Just remembered... last night I had an SVSSS-themed dream, and most of it was irrelevant or doesn't make sense out of context. However...
One bit I remember very clearly was that, somehow, Shen Yuan had gotten amnesia after he transmigrated, and, as a result, not only didn't have Shen Jiu's memories, he genuinely didn't remember that he wasn't the actual, original Shen Qingqiu.
And finding out that he'd been an imposter all along hurt. Because, regardless of Shen Qingqiu's prior reputation, it's the only name he knows, the only face he can recall ever seeing in the mirror, he's been Shen Qingqiu as long as he can remember.
Only now he's... not.
And he didn't know where that left him, or who it made him. Just the intense grief of realizing that everything he'd ever thought to be true was a lie.
And just... I dunno, even awake it feels like an awesome idea for a story, so I thought I'd share it.

Ok, reread of scum villain vol. 2 has been accomplished. Here are my thoughts and just things I wanted to note down (disclaimer: make sure to read these knowing the important context that liushen is my favorite ship lol)
I can't get over the Shen-Mu-Liu trio. Those are SQQ's BOYS and watching them interact is very fun. I also love that Mu Qingfang is medicine-pilled in the way that Shen Qingqiu is monster-pilled. Little did we know LQG is actually the most normal of the three
Shen "im just here to cause problems" Qingqiu saying "I know to get my way all i have to do is bat my pretty eyelashes at YQY and he will fold like a house of cards"
SQQ basically telling LQG that he's so strong so he must row the boat, and LQG is just absolutely FUMING because of how attracted he is to SQQ
SQQ referring to LQG as gege ah my heart
More of SQQ causing problems by trying stick Yang Yixuan onto LQG, which I love because you KNOW that in his grief post-Hua Yue City LQG went "fucking WATCH me"
Ngl I've read enough fanfic to realize that people don't really capture LQG's full personality. The usually make him so shy and tsundere that he's barely able to get a word in (Lan Zhan gets similar treatment) but no, he's just as catty as the rest of them
I need to figure out the timeline of how long Shen Yuan had been reading PIDW, it's endlessly important to me
LQG and MQF being like "our beloved little shixiong, please don't fret your pretty little head, just sit there and relax"
There really is some excellent physical comedy in SVSSS, like when SQQ is confronted by LBH and just defenestrates himself. You know that one scene in Angel Beats? Yeah it's exactly that
Qi Qingqi's eyebrows have now been brought up for a second time and it screams gender envy to me. Why are you as a "cis man" admiring a women's eyebrows so thoughtfully? So much to where it's the first thing you bring up about her appearance?
"Why?! Why were two grown men neurotically discussing a pice of clothing while surrounded by staring eyes?" never change Shen Yuan
I'm actually such a simp for Liu Qingge, i'm literally highlighting every mention of him and every word he speaks. I did not appreciate the Liuber my first time reading. He's also so incredibly tsundere "huff puff i can't believe you can't even ride your sword...get on"
Ugh I actually cried while reading the big confrontation. This did not happen my first read, but man it just got me. Also the very subtle POV switch that happens so we don't get any insight into SQQ's thoughts as he prepares to self-detonate
Mushroom Shen Qingqiu!!!! My Beloved!!!!!!! Def one of my favorite parts of the whole series. I think there are so many ways to play around with this character (hence my AU) but also there's this degree of freedom about it where even his internal dialogue is much more loose and less concerned with acting the part
Oh my...he referenced the succubus adventure...
Im sorry how did I completely black out the scene of LQG and SQQ playing hot potato with his corpse?!!?! Remember what I said about physical comedy!!
"Even a few hours ago, he genuinely wouldn't have cared where others (especially those of the same sex) touched him. They could touch wherever they liked, please go ahead" -- Things only said by straight who are 100% comfortable in their sexuality. Yeah. Totally
There are still good moments of seeing SQQ's dissociating himself from the events of the series and just treating everything and everyone as if it weren't "real," and how these thought patterns shift. Once again I think this would be a very fun thing to play around with and explore more
LIU QINGGE!!!! STOP MAKING ME SAD!!!!!!!! HE YEARNS SO MUCH

