Daily drawing 1670: The Queen of the Stars, the final boss, bored with the monotony of the palace. What is the point of power and rule when everything that sparkles and shines becomes mundane? Perhaps Moss can provide the entertainment that she is desperately waiting for.

Daily drawing 1669: The prompt today called for a cosmic critter. So, my first thought went to a little buddy like this. I realized as I was almost done that this idea of a cosmic squirrel is pretty much just Ratatoskr from Norse mythology. Hopefully the idea I had for its tail makes it different enough lol

Daily drawing 1668: I struggle a lot with foreshortening, but I do really enjoy trying to draw it. I love the sense of scale it brings without having a lot of detail. I don't have a lot of time today to draw, so this drawing is super simple. But, there's still a decent sense of scale with very few lines.

Daily drawing 1667: I don't have a lot of experience drawing armor or hard material design in general, but I think that this turned out alright! The prompts for Adventure April are moving more towards an area that I'm not as comfortable drawing, being more built and inorganic and less nature and organic. So it's going to be a struggle for me, but I'm looking forward to trying my best.

Daily drawing 1666: So going from yesterday where I had a bit of time to today where I have no time to draw lol. The prompt is "potent potion of heavenly essence" so glass distortion go brrr

Daily drawing 1665: When was the last time you've stopped to smell the flowers? I've drawn this pose two times before with a different character, and I got to say that I think I've gotten a little better every time. It's always fun for me to go back and redraw a drawing or reuse a pose or composition from an older drawing. It's like little benchmark tests for me to see how far I've come! And it also helps me re-contextualize how many drawings I've done. . This is my 1665 daily drawing in a row, but numbers kinda get loose in my head and my conceptualization of the passage of time is a little funky. Like, I feel like the first two drawings were from a few months to a year ago, but the first was from all the way back in June of 2020 and the redraw was in April of 2023. . I think as creatives, it's important to remember that progress happens over time. Improvement is gradual. And self-judgmental comparison can hinder that sense of accomplishment. Sometimes I feel like I'm not doing enough, not getting better fast enough, and just making bad art. And the numbers on social seem to back up that mindset. . I need to constantly remind myself that I'm drawing and posting daily as a side project. If I spend 4+ hours daily for a week or two on a single piece, I'm sure I could make something much higher quality. But that's not the point of this for me. I'm drawing because I enjoy it. And I post it to keep myself honest about drawing daily, and because I really love the interaction. I've met some great people because of this. . I'm feeling burnt out at the moment. I know that for myself, that happens when I'm feeling like I'm not making progress or not accomplishing anything. But in this case, I'd accomplished a lot. I just need to practice gratitude, to recognize that each drawing is an accomplishment that's fun to make! I think that's such a crucial idea for creatives. That we are more than just a bottomline or numbers. We do what we do because of the process!

Daily drawing 1664: So the prompt for Adventure April today is "cosmic companion" and I'll be honest, I don't want to have to draw another character in every drawing for the rest of the month lol. I decided to mess around and create a little chibi mascot design and had a lot of fun making this silly little drawing.

Daily drawing 1663: Today's prompt is "creature merchant." For right now, I don't really have an idea of how to fit this into the world I've been slowly building, so I went with a general traveling merchant design idea. A humanoid toucan like creature with strengths and weaknesses from their background. I thought that for this creature, perhaps their clan doesn't have wings as they gave those up long ago in place of arms. And a merchant, far traveled and access to many resources, maybe would have obtained a cloak imbued with magic that could transform into wings at the users request.

Daily drawing 1662: As Moss passes through the portal, everything they knew is left behind. Before them, they have found a land of stars and clouds drifting through space. This celestial city, larger than anything Moss has ever scene before, look as expansive as the largest insectoid colonies they've come across in the forest. Moss was prepared for many possibilities for this adventure. This, however, was unexpected beyond imagination.

Daily drawing 1661: Underwater, the scale hits Moss. The waters now extend far deeper than before, revealing a massive archway among the ruins. The water feels different. Like a heavy fog, cold against the skin but still light and non-restricting. As Moss swims towards the arch, it starts to glow brighter and brighter and brighter until they can no longer look directly into the light. As they float there, weightless in the magical waters, Moss feels themself drifting towards the gateway, being drawn toward whatever lay beyond.

Daily drawing 1660: The little faerie flashes a knowing smile to Moss. They too seem to feel the strange connection that tugs the back of Moss' mind. Before their eyes, the water shifts and swirls to reveal previously unseen ruins on the lakebed. The faerie gestures to Moss, as if to clarify that this magic was performed for them specifically. A new development in their adventure.

Daily drawing 1659: By chance, Moss noticed something peculiar during their fun in the water. A little creature, napping in a single drop of water. A soft green fae with two sets of delicate wings, curled up, fast asleep. A curiosity washes over Moss as they look open the tiny being. But not because of the oddity in the drop, but because they have the strangest tickle in the back of their head that this is what, or who, they've been looking for.

Daily drawing 1658: The shifting sands give way to the bright oasis spring! If I ever expand this into a full story, this will be the closest I ever get to a beach episode lol. I'm feeling a bit better today, but mostly I've been frustrated with my art the last couple of days. So with the prompt of "oasis spring," I new that I could have some fun with a landscape again which is more my speed. I'm really happy with how this turned out and had a lot of fun which is always great.

Daily drawing 1657: The prompt today is "food crafting recipe" and I honestly had no ideas. I'm still recovering from a stressful week and a good bit of burnout. I went with a Minecraft reference and a simple drawing to get through today. Hopefully I'm feeling a little more put together tomorrow.

Daily drawing 1656: So the prompt today is "Nomadic bread baker," so I had planned on making this guy a traveling bread maker. I had some different ideas for how to show this, but this week has been so busy and I'm running pretty thin at the moment. So today, I decided to focus the majority of my energy on drawing some good looking bread 😁 Hopefully, I can find some time to rest and reset soon

Daily drawing 1655: A familiar face is waiting for Moss to arrive! While his travels take him far and wide across many of the world's diverse mega biomes, he has always felt the most comfortable in his homeland of the Sands. Because if there's one thing he's built for, its the heat. It brings a new level of meaning to the term "hot headed."

Daily drawing 1654: Moss has now made it to the Sands, the shifting desert landscape with mountains of sand moving like the tides. It is to these mysterious lands that Moss is called to, drawn toward the scent of adventure. Who knows what they'll find in these unmapped territories! All they know is that there's at least one familiar face that they look forward to seeing soon.
