I got the most insulting email of my life today, from a publisher accusing me of plagiarism via AI use and withdrawing acceptance of my writing. They didn’t tell me they had any concerns, only a final determination based on unspecified criteria that, frankly, can’t be any good as they are 100% wrong. That can’t be standard practice, can it? It seems awfully unprofessional to me.

Obviously, I did not use an AI generator for anything. I have never touched one. I am so angry I can’t stop crying at how insulting to my abilities and integrity this is.

their reasoning being that "we couldn't ban it even if we wanted to, every writer already uses it anyway"
