Gotta love our relaxing Sundays! Step 1 of our DIY Pallet wood Privacy fence is almost finished! Next step...Filling in all the gaps with the left over broken down Pallet wood. Don't judge a book by it's cover, I have full faith in these two guys that this fence is gonna look FABULOUS once they are finished! 😬😀 Oh and did I mention this fence is FREE FREE FREE! As I sit down and finally take a minute to relax today, it dawns on me that it's Wednesday...the last day of May. It was around this time three years ago that Chris convinced me to move to #MariettaGeorgia for a chance at a better education for our son, Caleb. It's definitely turned out to be a great decision for our whole family. This time next year we will be celebrating his graduation. 🎓 ..... I can't begin to express to those of you who have young children how FAST time rolls by. Savor every moment...the good and the not so good ones 😉. One day you may be just like me, looking up and wondering how life will change this time next year as he heads into his first summer before college. We are excited (but not excited), happy (but not happy), sad (but not sad), can't wait (but really wish it could wait). ..... Honestly we are so confused I think I feel a "vacation" home purchase in a college town coming soon. 😕😔🙄 ..... I think I'll play a little #tbt today. I really do love how this room turned out so I think it deserves another go around! 💙 . Chris did a great job debarking...sanding...and staining this live edge wood slab. Carrying in those custom built steal legs was NO JOKE! They had to of weighed about 100lbs each! 😂 I also love how the faux brick wall just added that extra creative pop the room needed. . I picked up the phone this week to hear a soft voice on the other end. 80 year old Joanne had just read our article in the paper and decided to reach out and give us a call. ☎️ . She's been living in her home over 60 years and has watched as her neighbors moved on to different parts of the city and world. As new enormous houses are being built out every view of her window, Joanne chooses to stay. She loves her four walls, but even more...the memories held within. 💕 . Chris & I headed to meet her yesterday, she invited us because she has a little vintage "#tinyhouse" on the outskirts of her property that she wanted to give to us if we could find use for it. This was the first land owner's 🏚. With a small area to cook his food, a place for his bed and a little room left over for his Piano...yep I said Piano 🎹...he had all he needed. His wife didn't even live with him! She had her own trailer next door (don't get any ideas Chris Johnson)! 😳 . Needles to say, it was a great day! We met a beautiful woman, heard some awesome stories, and was gifted with another piece of Hometown history. Whether you're a mom or you are celebrating a mom today I hope you are enjoying your day! I've been ordered by my hubby & son to "chill out" and soak in the 80 Degree ☀️ Day while they finish 🔨 our backyard fence. . We did make sure earlier to venture down to the @mariettasquare to pick up a bouquet of fresh flowers from my good friend @victoryblooms fundraiser she hosted in front of @thebutcher__thebaker in honor of her mother for Mother's Day. 100% of her proceeds went to St. Jude's Children's Hospital. This is close to my ❤️ too, as I lost my mother to a long battle with Melanoma when I was just a teenager. Thinking of her today...💓🌺💓 #happymothersdaymom #strongestwomaniknow

Where do I start! I love today's #saturdaydecorscores party!! Thank u @thelittlemendedtable For the invite! Almost everything we own in our home is some form of a "score". I do love this cute little vintage Chest of Drawers I paid $25 for at a garage sale. The chair is a craigslist find...the glass bottles & little white tea pot (I converted into a flower pot) came from a small thrift store in Marietta, Ga where all $ goes towards pet adoptions. The metal "frame" I scooped up from @scotts_market for $5, & that beautiful wreath...well I'm lucky enough to live in a cul de sac w/the talented @victorysbloom! What more can I say. This breakfast/reading nook is one of my favorite little corners in our home.
