idk if you've already answered an ask like this before, but what are your thoughts on klaus and diego's relationship in s1 and s2?

i think klaus and diego have an interesting little vibe going on in s1. you can tell they've actually run into each other a few times between the breakup and the funeral (to all the people who were like 'clearly vanya looked after klaus'..... it was diego), and that they have a good repertoire.

there's a real strong chemistry between them (that definitely feels accidental until 1x10 goes out of the way to refer to them like a couple, which.... thanks for the bait steve), and i love how soft diego gets about klaus. their banter is hilarious and i also love how much fun they have together-- their nonsense matches up really well together, and it feels like diego is the kick in the ass klaus needs to take things seriously, and klaus is the slack diego needs to relax. plus diego, king of toxic masculinity, could really benefit from hanging around klaus (and 1x06 literally shows that diego is what klaus needs to get clean...).

as for s2... it feels like the show kinda leaps through hoops to make sure they can't have any screentime together (and i'm like 'okay, that + diego getting a klaus-shaped girlfriend + ben suddenly having a shitty relationship with klaus + getting his own even-more-nonsensical love interest = someone got nervous about ben and diego not being straight'), and beyond that, diego suddenly being extremely callous to klaus just makes no sense. i think it's deeply inconsistent for him to do that. losing his patience, sure, but acting that coldly when we know that even estranged, they have such a warm vibe... no.

and its fucking hilarious that in the one scene they have together they have this much chemistry:
