Unpopular opinion about Gabriel Agreste

Everyone agrees that Gabriel Agreste is the most despicable person and it's hard to argue with that. He's not the best father, not the best boss, not the best person. But why is it so easy to blindly hate him? I mean, why does the fandom while dousing him in filth forget why he became this way? Imagine this: you come from a poor family, trying to make a name for yourself in a career but no one wants to buy your clothes because you're not a "fashionable" designer. You live in a tiny apartment under a roof, living an unstable bohemian life. And then you meet a freaking aristocrat who looks like a goddess. She falls in love with you and leaves everything she has, forever leaving her homeland, renouncing her title, quarreling with her parents to stay with you as a wife. Then she helps you make a career through her connections, you finally start to achieve something in life, and then it turns out that you're infertile. For several years you spend on constant expeditions to find the Miraculous and finally become parents to a perfect child. You have a wonderful life again and at some point your wife, who has been through all the trials with you, who has stayed with you forever, dies from using a broken Miraculous. You lose the love of your life. And the only chance to bring her back is to become a villain. Why do people ignore this fact? Has none of you ever lost loved ones? Don't you know how painful it is? Wouldn't you want to bring back a loved one having the same opportunity that Gabriel had? I don't believe that no one would agree.

Oh, and few words about their relationship with Adrien. Gabriel lost the wife he loved madly, and Adrien lost his beloved mother. Obviously such a loss cannot but affect mental health. And it does. At the beginning of the seasons Gabriel is either in a state of depression or in a state of denial. Can we blame him for being a terrible and cold father if he himself is feeling very bad? Does a person with a deep emotional trauma deserve to be ashamed for not being cheerful, kind and joyful? Depression from losing his wife and using the Miraculous changed his mind, and what we see in the end is just the result of a cruel accident that happened in his life.

I don't want to justify Gabriel's actions, but I think we need to stop hating him. He's a person too, albeit a drawn one. And he makes mistakes too...

Emily taught Gabriel to play the piano

When Emily lived on the estate she studied economics and finance at the initiative of her father who wanted to make her heiress to his fortune. Subsequently she helped run Gabriel’s business and was one of the directors of his company

Graham de Vanily family rings are made of platinum

Emily spoke several languages including Italian, Spanish, German and Latin

At the time he met Emily, Gabriel did not know English, but in order to impress her he began to learn it

Gabriel is very good at cooking. His signature dish is (omg) pancakes 😝

Emrielle headcanons part 2

Emily comes from an ancient noble family

The ancestor of her family was of royal descent

Emily is a good dancer. She was engaged in ballroom dancing when she lived on the estate

She practiced horse riding and equestrian polo for five years until she broke her leg. After that, her parents forbade her to ride

She had a horse named Peggy

She had a sweet beautiful laugh

She was proud of her thick curvey golden hair

As a teenager she secretly composed poetry and music for the piano

She had the title of Lady

Despite the fact that she had renounced her title and family, she had observed etiquette all her life

Initially her family wanted to marry Emily to Colt Fathom. But she didn't want that, so she went to study in France to postpone the wedding

When she fell in love with Gabriel, her father was very angry and forced her to choose between love and family. Emily renounced her title and inheritance to stay with her beloved

She had a cold relationships with her parents

She hid her origin from Gabriel

When Gabriel found out the truth he jokingly started calling Emily "my lady"

He was secretly drawing Emily when he fell in love with her

He met Emily in the theatre

He doesn't like a tie

Emily was his first girlfriend and only wife

Their age difference is ten years

Emily could choose any dress from the new collection and Gabriel gave it to her without including it in the fashion show

Emily inspired Gabriel to open his own fashion house
