for the madness of the people who commit these sorts of heinous crimes. However, the Justice card urges us to see both sides of the story. The systemic corruption within our world cannot be ignored, and it must be fully understood in order to be fairly dealt with. Violence only begets violence, and on a collective level we must face this abuse of power together. The Justice card speaks to balance, and with the appearance of the Tower, we are reminded that any political or personal structure built around destruction and moral chaos will eventually fail. We are asked to stand together and demand a fair trial, so that the sorrow can finally be understood. We must be ready to rebuild our world together, and the necessary change begins within each of our hearts, it moves through our words, and it is delivered by our understanding of the ultimate purpose of life: to live, to love, to create.

This week we have a blending of opposites, and the High Priestess has appeared as our guide through the gray areas we are now traversing.
The Two of Wands is fire stabilized, tempering the bold statement of the Ace that came before it. We've begun a new journey and must cultivate the patience and fortitude to continue stoking the flames. There is a wider perspective at play here: now that we are on our way, potential mishaps and pitfalls can become a reality. The man in the Two of Wands must choose carefully
These pitfalls and feelings of trepidation are amplified by the appearance of the 5 of Cups that stands to the right of the Priestess. Those overturned cups feel like a wet blanket in this instance, and the figure in the card echoes the black pillar to the left of the Priestess. It appears that we need to do our research, and the High Priestess is asking us to move away from negativity towards the middle path where she resides, resting between darkness and light. The past few weeks have been very heated and since all that fire can be emotionally destructive, it's easy to get distracted by all that has gone wrong.
How then does one deal with emotional uncertainty? This spread urges us to take this pause in the action and enter into meditation. The High Priestess confronts us with mystery, but she is also the only face in this spread that appears to look back at the reader. This implies that knowledge will come when we are willing to step back and really confront ourselves and the spiritual ramifications of our choices.
This spread also speaks of the loss of one thing for another and the spiritual lesson involved: be a rock unto yourself and remember to cultivate your inner garden. Life will always change, but a strong spiritual foundation can be a constant source of energy.

Happy solstice and strawberry moon! The coalescing of high energy Sagittarius moon and the longest day of the year is a rare event, and last occurred on the summer solstice of 1967, often referred to as the Summer of Love. This is a fantastic time to begin anew, so this post is my very first foray into writing on a regular basis for the masses. Please enjoy my first tarot.scope, a weekly treat for spiritual contemplation and intuitive health. The first card that I pulled is the 4 of Pentacles, which can translate to strong material foundations. However, this stability comes at a price: the man in this card is so wrapped up in his finances that he is unable to budge. This can represent material wealth at the cost of spiritual awareness or the workaholic that is so concerned with financial growth that he neglects all else. Does this sound familiar? It's definitely a part of the American ethos of financial gain above all else! The message here is to remember that accumulated wealth is at its best when it is put into action, when abundance is constructively put to work. Otherwise, stagnation of spirit is immanent. The Ace of Wands joyfully invites the miser in the 4 of pentacles to joyfully begin living life! Spiritual rebirth and summer fire are paramount here, and the energy of the recent solstice invites us all to begin new projects and adjust our mindsets towards growth and expansion. Just go for it is the motto of the Ace of Wands! This is especially indicative of the Sagittarius full moon that is reigning down inspiration and breakthrough moments this week. The final card is the Page of Swords, which seems to imply that we must remain diligent with our plans even after the excitement of the Ace of Wands has passed. After all, impulsively going for it is only one part of the equation: the 2nd part is the challenge of remaining dedicated despite the ups and downs that are sure to occur with any new enterprise. The appearance of the Page also reminds us that the overly concerned person in the 4 of Pentacles does have an important lesson: it takes grounded focus to carry plans through to completion. The energy of the 4 of Pentacles tempers the mental acuity and impulse of the Page of Swords, helping to ground the mental stimulation of burgeoning plans. This allows the fires of the Ace of Wands to burn with the help of a steady wind, as if the earthy clinging of the 4 of Pentacles creates a safe buffer (almost like a fire pit) for the manifestations of our desires. Remember to begin today! Even the smallest steps taken daily can transform our lives, and this is the week to begin fresh. <3 Christine of Receptive.Tarot

About Receptive.Tarot
Greetings! My name is Christine and I’m an intuitive tarot reader, dream interpreter and Usui Reiki practitioner.
ABOUT ME
My journey as an intuitive started as a young child, when I experienced my first precognitive dreams. So began a life long interest in all things mysterious and paranormal. I scoured the bookshelves of my local library and used bookstore for any information on magic, ETs and UFOs, unicorns, ghosts, dreams and eventually the occult. Being raised as a Catholic in Indiana, there were moments as teenager where I felt deeply conflicted: my interest in magic and my personal psychic experiences were not part of the cultural fabric around me. Yet despite this, I began studying and strengthening my psychic abilities through personal study and yoga. My lineage as a healer and reader can be traced back through my Italian heritage, so it’s no wonder that the tarot spoke to me so deeply. The moment I received my first deck I was immediately entranced by the mystery and potential of the cards, and the inherent power of symbolism.
Even now, 17 years later, I am still amazed by the clarity and profound truths that the tarot offers. At the age of 20 while pursuing a BFA in Film, Video and Photography, I began offering readings to the public, and have been a featured reader at Nature’s Treasures in Austin, TX and House of Intuition in Los Angeles, CA.
I’m also a musician and sound healer, using voice, classical guitar, synthesizer and guided meditation to help bring about deep meditative transformation.
READINGS & HEALINGS
The tarot is a tool for those willing to see themselves. During a reading, I act as guide and interpreter, offering intuitive insight and clairvoyant impressions. Each reading is infused with the love and positive action that the universe treasures.
I believe that when the tarot is read in the present moment, it is at its most powerful. Its offering is a window into actions, potentials, and energies that are latent and ready for expression. Ultimately, the future is in your hands, but if you seek answers, answers do tend to seek you. I also teach the art of tarot reading using my own unique method, in order to give my students the necessary understanding to begin their own practice.
If you’ve been feeling energetically heavy and are interested in a deeper understanding of your emotional and physical bodies, I offer Usui Reiki healings and energy clearings. Using light touch, crystals and clairvoyant impressions, energy blockages and negative attachments are removed, allowing for a renewed flow of energy and purposeful action.
I also offer dream interpretations, utilizing a combination of free association and intuitive insight. Dreams are an incredible way to delve into deeper aspects of our psyche in order to help us tap into our own personal archetypes. They can also offer profound glimpses into the future, aiding us in decision making and shedding light on hidden aspects of our personal journeys.
It’s such a blessing to be able to share insight and connection, so please get in touch for a reading! I currently read tarot at the House of Intuition in Los Angeles, CA, so call 213.413.8300 to schedule an appointment in person or over the phone. You can also email me directly at [email protected], or click the CONTACT.
(be sure to leave your name and email or phone number!)
Love, Christine
