the thing that gets me as well as everything else about it is that when Hook trades his ship in for Emma, he does it while they're not even a couple. He has absolutely 0 indication she actually wants to be with him seriously and yet he still trades in his home of 200 years for her. And he hides the fact that he traded it until she asks him directly and then he has to reluctantly give the game up. He never wanted to tell her because he thinks her response would always be gratitude and not genuine. When I when your heart, and I will win it, it won't be because of any trickery. etc. It's the most selfless thing he ever does in my honest opinion. Magical.
