How To Communicate
In my previous blog, I discussed my commencement of research to develop a one-off podcast; this time, I would like to share my endeavors on researching how to communicate to the listener.
Has anyone listened to The Communication Guy’s Podcast? As a Communication major, why would I not heed the advice of two experts with four decades of experience; Dr. Tom Barrett, “holding two master’s degrees and a Ph.D. in psychology to include 20 years as a shrink in private practice” (Communication Guys, 2018). Alongside with his partner Tim Downs, “professional speaker, communication coach, writer, and artist” (Communication Guys, 2018) share their knowledge through various informative episodes such as How to Keep a Conversation Going, How to Help your Listeners Pay Attention, and Are You Leaving Your Listeners Out, essential tools need for communicating successfully.
As I will cherry-pick through their episodes for my personal and professional need, anyone interested the link is provided below, and comments/remarks are welcome after listening.

Podcast Anyone
Has the idea of orchestrating a podcast every entered your mind, as another source of reaching the masses to engage in thought-provoking conversations on veganism.
I was approached through my academic profession to compose a one-off podcast, but what does this mean? Therefore my search began with finding a Podcast on “how-to” for podcasting.
Throughout my research, I came across The Podcaster’s Roundtable a good starting point with the angle of various podcasters discussing their opinions on multiple trials and tribulations of podcasting. A different spin from the step-by-step process of creating a podcast that’s readily available with a quick search through Google. Here at The Podcaster’s Roundtable shared experiences and challenges are being exchanged along with their solutions for the listener.
Various topics addressed, “Is Your Podcast Searchable”, “Podcast Myths”, and “Is Your Podcast Launch Freaking You Out”, just to name a few for the preparation and launch of your podcast; if this is a goal for you, this site just may help, and I will keep my fingers crossed for the succession in constructing my one-off podcast.

I’m a vegan married to an individual, who follows a majority plant-based diet. I consistently strive to educate myself on the various vernacular associated with the multiform of dietary choices outside of veganism; done for multiple reasons
· When shopping knowing what I’m purchasing
· Everyone has the right to chose their dietary plan
· Illustrating compassion and non-judgment while sharing knowledge
The images provided is an example of knowing and understanding the verbiage used on products before purchase. So what does it all mean Vegan, Plant-based, Vegetarian, terms that if unfamiliar with, used interchangeably?
Vegans, "do not consume, wear, purchase, or use anything made from an animal" (PETA, 2016); Vegetarian, “do not eat animals but consume products derived from the animal, eggs, milk, cheese, honey,” (PETA, 2016), etc.; and Plant-Based, "eating patterns focused on food primarily from plants to include nuts, seeds, oils, grains, legumes, and beans but not excluding dairy or meat" (McManus, 2018).
This post hails from my consciousness, complying with my beliefs, and not compromise due to a lack of understanding. Meaning, the product images provided indicate different levels of dietary needs.
Gardein's Mandarin Orange Crispy Chick’n; a vegan product with the vegan seal of approval; Quorn's meatless grounds, a non-vegan product suitable for a vegetarian or plant-based follower, containing egg whites, both products upon first glance give the untrained eye the impression vegan.
Now what does this mean and how does it apply to products for the body. In the other image, the Garnier product indicates "vegan formula" even though Renpure 'doesn't note the same description, it remarks "plant-based" and "not test on animals." The ""not tested on animals"" according to PETA indicates a product that vegans can use.
All of this is to say, know, and understand the verbiage.

When prepping to get back onto the road from our enjoyable experience of the @veganstreetfair Mesh-up my spouse and I came across a fantastic all organic plant-based vegan Italian restaurant; @greentablecafela. It's the first Plant-Based Italian Café in L.A., and the ambiance and food were excellent.
I had the B_Loved Sandwich with a side salad and a slice of lemon pie eaten on the road. Unfortunately, I got so excited about the dessert I forgot to take a picture, but if in the area, please stop by; 5998 W Pico Boulevard, Los Angles, CA.

Last weekend was Memorial Day Weekend, hoping everyone enjoyed the holiday. As previously mentioned, @Veganstreetfair hosted VSF Nights Mash-Ups.
The event was a scaled-down version of the March extravaganza that expands for serval blocks in the NoHo area; however, the festivities did not disappoint! With various activities, retro arcade section, live band karaoke, and a beer & booze garden.
Visiting from Las Vegas, tips of advice, don’t show up, Iike I did around the 3 o’clock time frame. Now California has little to no humidity; however, coming from Vegas (no moisture), I felt as if I was in Florida (exaggeration).
Quickly after making my first purchase the donut fried chicken sandwich from @eatloveca who teamed up with @thedonuttery to orchestrate this delicious creation. Along with the @the_base_co #happinesscapsule drink with vodka, I felt no humidity, and all was right with my ora! Sorry, I couldn’t remember the flavor, blame it on the vodka, lol. I sat and enjoyed my delicious food and drink, while entertained with participants engaging in the live band karaoke.
As previously mentioned (a don’t) arriving way too early I wrapped things up around 6 p.m. with @huglifeicecream and @vaffls #cookiesncreamvaffl ice-cream cone while waiting for my Uber.
The event was an excellent experience for tasting a variety of vegan venues from around the California area, and I look forward to attending the big event hosted in March.