References in the older generation of demon hunters from the movie KPOP DEMON HUNTERS
It is not the BEST animated movie of all time but it got all the little Korean cultural references that feel like it is catering to me....in particular I really loved the narration sequence of how the Demon Hunters came to be!!! So I decided to make a post about it

The first generation of demon hunters we see are set in the 조선 (Chosun) era, which is a VERY common place to start for a lot of Korean media. There are no specific singers/performers they are referring to here, but they are based on 무당 (mudang). Korean female shamans. There are male shamans as well but those are not as well known and not popular. That is why the boy band Saja Boys are based on 저승사자 (Jeosung Saja) aka Korean underworld magistrate/grim reaper.

Anyway the mudang have various roles in Korean paganism/spiritualism. Instead of flashy musical numbers with weapons, they perform 굿 (gut), rituals that vary by region and function.

The second generation of hunters we see have the flapper girl aesthetic (American 1920s fashion) which was popular in Korea around the 1960-70s. This also is probably shouting out to the og Korean "girl group" aka the Kim Sisters (김시스터스) of the 1950-60s. They might not have been the MAIN influence but the trio singer composition and their fame for being popular among US troops in Korea (which launched their career in the US) doesn't feel like just coincidence.

The third generation we see has the Korean 1970s to maybe super early 80s aesthetic. I couldn't think/find any trio girl groups during this time, but they feel like a mix of Lily Sisters (릴리 시스터즈) and Kye Eunsook (계은숙). Not the most confident with this one. Unfortunately there are no EN websites that talk about them (and I don't know them in a lot of detail other than they were popular during their time)

The fourth generation is the 1980s, which is when the word "k-pop" starts being used to describe the songs. BUT MAN, THIS SET PISSES ME OFF BECAUSE WHY ARE THEY ALL DIFFERENT 80S KPOP STYLES? COORDINATE GIRLS!!! Again no specific girl groups jump out at me but looks like this is a reference to Settorae (세또래, aka "The three friends"). Not extremely obvious in terms of appearance but the dance moves have the vibe.

The fifth and final generation we see before Rumi/Mira/Zoey are STRONG 90s K-POP. The whole aesthetic of stars and the hairstyles SCREAMS S.E.S which is one of the classic 90s kpop girl groups of their time.

In particular their appearance for the music video "Dreams Come True" comes to mind. The video now feels really dated but back in the day, the effects and stuff they used were the HOT SHIT. Extremely nostalgic for Korean media.
Of course there may be some other stuff I missed or got wrong possibly, which I will fix if anything comes up. Feel free to correct me as well in the replies!

Are we sure that the Honmoon was going to take Rumi's patterns/demon half away?
To me at least seemed too good to be true. Part of me feels that if the whole thing with Jinu and the Saja-Boys had not happened and the girls had turned the Honmoon gold with their song at the beginning of the movie, I feel that it could have hurted Rumi or much worse, had sealed her with the other demons down unable to come back with her friends.
Like the way Celine talks, I'm sure she didn't even know what was going to happen to Rumi after the Honmoon became golden. Rumi seems to be the first and only of her kind, so the only thing she had was hope and trust.
A theory I have is that Rumi's demon patterns didn't just increase because of her shame and anxiety (as Jinu explained), but also because of how close the Honmoon was to closing permanently. The Honmoon just takes demons away but also affects their magic and weakens them, so I feel that the Honmoon was close to hurting Rumi really bad, and her patterns were just trying to protect her from the Honmoon from taking her with the other demons down.
But that's just an idea of mine...

Imagine some human villain kidnaps Bobby because they want to use him as ransom or as a hostage or whatever. Not even an hour into this terrible situation does he hear horrible things happening in other rooms. What the heck is going on? And then suddenly the door that was holding him gets completely wrecked with a single kick and the Huntr/x girls are all there ready to free him and rescue him.
And as they all leave Bobby gets to see all the carnage these three caused. What the heck happened to that guy? Oh, apparently Rumi ate his soul because he was the one who started all of this. Everything else is a complete wreck.
Bobby doesn't know whether to be proud or utterly terrified. Probably both.
