It's kind of wild to me that so many people consider my writing to be really immersive, I always worry that I get too caught up in writing internal monologues and trains of thought and totally neglect to write whats actually physically happening in a scene lol ^^'
#why do all writers that say they failed their writing class are actually not nearly as bad at writing as one could think they are after he-#-earing a statement like that?#What I mean is... strangely common misconception that words have basically the same meanings in every langauge and that translation is just a matter of identifying which exact word in the target language corresponds to the word in the original language
#that's how I viewed translators job before actually meeting the guys#i stil couldn't say a word in a language that wasn't my native but watching them work made me realise... you do need to be good not only at#the translated language but also at your own mother tongue#and I'm not talking about the stuff language learners are usually (in the beginning of their journeys at the very least) concerned with#of course grammar is important but you also need to know how to WRITE in your native language#I started to respect people who translate so much after that#languages
